It is day 3 of the reveals of the gorgeous July release at Newton’s Nook Designs. Today there are 2 sets being in the spotlight:
As soon as I saw this stamp set I had in mind to change things up and after colouring the images, I cut it up to pieces. It was a hard decision, but the idea I had I mind was to let them peek through a port-hole from all angles.
So I die cut a Porthole frame from Lawn Fawn from teal cardstock and started gluing the shark-pieces all around. When I was happy with it, I went over the edges with a black marker to look more finished. I used 3D foam tape to pop it up on a vellum circle and stamped the sentiment with black Staz-on ink in the middle.
I chose a coordinating patterned paper as a background and adhered the shark frame. I embellished the little holes with silver pearls.
These amazing flamingos I stamped on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Black Onyx ink and used clear embossing powder to heat emboss them. Then I used a couple of Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour them in. The raised edges made it easy to stay in the lines.
When it was all coloured, I took a stitched rectangle die and die cut the panel with it. I stamped the sentiment on a vellum strip with black Staz-on ink and wrapped it around the flamingo panel.
I gave it a dark grey stitched mat and a thin yellow one too, to make it more dimensional, before I mounted it all on a white card base.
