Hello Everyone,
I am popping in with a project inspired by the current Sketch Challenge at the MFT Card Challenges site. Actually I made 4 cards, all the same, having in mind the teachers at my son’s KG (he is in the Hedgehog group).
I started with die cutting my stitched panels from Bristol Smooth cardstock. Before stamping anything, I created my masks from full sticky Post-it notes and fussy cut the images to be ready to use. I also created a circle mask as the moon. As I made 4 cards, I created 4 masks of each image simply stacking 4 Post-its and stamping the image once, cutting all 4 at once.
Then I stamped the small hedgehog first. I , masked it, stamped the second hedgehog, masked it and finally stamped the tree trunk. I masked this too and added the moon mask as well. I stamped the Snowfall background stamp with Versamark ink and white heat embossed it on all 4 card panels.
Then I started ink blending using Distress Oxide inks and a round blending tool. Before reaching the bottom of the panel, I used the Drifts and hills stencil from MFT to add a snow bank.
After removing the masks I coloured the images with Zig Clean Colour Real brush markers. I also painted some Black Soot distress ink really watered down on the moon for more texture, and I added also some perfect pearls for a subtle shine.
I also stamped a Santa hat and 2 presents from the Beast friends stamp set, coloured and fussy cut them out. I added some snow marker to the hat and puffed it up with a heat tool. After adding them to the card, I added some shading with a light grey marker.
I stamped the Santa in his sleigh image from a Newton’s Nook Design set (Snow globe scenes) in the moon and white heat embossed a simple sentiment on a metallic black banner.
A very technique oriented card design, but it was so much fun to make multiples of it.
I will link this up to the MFT Sketch Challenge #362 and also to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Christmas/winter holidays.
I hope you like it and will return soon for more inspiration.
See you,
Zsofi
The scene is so cute! Love the sky with snow falling and the santa with reindeers too. Thank you for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
