Ombre birthday card

Hello Again,

This is my second post today, I wanted to share my last card for the MFT Camp Create this year. It is the bonus task, Awesome Ombre, perfect finish for a wonderful crafty week.

My ombre card:

I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock, and applied 3 shades of Distress inks: Candied Apple, Abandoned coral and Worn Lipstick. Then I temporarily adhered the chunky herringbone stencil and sponged the same inks over it. Before removing the stencil, I spritzed it with Tsukineko Shimmer spritz for some delicate sparkle.

To add more texture, I sprinkled it with water and dabbed it off with a paper towel after few seconds. I also added white, pink and red ink splatters. When it was dry, I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and matted it with a scalloped white piece.

The sentiment is die cut from heavy weight white cardstock, and I also heat embossed a matching sentiment on dark red cardstock with white embossing powder.

After I adhered the sentiment on the background I decided to bring in a cute critter from MFT Hog Heaven stamp set. I stamped the little pig with the heart on Copic friendly paper, coloured him with pink and red shades of Copics and die cut it with the coordinating die.

A bit of Spectrum Noir shimmer pen and glossy accents on the heart and black glaze pen on the eyes I could not skip. The final touch was to add a few red/pink sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for this lovely camp,

See you next time,

Zsofi
