MFT Card Design Superstar Contest – card #2

 Hello again,

So my second card for the MFT Card Design Superstar contest is a bit more technique involved.

First I the sun ray stencil on a piece of acetate and applied some glitter paste  which I coloured with distress inks (Milled Lavender / Wilted Violet / Dusty Concord / Black soot). I wanted to have an ombre effect. Then using the same distress inks I inked 2 pieces of Bristol Smooth cardstock and added some water splatters which I dabbed off with a paper towel after a few seconds. I die cut the pierced rectangle frame from one of them, and the other I used as a background behind my acetate piece.

The images are from a retired Birdie Brown set, coloured with Shinhan alcohol markers. Some details were emphasized using black glaze pen, some Spectrum Noir clear shimmer pen and glossy accents.

The sentiment is from the Magical unicorns set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The flag for the sentiment is die cut from a gorgeous purple metallic paper which matched perfectly my background. The die is from the Tag Builder Blueprints 5 set.

I love the Halloween look though it is an every day card. The ombre glitter paste looks so great on the inked background, I wish I could capture the beauty of it.

Because of the theme and the feel of the card, and maybe because I am a Harry Potter fan, I feel this card matches the SSS Monday Challenge At the movies. The girl looks like Ginny Weasley, doesn’t she?

See you soon for my last entry, it is still in progress.
