Newton’s Nook Designs 5 year Blog Hop

 

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Newton’s Nook Designs 5 year Blog Hop. I am so excited to be part of such a great event. I met Jennifer’s gorgeous designs more or less 2 years ago and fell in love instantly with Newton. I cannot imagine any week passing since then without creating something with their stamps and dies. Yeah, you guessed it right, I am probably one of their biggest fans!

For the Blog Hop I have created a Mermazing card set using the new Narly mermaids stamp and coordinating dies.

I started with stamping and colouring the cute mermaids on alcohol friendly cardstock using Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. For the first card I added strips of an alcohol inked background to a white card base. I made the strips in different width for more interest.

I stamped the sentiment above using a matching blue violet ink.

I popped up the mermaid and the shell using 3D foam tape and added some Nuvo Glitter Drops (White Blizzard) on the pearl. I also scattered some colourful sequins from my stash which matched the colours of the background.

For the second card I die cut a scalloped window (Mama Elephant die) on a white card base and stamped the sentiment under  it using black ink.

In the inside of the card I adhered an alcohol inked background I made on Yupo paper using Ranger alcohol inks.

I popped up the mermaid on it with 3D foam tape and adhered all other sea critters flat using Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I decided to stamp another sentiment inside too, but due to the Yupo paper I used Staz-on Black ink to make sure it will not smear.

I added some sparkle with a Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen and used some glossy accent to emphasize some details.
