Flamingo card – crafting with 3D stickers

Hello again,

Today I wanted to show you a simple card I made using Doodlebug products. I must admit that I am in love with stickers, I used to collect them as a kid also. I have a full box of them, but hardly every use them on cards. Rather for the kiddos, albums or envelopes. Today I tried to make a card without any stamping – double challenge 😀

I used a piece of patterned paper from the lovely Doodlebug paper pad Fun in the sun, I cut it to cover 2/3 of the card front, together with a tiny strip of green cardstock. I used the rounded tag die from Clearly besotted and die cut it 2 times: one white and one blue. I placed the flamingo sticker from Doodlebug on the white tag, added a frame with 2 tiny strips of pink glitter cardstock and mounted them on the card front with 3d foam tape. A bit of Doodlebug twine and a small blue ribbon finished of the image part.

The sentiment is a Mama Elephant die – cut from black cardstock – to keep it simple.

This project will still go on the SSS Wednesday Challenge Things with wings, in the last moment 🙂

Ma egy egyszerű lapot hoztam nektek, amit egyik kedvenc gyártóm, a Doodlebug termékeivel készítettem. Be kell vallanom, hogy gyerekkorom óta imádom a matricákat, mindig is gyűjtöttem őket. Egy egész doboznyi van belőlük, de szinte soa nem használom fel őket, maximum albumokban, borítékok díszítésére vagy a gyerekeknek adom. A mai képeslapom dupla kihívás volt, mert még csak nem is pecsételtem semmit 😀

Először is egy mintás papírt vágtam méretre úgy, hogy a fehér képeslap alapom 2/3-át fedje be. Egy vékony zöld papírcsíkot ragasztottam a szélére. egy legömbölyített ajándékkísérő sablonnal 2 tag-et vágtam, egy fehéret és egy kéket. A flamingo 3D matricámat a fehér alapra ragasztottam, és 2 vékony csíkot vágtam rózsaszín glitteres papírból, ami keretet adott a madárkámnak. Már csak egy kis Doodlebug pékzsineg, és egy pici kék masni kellett a befejezéshez.

A feliratot egy Mama Elephant sablonnal vágtam fekete kartonból az egyszerűség kedvéért.

Remélem tetszik és ti is megpróbáljátok a képeslapkészítést 3D matricák felhasználásával.

Butterflies card set with Altenew

Hello again,

I promised to be back soon with a more cheerful post, I just couldn’t do only sympathy cards with my favourite Altenew set, I had to use it once more…actually another 4 times 😀

I made a card set, the images and layout is almost the same, even the embellishments. I just used different colours of Shinhan markers, different patterned paper and ribbon. All the sentiments are from Clearly Besotted, splatters from an MFT stamp set.

Tell me which is your favourite. I love the blue the most. My daughter too 😉

I will have this set of cards as another entry for the SSS Wednesday Challenge Things with wings.

Ez egy rövid bejegyzés, de nem tudtam megállni, hogy a  kedvenc Altenew lepkés nyomdáimat ne használjam valami vidám dologra is (az előző posztom részvétnyilvánító lapról szólt). De egy lap nem lap, így készítettem inkább egy 4 darabos készletet 😀

Szinte minden ugyanaz, az elrendezés, a képek, amiket a nyomdakészletből használtam, az epoxy pöttyök..csak a színek mások (Shinhan alkoholos filceket használtam ismét). És a mintás papír, az alátét karton és a szalag/csipke, ami különböző.

Nektek melyik tetszik a legjobban? Nekem a kék a kedvencem. A lányomnak is 😀

Mermaid home decor

Hello,

I am back again with a fun project which is not a card 😀

A few days ago we bought a colouring puzzle for my kids and as I love to recycle, I couldn’t throw the packaging away. I had a white shadow box style frame from IKEA, I just had to cut the window slightly bigger to show more of my background. Then I stamped all the mermaids and almost all the accessories from The Greeting Farm Mermaids stamp set, coloured them with alcohol markers and cut them out with the matching dies.

I mounted them on my recycled background with foam tape/regular adhesive and my sweet summer home décor is ready. It will go on the wall of the kids’ room.

Egy újrahasznosítós home dekor projektet hoztam nektek, nem képeslapot 🙂

A napokban valamelyik diszkont boltban vettünk egy kiszínezhető kirakót a gyerekeknek, annak a hátterét akartam felhasználni. Volt egy IKEÁ-s keretem, ennek az ablakát kellett egy sniccerrel nagyobbra vágnom, hogy több látszódjon a háttérből. A The Greeting Farm Sellő nyomdáit és vágósablonjait használtam, Shinhan alkoholos filcekkel színeztem. Felragasztotttam őket 3d/sima ragasztóval és kész.

Remélem inspiráltalak, és Ti is készítetek vmi dekorációt újrahasznosított csomagolóanyagokból. Duplán jó érzés 😀

Butterfly simpathy cards

Today’s post is a sad topic, unfortunately a relative of my mum passed away and I had to make a sympathy card. I made it only once before, thanks God I am not experienced in this. All I knew is that I wanted butterflies on my cards (I made one in Hungarian and one in English, so she can choose the best for the recipient).

The Painted Butterflies set from Altenew is my all time favourite, I love how delicate and soft the images are.

For my first card I used only the outline image, stamped it on a die cut panel leaving space for the sentiment, which is from Clearly Besotted. I coloured with grey Shinhan markers to get a monochrome look. The splatters I added with an MFT stamp, I am a control freak 😀

A bit of Wink of Stella clear shimmer, a black glitter pen, few silver glitter enamel dots and a thin silk ribbon piece on 2 corners were all the embellishment I added. I mounted this on a slightly bigger black cardstock to get a thin black frame. My card base is black this time, with a beautiful glitter paper from DCVW.

The second card was heavily inspired by Amanda Korotkova (this card), I stamped my butterflies on a cross-stitched die cut Bristol Smooth cardstock piece using Archival Jet Black ink, so I could colour with my Zig Real Brush pens.

The same embellishments as above, just this time I directly mounted this on a black card base. The sentiment I printed from a simple word document and mounted with 3D foam tape.

Oceans of love – coloured glitter paste with stencil

The weather is so lovely warm again here, and I thought a little cooling is needed so I made an ocean scene for my next card. It is also because I wanted to play along with the new SSS Monday Challenge Nautical/By the sea.

I grabbed a piece of watercolour cardstock and using various distress inks and a SSS Wave stencil, I made a layer of ocean. After it was done I shifted the stencil slightly and applied Bo Bunny glitter paste all over, which was coloured with the blues and greens I used before (colouring glitter paste is easy, I just put some of the distress ink on my craft sheet and mixed it with the paste using my palette knife). I set it aside to dry overnight and cut it with a stitched rectangle die from SSS. If the paste is totally dry, it is safe to cut with the Big Shot, it will not get ruined by the pressure – at least it worked well for me.

Meanwhile I stamped one of the new The Greeting Farm Mermaids on Bristol Smooth cardstock  with Archival Jet black ink, and coloured with Zig markers. I am still new to these markers but they are so fun and the colours are amazing! I used a water brush to lighten up some areas. As there are no coordinating dies for this lovely stamp, I had to fussy cut it out – the most difficult part for me, I really don’t like to fussy cut 😀 When it was done, I used a black marker to colour the edges of my cut image in order to look perfectly cut.

I was thinking a lot how to build a scene in a way that the gorgeous shimmer of the background is still showing well enough. In the end I decided to cut a fishtail banner (MFT), stamp the sentiment partly from another The Greeting Farm set and place a triple die cut word above (SSS).

And of course I couldn’t resist, I had to add some glossy accents on the shell, the beads and the top of the mermaid, and tiny Wink of Stella on Ariel’s hair. When it was ready, my daughter came to me and whispered in my ear: “Mummy, for whom you made this card?” I asked her: “Do you like it?” Her beautifully innocent eyes filled with sparkle when she nodded. She knew already that it is for her 😀

I wish you like my card  and will try to use coloured glitter paste with stencil. It is fun and the result looks great!

A mai gyönyörű nyári napra egy kis hűsítő, tengeri inspirációt hoztam. A sellők manapság nagyon divatosak, és ez a nyomda nagyon megtetszett a The Greeting Farm-tól. De először is a háttér elkésztését mutatom be nektek.

Egy képeslap méretű akvarell papírt stencileztem kék és zöldes árnyalatú distress tintákkal (SSS Wave stencil), majd ugyanezt a stencilt kicsit elcsúsztattam és újra stencileztem, de ezúttal áttetsző BoBunny csillámpasztával, amihez hozzákevertem az első körben használt distress tintákat. Ez nagyon egyszerű, csak egy laminált lap, vagy craft mat kell hozzá, erre nyomom rá a tintapárnát, hogy kinyerjem a tintát belőle. Ehhez egy műanyag spatula segítségével hozzákeverem a pasztát és rásimítom a stencilre. Amint az egészet befedtem a különböző színűre színezett pasztával, gyorsan leveszem a stencilt és csap alá tartva azonnal lemosom, mielőtt a paszta rászáradna. A stencilezett felületet hagyom egy éjszakát száradni (nem kell ennyi idő neki, de biztosra akartam menni).

A kis hableányt Bristol Smooth papírra pecsételtem (Pantonban kapható) Archival Jet Black tintával, mert ez vízálló tinta. ZIG clean color real brush filcekkel színeztem (Amazon-on jó áron hozzá lehet jutni), néhol egy vizes ecsettel halványítva a színeket. Végül ollóval körbevágtam és a széleket áthúztam egy fekete filccel, hogy eltüntessem a vágás egyenetlenségeit.

Sokat gondolkodtam, hogyan építsem fel a képet, hogy a hátteret ne nyomjam el. Végül is csak egy egyszerű zászlósablonnal vágtam egy homokszínű papírt, erre pecsételtem rá a feliratot fekete tintával, fölé pedig egy 3x kivágott és összeragasztott felirat került (SSS). Ugyan a hátterem is csillogó, de azért nem tudtam megállni, hogy egy kis glossy accent-tel hangsúlyozzak pár részletet és Ariel hajára is került egy pici Wink of Stella csillám 🙂

Remélem tetszik a lapom és ti is kipróbáljátok a stencilezést színezett csillámpasztával. Az eredmény nagyon különleges. A kislányom el is kérte finoman ezt a képeslapot, amit nagy örömmel adtam neki 😀

Hooray it’s your birthday!

This post is for my niece, Mai in Cairo – made with love, for you my dear 🙂 Happy birthday princess!

Today I brought a relatively simple birthday card for cat-lovers, featuring Newton’s Nook stamps. I stamped the kitty with the balloon on smooth white cardstock, coloured with Shinhan alcohol markers and fussy cut it out, together with the party hat. I die cut an MFT cloud cover up die from white cardstock and a Hooray sentiment die from Mama Elephant. I sponged some blue die ink on the die-cut word.

For my background I used a patterned paper from my stash which looks like the sky, I die cut a scalloped rectangle mat (Mama Elephant) from blue cardstock and a skinny red frame with a SSS die. I adhered everything with liquid glue, popped up the cat with 3D foam tape, and led a silver string from the balloon through the loops of die cut word.

I stamped a sentiment in black ink under the Hooray. A few clear sequins from PPP, a bit of shimmer with my Wink of Stella and a huge amount of glossy accent on the balloon finished off my card.

I am participating with this card in the SSS Wednesday Challenge Create a scene.

Ezt a lapot Kairóban élő unokahúgomnak készítettem a születésnapjára. Egy Newton’s Nook nyomdakészletet használtam, fekete tintával pecsételtem és alkoholos filcekkel színeztem a cicát meg a party sapkát. A felhőket és a Hooray feliratot is fehér kartonból végtam ki sablonnal, az utóbbit egy szivacsos applicator segítségével kék tintával színeztem félig. Háttérnek egy mintás papírt használtam, ami égnek tűnt, ezt egy középkék kartonból vágott alapra ragasztottam. Egy vékony piros kerettel emeltem ki a cicát a lufival, erre kerültek a flhők és néhány átlátszó flitter. A cicát 3D ragasztóval ragasztottam fel. A kivágott felirat alá fekete tintával egy szülinapi szöveget pecsételtem. A lufi zsinórjaként vékony ezüst madzagot használtam, amit átvezettem a kivágott felirat hurkain is. Végül egy kis elmaradhatatlan csillogás a Wink of Stella-val, és jó nagy adag glossy accent a lufira – és kész!

Jana’s mermaids (Guest Designer)

Good morning all,

Today’s post is very special, as I have a guest designer 😀

Please welcome my daughter Jana, she is 5 and loves to craft. Her favourite tools are my Shinhan markers, she loves to stamp and colour. She is a bit shy of her art and needs encouragement, so if you could leave her some love in the comments below, she would be so happy.

Jana loves mermaids as every little girl, she stamped some of her favourite images from the Lawn Fawn mermaid stamp set on white cardstock and coloured them with Shinhan markers. It took her a bit of time as she is a precise colorist and doesn’t want to get outside the lines. If she does so, she is using a white gel pen to fix any mistakes.

Then she made her starfish background with Gold Delicata ink, a blending tool and a stencil. When it was dry, we die cut the images for her with the coordinating dies and she glued them in place with a tape runner. The tiny images I helped her with.

In the inside of her card we put a piece of blue typing paper for a message that the recipient can write to herself and she signed below. When it was done, she asked me: “Mummy, do you know whom I made this card for? YOU!” My heart melted in this moment…

Please note that the colours she is choosing on her own (I have like 100 markers, lucky me)

Ma egy különleges vendég képeslapját mutatom meg nektek. Kérlek fogadjátok szeretettel Janát, a kislányomat. Jana 5 éves és nagyon szeret nyomdázni és színezni. Főleg az én Shinhan alkoholos filceimmel. Nagyon szégyenlős a lány, főleg, ha a művészetéről van szó. Egy kis bátorítás jól esne neki, ha időtök engedi, kérlek írjatok neki pár kedves szót. Nagyon örülne.

Jana nagyon szereti a sellőket, mint minden kislány. Az egyik kedvence a Lawn Fawn Mermaids készlet, ezt pecsételte le fekete tintával és színezte a filcekkel. A színezés eltartott egy darabig, mert nagyon precíz és nem akar kimenni a vonalból. Ha ez mégis megtörténne, egy fehér zselés tollal javítja ki a hibát.

A hátteret stencillel, egy szivacsos applikátorral és arany tintával készítette egyedül. Amíg a tinta száradt, együtt kivágtuk a sellőket a hozzávaló vágókésekkel. Jana ragasztotta fel őket görgős ragasztóval. az apróbb darabokban segítettem neki. Belülre egy világoskék papírt ragasztottunk, ahova az üzenetet tudja írni az, aki a lapot kapja. A másik oldalra Jana leírta a nevét. Amikor készen volt, így szolt: “Anya, tudod kinek csináltam ezt a lapot? NEKED!” Akkor elolvadtam 😀

Fontos megjegyeznem, hogy a színeket ő maga választja több mint 100 filcből (szerencsés vagyok, hogy ilyen sok szép dologgal alkothatok).

Remélem tetszik kis művészem alkotása. Be is neveztünk két kihívásra is ezzel a lappal! 😀

Mermaid for each other – special post for my brother

Hello,

Today I brought a very special card i made for the wedding anniversary of my brother, but i didn’t want to post it until i was sure he got and opened it 😀 So here we go:

First i made my background by blending various distress inks on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I love this cardstock for ink blending, it is much easier to get perfect blend. Then i used a starfish stencil and applied the same inks to create a colourful background, which i die cut with the Avery Elle Wonky stitches die. The mermaid and merman are from the cutest ever Lawn Fawn set, i coloured them with Shinhan alcohol markers. I cut them out with the coordinating dies. The heart is from the flamingo set from Lawn Fawn. I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of watercolour cardstock with Verdigris embossing powder from Ranger. I stapled it twice to my background and glued my images in place with liquid glue.

The fun part was to cut some glittery sequins in tiny pieces and glue them on the tail of the mermaid and merman. It took a while but i enjoyed the fuss and the final look. A bit of shimmer and a gold pearl on the flower of the mermaid plus the inevitable glossy accent finished of my anniversary card. I used some fun foam under my background panel and mounted it on a simple white cardbase.

Enjoy life card for the summer

Quick post only as i am running out of time to enroll for the SSS Wednesday Challenge Photo inspiration. I wanted something funny, and the below image really inspired me.

I started with cutting a cross-stitched rectangle with a Lawn Fawn die, then used the SSS rectangle dies to cut my wooden patterned paper and the glitter paper. I stamped my sentiment in black from Lawn Fawn Life is good on the wooden paper, glued the die cut Enjoy above. The flipflops are from the same set, coloured with Shinhan alcohol markers. 

The waves are die cut with the Lawn Fawn wave borders (i double cut it to get slim strips) and glued pieces of it on the glitter paper. I mounted the whole panel on a creamy textured cardstock, for the warm feel.

Ma egy gyors nyári lapot hoztam, egy kihívásra készült (ld. fent) és egy fotó inspirált.

Először is egy sötét barna kartont vágtam keresztöltéses téglalap vágókéssel, majd a famintés és a csillámpapírt vágtam méretre egy sima téglalap vágókéssel. A papucsok és a felirat a Lawn Fawn Life is good nyomdakészletből való, a hullámokat egy szegélyvágóval vágtam – kivágtam fehér papírból, majd a kést kissé eltolva újra kivágtam a hullámot, így lett ilyen vékony. A vágott Enjoy felirat egy Simon Says Stamp vágókés, fehér kartonból vágva. Egy kis csillám és glossy accent ay alkoholos filccel színezett papucsokra és már kész is a nyári lap!

Masculine card in red/white/blue

Hello,

It has been so long since my last post, I apologize. I have been crafting but much less due to Ramadan, but now I am back in the normal swing of life. Which means, I have to try myself in my favourite challenges too. This week the SSS Monday Challenge is about red/white/blue, so I came up with this card:

I am not good at really masculine cards as I am lucky enough to have the sweetest husband ever, who appreciates any type of card I make (ok, I don’t give him pinky flowers). But a friend of mine asked me for a masculine birthday card and I tried to be as man-like as I could. The most difficult part was not to add shimmer 😀

The car image if a Joy!Craft image and the sentiment is from an MFT set. I used Lawn Fawn die inks Blue Jay and Lobster for my stamping. It was enough not to make it shimmery but i couldn’t give up on some stitched details, so I used an MFT die for the strip of red under the focal image. The only embellishment I used were a few matte enamel dots from Doodlebugs.

Simple card, but not bad for the first attempt I think. I will challenge myself further and try to make more masculine cards in the future. I hope you got inspired too.
