Birthday card with a lot of masking

Hello,

Today I brought you a card that I made for the Paper Smooches Friendship Challenge. As always I am literally in the last minute with this, I have to change my crafting habits 😀

I wanted to make a fun card using the Chubby chums stamp set and the birthday bash stamp set. I stamped the middle muffin on a strip of white cardstock then masked it off with a mask I made from post-it note and stamped another two muffins. I masked those the same way and stamped the cat behind, masked it off also an stamped the cluster of balloons together with another two single balloons. I put masks on these too and applied light blue ink through an MFT stencil to make the background a bit more interesting.

I coloured my images with Shinhan alcohol markers, went through my images with a black multiliner to make them pop. I added some shimmer with the Spectrum Noir shimmer pen, and black glaze pen on the eyes of the cat.

I die cut the celebrate word from a pretty metallic black cardstock, and using the negative of the die cut, I glued it to the front panel. The rest of the sentiment is from an MFT set, stamped in SSS Maliblue ink several times to make it darker. A little paw print from the Chubby chums set finished off the sentiment. I added black glaze pen to this to make it pop.

I added a strip of Doodlebug patterned paper on a top folding notecard, and a black metallic and silver metallic thin strip of cardstock to my front panel, which I mounted on the card base using foam tape.  

As a final touch I covered all the balloons with a generous amount of glossy accent.

Funny birthday card with Lawn Fawn

Hello again,

I am back with a fishy card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Go Fish.

I made my background on a piece of white cardstock using a stencil and Lawn Fawn inks (I saw this colour combo on Pinterest a while ago and wanted to try). I die cut my panel with a stitched rectangle die and stamped the sentiment (SSS Best fishes stamp set) in one of the colourful stripes. I stamped the fish tank from Lawn Fawn Tank you and filled with the accessories and fish from the same set. I coloured everything with Shinhan alcohol markers, and cut it with the coordinating die.

I also used some mini heart die cuts I had laying around, I coloured them with Shinhan markers too and glued them around my sentiment.

I popped up the fish tank with 3D foam squares. A bit of Wink of Stella clear shimmer and glossy accent here and there finished it off. I used a mint green stitched rectangle mat for my focal panel.

Egy halas szülinapi lapot mutatok ma nektek, amit egy amerikai kihívásra készítettem (részletek fent). Tökéletes fiúknak, kicsiknek és nagyoknak egyaránt.

Egy stencil és szivacsos applikátor segítségével kék és zöld tintákkal átmenetes hátteret készítettem, majd egy öltésmintás vágósablonnal méretre vágtam. A vicces feliratot az egyik színes csíkba pecsételtem. Az akváriumot és a kiegészítőket (Lawn Fawn Tank you készlet) fehér papírra nyomdáztam, Shinhan alkoholos filcekkel színeztem, majd kivágtam és 3D ragasztókockákkal felragasztottam. Volt pár mini szívem kivágva, azokat is beszíneztem Shinhan filcekkel és a felirat köré ragasztottam. Egy mentazöld (Aldi karton-szett) öltésmintás alátéttel emeltem ki a színeket, végül egy kis csillám és glossy accent, és kész is.

Goodbye card by building a scene

Hello,

Today is a sad day, my husband had to leave for his month long shift at work. Our life is about frequent goodbyes and welcomes, which has a lot of advantages too, but it is tough on the other side. Every time my love travels, I put my feelings in a card for him. This is what I made this time:

I used a Clearly Besotted stamp set Deer to me. I immediately fell in love with the little deer images and I stamped 4 of them to represent our family. I coloured all my scene building elements with Shinhan alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies. I took some patterned paper from MFT and Doodlebug for the background using a stitched hillside border die from Lawn Fawn. I also die cut a postage stamp frame from Avery Elle from wood paper (Altenew) and from white cardstock and glued them together.

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant stamped directly on the background with black ink. I love to combine different brands on my cards. It really matched the scene and my feelings.

After gluing everything down on a white card base, I added some accents: black glaze pen on the eyes and noses, clear shimmer on the flowers and some glossy accent.

A mai egy szomorú nap, mert  a férjem elutazott dolgozni. Az életünk folyamatosan a fájó búcsúzásról és örömteli viszontlátásokról szól, minden előnyével és hátrányával együtt. Jó is, meg rossz is, most éppen nagyon rossz. Minden hónapban mielőtt elutazik, készítek egy képeslapot, így jobban ki tudom fejezni az érzéseimet és egy darabkát el tud vinni így belőlem. Ezt készítettem neki mára:

Egy Clearly Besotted nyomdakészletet használtam, mert a kis őzikék a családunkra emlékeztettek. Fekete tintával pecsételtem, Shinhan alkoholos filcekkel színeztem, majd kivágtam a hozzátartozó vágósablonokkal. Háttérnek enyhén mintás papírokat választottam, a keretet (Avery Elle) pedig kétszer vágtam ki: fehér és fa hatású (Altenew, de Pippinél is van/volt hasonló) kartonból, majd összeragasztottam őket.

A felirat egy Mama Elephant szettből származik, nagyon illett a hangulatomhoz.

Miután mindent felragasztottam egy fehér képeslap alapra, jöhettek a kiemelések: fekete glaze pen a szemekre és az orrocskákra, egy kis csillám a virágokra, majd pár pötty glossy accent.

Kész is. Amíg színeztem és alkottam, a szívem kicsit megkönnyebbült. Remélem tetszik és hamarosan újra látlak!

Happy Birthday RANA!

Special post for my beloved niece, Rana, for her birthday: My dearest, enjoy your day and have a blast! I hope you like this card, made especially for you, with all my heart 😀

I cut a piece of Doodlebug patterned paper to be exactly A2 size. I flipped the remaining of the paper and from the back side of it die cut a stitched banner (MFT). I stamped my sentiment on it with black ink, both sentiments are from a small SSS stamp set. I die cut the Lawn Fawn Smile die from a beautiful black metallic paper, and a cross stitched circle from vellum.

I stamped the little koala bear from Reverse Confetti on white cardstock and coloured with Shinhan alcohol markers. I die cut it with the coordinating dies, added some black glaze pen to the eyes, some shimmer with Spectrum Noir shimmer pen to the flower and a coat of glossy accents on the cute pinky nose of the koala and the flower he is holding.

I glued everything down making sure that the vellum panel has glue only on the areas where the image will cover it anyways. I added shimmer and glossy accent to the happy birthday sentiment too, plus 3 Doodlebug enamel dots.

Quick card for HIM

I am popping in to show you a quick card which can be done in like half an hour (I am not a fast crafter) for the men in our lives. Masculine cards are a big big challenge for me, I am lucky as my husband loves whatever I give him, even if it is pinky 😀 But I do try to stretch my boundaries.

For this little notecard, I die cut a kraft card base 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I used the largest stitched square die in the SSS set from a pretty patterned paper with glittery and glossy hearts on it. The focal element on my card is made with a die from Penny Black and I used a wonderful rubbery feel thick luxury red cardstock (I got it from a friend of mine as a gift, it is so pretty). It really feels like velvet paper. I glued everything with liquid glue.

Actually I made 3 cards to have on hand when I need to, but I ran out of the kraft cardstock, so I made 2 white card bases and added a kraft layer on top to look like it is all kraft. Little trick when I don’t have enough of the required colour.

Very simple card, perfect for a love note for our beloved ones. I am entering this card set to the SSS Wednesday Challenge It’s Hip to be Square.

Csak beugrottam egy könnyen elkészíthető pasis lappal. Számomra nem könnyű feladat igazán férfias lapot készíteni, de próbálkozom. Olyan szerencsés vagyok, hogy a férjem minden lapot értékel, még ha rózsaszínű is 😉

Először is egy kraft kartonból elkészítettem a képeslap alapomat (4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch), majd egy öltésmintás négyzet vágókéssel egy Lidl-ben vett papírkészlet barnás-szíves mintájú papírját vágtam méretre. A fókuszban egy Penny Black vágókéssel vágott panel less, amit egy kedves ismerősömtől kapott piros kartonból vágtam. Ez egy nagyon különleges, gumis bevonatú karton, gyönyörű a színe és tapintásra selymesen matt hatású, mintha bársonypapír lenne. Folyékony ragasztóval mindent felragasztottam, belülre pedig egy fehér négyzetet vágtam a már használt sablonnal, az üzenetnek.

Igazából 3 kis lapot készítettem, de elfogyott a kraft kartonom, így egy kis trükköt alkalmaztam. Fehér képeslap alapra ragasztottam egy kraft négyzetet, ami pont betakarta az egész előlapot. Erre került a mintás papír és a piros kivágat.

Egyszerű dizájn, hamar készen van, és tökéletes egy gyors szerelmes üzenethez.

Jana’s card for her friend

Hello again,

I couldn’t help putting this on the blog. I love whatever my daughter (5 years old) creates as I believe that art should be encouraged at an early age. One summer afternoon we were sitting together at our “craft studio” (aka dining table) crafting together. The outcome is a cute card she made for her friend.

Jana used Abby’s spring stamp set and a mini MISTI to help her in crisp results. She can totally use this tool on her own! She coloured her images with Shinhan markers (oh how happy she is when she can play with my stuff). I fussy cut everything for her while she worked on her background: applied blue ink through a SSS raindrops stencil on a blue card base. Then she arranged her images on her own, asking me to cut a little hill for her. She chose the colour of the cardstock from some scraps and supervised how high I cut the hill (she is very bossy). I helped her in gluing the images where she placed them initially.

As a final touch she added a loooot of shimmer with a Spectrum Noir shimmer pen, to show the rain on the flowers and the girl – as everything should be wet in such a heavy rain 🙂 We made a little enamel heart together with Nuvo Drops, it is embellishing the little girl’s hair.

I am so proud of her creation, her colour choices are great and matching. My little artist 🙂

The recipient was amazed too.

I want this cheerful piece of art to take part in the SSS Kids Challenge.

Ma egy vendég művész alkotását szeretném megmutatni nektek, nem tudtam megállni, hogy ne írjak róla pár sort. A vendég a kislányom Jana, 5 éves. Egy képeslapot készített kis barátnőjének.

Egy nyomdázást segítő eszközzel (mini MISTI) egyedül lepecsételte a SSS Abby’s spring nyomdakészletből a kislányt és a virágokat, majd Shinhan alkoholos filcekkel kiszínezte őket. Én végtam ki neki  a képeket, amíg ő a hátteret készítette: kék kartonra egy esőcseppes stencil segítségével nyári zivatart varázsolt kék tintával és egy szivacsos applikátorral.

Ő rendezte el a képeket a háttéren, majd zöld kartont választott és megkért, hogy – szigorú ellenőrzés mellett egy megfelelő méretű – dombot vágjak neki. A felragasztásban segítettem. Mikor készen voltunk, egy jó nagy adag csillám került a képekre egy átlátszó csillámos toll segítségével, mert hát aki esőben ázik, az bizony vizes lesz. A kislány haját egy piros szívecske díszíti.

Nagyon büszke vagyok erre az alkotásra, a színválasztásra, az elrendezésre és mindenre, amit a kis művészem készít. Szerintem nem lehet elég korán kezdeni. Ha nektek is tetszik, kérlek bátorítsátok egy-két kedves szóval Janát, nagyon örülne ha hagynátok neki egy kis üzenetet.

Good morning card for my love

Hello Everyone,

I am popping in with a simple card I made the other day for my beloved and wonderful husband. When he is at home with us, I love to pamper him and make his breakfast accompanied with a little note. I just express my love and gratitude in this way 🙂

I attended some of the Online Card Classes recently and in the Stenciled one I saw a cute layout from Kristina Werner which fit my “quick-and-easy” need for a fast morning card. I used a piece of dark grey cardstock and die cut with a YNS border die to get a notebook edge. I stamped the whole panel with MFT Romantic script background stamp and a dark grey ink. For my focal image I stamped an MFT sentiment from on of my favourite sets (I love you more), put the MFT Staggered Hearts stencil over and lightly added red ink on it with a stencil brush. Around the sentiment I made it very light, while o the top and the bottom I added more ink for the ombre look.

I quickly coloured the heart with Shinhan markers, added some clear shimmer with the Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer pen and made it shiny with glossy accents.

I took a ruler and added white dash lines to the right edge of the grey mat, like I saw from Kristina. This little trick makes such a difference for me.

Simple and easy card, ready in short time which makes it perfect for a morning love note 🙂

I will play along once more with the SSS Wednesday Challenge: Make for the border, this is my second card for this challenge.

Egy könnyen és gyorsan elkészíthető képeslapot hoztam ma nektek, amit drága férjecskémnek készítettem egy reggeli mellé. Amikor itthon van velünk, szeretem őt elkényeztetni és én készítem neki a reggelit. Ha van egy extra fél órám, olyan jó érzés egy kedves lapot is csinálni mellé, egy apró üzenettel. Mindkettőnket boldoggá tesz, én így fejezem ki mennyire szeretem őt és milyen hálás vagyok neki mindenért.

Szóval a lapom vázlatát egy online kurzuson láttam, és egyszerűnek tűnt egy reggeli gyors laphoz. Egy szürke kartont vágtam egy szélvágóval, hogy olyan legyen mint egy spirálfüzetből kitépett lap. Egy kézírásos háttérbélyegzővel pecsételtem mintát rá sötétszürke tintával. A fő panelemet fehér kartonból vágtam, egyik kedvenc MFT nyomdakészletemből pecsételtem rá a Hello love feliratot majd egy szívecskés stencilt tettem rá és stencilecset segítségével piros tintát vittem fel. A felirat környékén csak nagyon halványan, a széleken erősebben, több rétegben vittem fel a tintát. Egy gyors színezés alkoholos Shinhan Touch markerrel, egy kis Wink of Stella Clear Pen a csillámos hatásért, majd glossy accent a 3D csillogásért. Miután összeragasztottam a rétegeket, egy vonalzóval és fehér zselés tollal szaggatott vonalakat húztam a jobb szélre. Apró trükk, amit a kurzuson tanultam, de olyan sokat számít.

Waving hello

Hello again,

Another quick interactive card, which I made for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Summer Fun and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Make for the border a few days ago, just didn’t have time to post.

I used only Lawn Fawn products for this card: dies, stamps and even the BG paper is from LF, my all time favourite.

I die cut the stitched panel from the Stitched Journaling set 2 times from watercolour paper. I added some Tumbled glass distress ink on one of them for the sky, and stamped my sentiment in black ink from the Mermaid for you set. From the other panel I die cut 2 wavy panel with the Waves Border dies and added Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint sketch distress inks to them. The edges I emphasized with Spectrum Noir clear shimmer pen. I used the same border die to cut the tiny white waves too.

The narwhal is from the Mermaid for you set, coloured with Zig markers. I added a lot of shimmer to it with the Spectrum Noir pen.

The interactive part is that the tail of the nerwhal is waving as we move the card. It is done by using a slider die behind the first wavy panel (Lawn Fawn die).

I embellished the card with only one little heart gem and when it was all assembled I stamped some birds from the Lawn Fawn Life is good stamp set. When I took the pics, I realized that I stamped them upside down….did you notice? Ups 😉

Fun summer card with stencil & cheap IKEA brushes

Happy Monday morning,

The weather in Budapest really turned autumn-like, so bad, I cannot accept that summer is over. Not yet. So I am here to share some still very summery cards with you in my next posts.

This card was heavily inspired by Stephanie Klauck from the MFT Design Team, I saw an interactive card she made with the same stamp set a while ago. I just had to try it myself.

First of all, I have a big piece of heavy weight paper I use for photo shooting, which gave me the inspiration for the background. I took a stencil from Neat and Tangled and applied some blue ink with a cheap Ikea brush for kids. It is not as smooth as the Clarity stencil brushes, but gives an interesting result. I shifted my stencil and applied some greenish ink again the same way. And voilá, my water background is done.

I stamped and coloured the girl and accessories from MFT Fun in the sun on Bristol Smooth paper and coloured with Zig markers. I fussy cut them out, added some shimmer with Spectrum Noir shimmer pen and some glossy accents. I die cut a stitched rectangle frame from Lawn Fawn from white cardstock, the smile Mama Elephant die from some recycled packaging 2 times and layered them on top of each other. I stamped the rest of the sentiment in the bottom corner of my pool BG from Lawn Fawn Life is good.

In the middle of my BG panel I die cut a slider slot (Lawn Fawn dies) and assembled my card so that the little girl can slide with the matrass.

Floral bouquet without colouring

Today is a special post, dedicated to my beloved sister-in-law. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ENAS, I love you so much!

I saw a card by Dawn Woleslagle (the owner of WPLUS9) on Youtube and it inspired me so much that I bought the stamp set Summer blooms. I wanted to replicate the card she made but with a slightly different layout and different sentiment. This is the original by Dawn:

I took a strip of white cardstock (3,5×5,5) and stamped my floral bouquet with colourful inks (SSS and Hero Arts). When the stamping was done, I die cut the Wishing sentiment from a WPLUS9 die set from black cardstock and glued it on my panel. I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Happy Wishes stamp set from WPLUS9, stamped in purple ink. I added a bit of shimmer with my Spectrum Noir shimmer pen and a few clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

I placed a black/white striped washi tape along the edge of a white notecard and I matted a thin strip of pink cardstock under my panel before gluing it on the card base.

That is my card for today, I hope you like it. Of course the original is the best, but I wanted to try to give it a bit more different look.
