Hello Everyone,

Today is the last day of the sneak peaks of the September release at Newton’s Nook Designs. We are featuring 2 cute and funny mini sets and their coordinating dies as well as a new essential sentiment set for the season.

CARD #1

I used the Pumpkin Patch stencil to make a simple thank you card. I added some Wild Honey distress ink lightly on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I temporarily taped down the stencil and added Carved Pumpkin distress ink. Before removing the stencil I sprayed it all with Tsukineko Shimmer mist. It gives a subtle shimmer to the pumpkins, I love this look so much!

When it was dry, I die cut a rectangle from this panel and adhered it to a white scalloped rectangle (Frames and flags die set). The remaining frame of the die cut stencilled panel I adhered to a white card base as I wanted to use every single piece of this gorgeous background.

I stamped the sentiment from the Thankful thoughts stamp set with black ink and added a few clear sequins as embellishments. I popped up this panel using 3D foam tape.

CARD #2

I stamped and coloured the T-rex from the Tea-rex stamp set using Copic markers an die cut it with the coordinating die. I added some glossy accents to the tea cup and the dots on the dinosaur itself. I love to add these shiny parts to my images.

I used an MFT Blueprints die set to cut all the design elements from patterned paper and coordinating cardstock scraps. The sentiment is white heat embossed on a thin strip of teal cardstock.

As a finishing touch I added 2 little enamel hearts next to the focal panel.

CARD #3

Slothy_coffee_zsm01IG

I started with die cutting the postage stamp edge die from the Frameworks die set from white Copic friendly cardstock. I stamped the sloth and the sentiment with black ink. I made a mask for the image and covered it before using the 2nd and 3rd generation stamping technique: I moved the paper tiny bit in between stampings to get the movement effect.

When I was happy with the speed I achieved, I coloured the image with alcohol markers. I added some black and patterned paper banners to the bottom of the panel and adhered it all to a dark grey cardstock piece.

Some white gel pen details and glossy accents finished off this funny card.

  2. I love that pumpkin stencil! Great card. Love the tea-rex with the DB paper – so adorable. That sloth, however, is my favorite! So sweet! And I love how you did the cup… genius!
