Hello Everyone,
I am so excited to participate in this year’s Card Design Superstar Contest organised by MFT.
The card I am showing you today is for the Clean and Simple Genius category:
I wanted to make a very simple but bright card, which fits any occasion. I started with black heat embossing 2 of the pretty flowers from the Funky Flowers stamp set on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I applied some distress inks with a mini ink blending tool: Mustard seed, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple.
I squeezed the ink pads on my Ranger craft sheet and painted the flowers to intensify the colours and make them stand out. I helped the blending with a Spectrum Noir shimmer pen, so I made them sparkly in one step.
While the flowers were drying I made some masks from post-it for them as I wanted to splatter the background with water first and then with black soot distress ink. I used a regular paintbrush for the latter.
I was so impatient that I dried it with my heat tool and using an MFT Blueprints set, I cut it with the stitched rectangle die and adhered to a white card base. To finish it I die cut the Celebrate die from black shiny cardstock (DCWV) 2 times, stacked them on top of each other and glued it on the bottom of my card.
I hope you like it as much as I do, I will need to make more colour combos in the future.
I will link this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Clean and simple too.
Hope you enjoyed and will pop in tomorrow, I have a fun coffee card to share.
See you,
Zsofi
