Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 9 Announcement

halloween_2018_FB

Hello everyone,

Happy Halloween to all of you who celebrate! Today I am sharing with you my last card in the Halloween Card Series this year. I enjoyed creating every single project I showed you, and had so many more ideas and stamps to feature, just ran out of time. Next year 😉

Today’s card is special as it comes with an announcement: I am thrilled to join the fabulous Design Team at LDRS Creative as of November! To celebrate this lovely news, I made my last Halloween cards using some goodies from LDRS Creative.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm01IG

I started with stamping the cute witch from the PolkaDoodles Winne Magic stamp set using LDRS Creative Raven Hybrid on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour the image. I stamped the sentiment from the SSS Handwritten Halloween stamp set and also some bats in the background.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm03

I used the LDRS Creative Build a card Punkin die set to make a pumpkin shaped card. I die cut the coloured panel with the smaller pumpkin die and inked up the edges with Black Soot distress ink. I did not do any masking, I simply went as close to the image as I could with the ink blending tool.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm04

Then I created the card base from folded white cardstock and the bigger die. I die cut another piece from orange cardstock (one layer only) and adhered it to the card front. I die cut the leaves and swirls from green cardstock and added a bit of shading with my ink blending tool which still had a black ink on it.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm02

I used the small embellishment die to cut a black and white piece, stamped a spider from the SSS stamp set and popped it up on the card. A few added details with a Sakura Glitter pen and a black glaze pen and my cute pumpkin shaped Halloween card is finished.

I will link this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

I hope you enjoyed the series and it helped you to get in the Halloween mood. From now on you will see mostly Christmas inspiration here, so if you feel like, just subscribe to make sure you will not miss any of my posts. Thanks for spending the last 9 days with me and I wish to see you soon again!

Happy crafting,

Zsofi

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 8

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

If you follow me, than you know how much I am fond of cute stamp sets. Hello Bluebird is one of my recent favourites, I just need to collect all of them. For today’s card I used the cutest Halloween Party stamp and die set.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm01IG

I started with stamping and colouring all the images from the stamp set, I used Copic markers. Then I die cut them with the coordinating dies. I wanted to create a Halloween scene, so I looked at my Lawn Fawn scene dies and selected the Stitched Hillside Backdrop Landscape die as the base. I cut it out from Bristol Smooth cardstock 2 times.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm02IG

One of them I inked up with Black Soot distress ink and spritzed it with water then with black paint for some splatter details. The inner piece I inked up with Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey distress inks. I also added water splatters to this and dabbed it off with a dry paper towel. I wanted to give it a subtle sparkle so I sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm03

I die cut a black Stitched Rectangle frame too and assembled my first scene. Before adhering the critters, I stamped some sentiments in black from the same stamp set and also from Lawn Fawn’s Costume party. I love to add sentiments to the background so they become part of the scene.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm05

I added the critters, some with liquid glue and some with 3D foam squares. I added some white gel pen details to their cheeks, made their eyes pop with a black glaze pen and added glossy accents to the string of lights, pot and lamp.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm04

I loved how it turned out and knowing that I still had critters left, I created a second card too.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm07

This time the base die was  the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame die #2. I cut it from black, grey and Bristol Smooth cardstocks. I layered the inner frame to get instant dimension and inked up the inner piece as before.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm09

The sentiment is from Newton’s Nook Designs Bootiful Night, stamped in black. I felt it matches the scene so well.

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm11

I used the same embellishing trick as for the previous card. I think this one turned out so cute too. Tell me, which one do you like more?

HalloweenCardSeries_HB_zsm08

I will link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

I hope you like my card and will pop in again for the last one tomorrow.

See you,

Zsofi

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 7

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

Only a few days left till Halloween, and after the shaker card of yesterday I brought you another special one today featuring goodies from Simon Says Stamp. It glows in the dark, yay! But let’s start at the beginning!

HalloweenCardSeries_SSS_zsm01IG

I stamped the Spider Web Background with Clear embossing ink on Bristol Smooth cardstock and heat embossed it with Black sparkle embossing powder. Then I sponged Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Shaded Lilac distress oxide inks.

HalloweenCardSeries_SSS_zsm02

I stamped the images from SSS Trick or Treat stamp set, coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

HalloweenCardSeries_SSS_zsm03

Then on a piece of Slate grey cardstock I stamped the slime image few times next to each other till it covered the width of the panel. I used Clear embossing ink for this and heat embossed it with WOW Glow in the dark embossing powder.

HalloweenCardSeries_SSS_zsm07.jpg

I die cut the word Halloween (from the Trick or treat coordinating die set) from Lavender cardstock 2 times and adhered them on top of each other. On a tiny piece of green cardstock I stamped the word Happy.

HalloweenCardSeries_SSS_zsm04

I assembled the card and popped up the imaged with 3D foam squares. I stamped a few bats in the background and a little spider under the slime using black ink. A bit of Tonic Aqua shimmer pen , white gel pen dots, black glaze pen on the yes and glossy accent on the nose of the cat finished it off.

HalloweenCardSeries_SSS_zsm06

I will link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

I hope you enjoyed today’s Halloween inspiration and will pop in again tomorrow for another cute one!

See you,

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 6

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

I am back with the 6th Halloween card in a raw…I hope you enjoy my series and getting in the mood for Halloween.

HalloweenCardSeries_PPP_zsm01IG

Today I want to show you cute shaker card made with Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies.

HalloweenCardSeries_PPP_zsm02IG

As always I stamped and coloured the images from the PPP Halloween Pals stamp set first, then cut them out with their coordinating dies. I die cut a stitched rectangle from black cardstock and then I ran it through the Big Shot with PPP Stitched Pieces die. I die cut another stitched rectangle from light green cardstock as the backing for my shaker.

HalloweenCardSeries_PPP_zsm03

I temporarily placed the black frame on top of the green rectangle to see where I should stamp the sentiment. After stamping it in black, I added a piece of acetate to the back of the frame, and used Darice thin 3D foam strips to create the shaker.

HalloweenCardSeries_PPP_zsm05

I filled it with a sequin mix from Lucy’s Little Things (that is the only Halloween mix I own, what a shame!) Then I removed carefully the backing of the foam strips and adhered the backing.

HalloweenCardSeries_PPP_zsm04

I cut a piece of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Booville paper pad to cover an A2 sized card and adhered the shaker to it. I added the cute images around, added some white gel pen details, covered their hats with Tonic Aqua shimmer pen and used glossy accents to emphasize some parts of the images.

HalloweenCardSeries_PPP_zsm06IG

I will link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge  and Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

I hope you liked today’s inspiration and you will come back tomorrow for something new!

See you,

Zsofi

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 5

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

Halloween is just around the corner, but I still have so many card ideas to share! I wish I could just stop the time and craft craft craft…

HalloweenCardSeries_PFS_zsm01IG

Today I brought you a quite simple card idea. I fell in love with this cute ghost by Picket Fence Studios, so it ended up in my cart when I was shopping at Simon Says Stamp during STAMPtember. I could not let the Halloween season pass without using this stamp. So I just coloured it with Copics bearing in mind the Reverse Confetti Abundant Autumn patterned paper I chose as a background. I love to match my colouring to the patterned paper I use.

HalloweenCardSeries_PFS_zsm03

After fussy cutting the image, I used a black Memento marker and went over the edges of the cut image to make it look like it was perfectly cut (even if it wasn’t).

HalloweenCardSeries_PFS_zsm02

I used an MFT stitched rectangle die to cut a piece from the patterned paper and adhered it to a slate grey note card. Then I used the MFT Linked Chain Oval Frame die to cut a black and a pink piece and layered them on top of each other. I adhered it to the card base too and popped up the ghost with 3D foam tape.

HalloweenCardSeries_PFS_zsm04

Then I heat embossed with white detail embossing powder a sentiment from the SSS Handwritten Halloween stamp set on Olive cardstock and cut it with the coordinating die. I just love this sentiment set so much! I used liquid glue to adhere it too on the bottom of my card.

HalloweenCardSeries_PFS_zsm05

As embellishment I used some clear star sequins and a white gel pen to add details to the ghost. I also covered it all with Tonic Aqua shimmer pen and added glossy accents to the pink stripes on his hat.

I will link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge  and Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

I hope you like today’s inspiration and you will pop in tomorrow for more fun!

See you,

Zsofi

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 4

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with the 4th Halloween card in my Halloween Card Series. It is all about cute owls from Clearly Besotted. I told you, I am into cutie but not spooky 😀

HalloweenCardSeries_CB_zsm01IG

I stamped and coloured the owls from the Clearly Besotted Whoo to you stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

HalloweenCardSeries_CB_zsm03

I created a stencilled background on a top folding white card base, using the Delicate Web stencil from Memory Box with Iced Spruce and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks and a stencil brush. I wanted a softer look, that is why I used the brush instead of the foam applicator.

HalloweenCardSeries_CB_zsm02

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Halloween, embossed in white on black cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut this out and adhered it to a striped patterned paper from the Doodlebug Pumpkin Party paper pad. I added a thin strip of glitter paper on the top of this and matted it with black cardstock before adhering it to the background.

HalloweenCardSeries_CB_zsm05

I popped up the owls with 3D foam squares, and added glossy accents to their eyes. In the last moment I decided to stamp a few bats in the background and also some additional sentiments from the Whoo to you stamp set. I love how those little added texts became part of the design.

HalloweenCardSeries_CB_zsm04

I will link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge  and Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

I hope you like this card and will pop in again soon for the next one! There is still time till Halloween 😀

See you,

Zsofi

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 3

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

How do you like my Halloween Card Series so far? I wish you enjoyed Day 1 and Day 2. Today I brought you a long card, which I have never done before. I usually stick to the standard A2 size, but I could not decide on which images to use from the Lawn Fawn Costume Party stamp set, that is why I needed a larger format 😀

Lawnfawnatics39_zsm01

The card itself is very simple. I stamped and coloured the images with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Lawnfawnatics39_zsm03

Then  I made my card base from white cardstock and cut a strip of black glitter paper from the Lawn Fawn Autumn Sparkle Cardstock pack. I matted it with green and purple cardstocks for interest and stamped almost all the sentiments from the Costume Party stamp set in one line using black ink.

Lawnfawnatics39_zsm06

I popped up the images with 3D foam tape, embellished them with a Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen and glossy accents here and there. It turned out so cute! These images are adorable!

I will link this project to the Lawnfawnatics #39 Bling it out! challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge  and Wednesday Challenge (Halloween/Spooky).

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 2

halloween_2018_FB

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with a one layer card as the second in my Halloween Card Series this year. I used my favourite Halloween stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs called Newton’s Boo-tiful night. They have recently launched coordinating dies too, which are fantastic!

cat lovers blog hop

Today is a special day as Janis at Her Peaceful Garden starts her yearly Cat Lovers Hop! More info on this on her blog. Newton’s Nook Designs is sponsoring this event with a 25 USD gift certificate to a randomly drawn winner. All you need to do is to link up a cat-themed project till Saturday 27th Oct to Janis’s blog.

NND_Prize25

I started with stamping and colouring the kitty on the broom with Copic markers. The coordinating die cuts that little hole above the tail of the cat, such a gorgeous little detail!

NND_CatLoversHop_zsm01

Then I made a circle mask from masking paper and adhered it to a top folding heavy weight white note card. I sponged Wilted Violet distress ink around the circle with a very light hand. Before removing the mask, I added some purple and black splatters.

NND_CatLoversHop_zsm04

After removing the mask I made the harsh line of the moon a bit softer using Milled Lavender distress ink. I also added a bit of texture with grey Copics. Then I used the Bats stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs and black soot distress ink to add a bunch of flying bats.

NND_CatLoversHop_zsm02

I stamped a sentiment from the Handwritten Halloween stamp set from Simon Says Stamp using black ink. I popped up the kitty with 3D foam squares and added a sprinkle of purple sequins and silver star confetti. A little glossy accent on the hat and some dots on the cheeks with a white gel pen finished off this one layer card.

I hope you like today’s inspiration and you will pop in again tomorrow.

See you,

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 1

halloween_2018_FB.jpg

Hello Everyone,

After last years success and feedbacks, I have decided to have a last minute Halloween Card Series this year too. Just to get you in the mood 🙂 I don’t make really scary cards, rather “not too spooky but rather cute”. I hope you will enjoy it!

My first card in the series features Pink and Main stamps, dies and stencils. I used older products but they are still available in the Pink and Main online store. I love to go back to enjoy and rediscover my stamps and dies.

P&M_Halloween_zsm01IG

For my Halloween card I stamped and coloured the images from the Witch House stamp set. It is so whimsical, I really enjoyed using unrealistic colours. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. It makes the edges so rounded, I could never achieve that with scissors!

P&M_Halloween_zsm05

I wanted a dreamy background for my scene, so I used Wilted Violet Distress Oxide with the Clouds stencil to make a night sky on a top folding white card base. I added purple, black and white splatters when I was done and spritzed it all with a clear shimmer mist. We can never have enough sparkle, can we?

P&M_Halloween_zsm06

I also die cut a piece of patterned paper from the Not too spooky paper pad using the Stitched Scallop waves die set, and backed it with a black wavy piece. I white heat embossed a sentiment on it.

P&M_Halloween_zsm03

I assembled the scene using liquid glue and 3D foam squares. I also stamped an additional 2 sentiments in black, it adds to the background and makes the scene complete. As final touches, I used a clear shimmer pen and glossy accents to emphasize some details. I also added some funny Eerie eyes from Doodlebug to the frog, and mini google eyes to the poisonous pot. Instead of doing the same with the bats, I simply used a black glaze pen to make their eyes shining.

P&M_Halloween_zsm02

I hope you got inspired and you will dig your stash and re-visit older sets. See you tomorrow!

Pink & Main and WOW Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited today as I am part of a wonderful Blog Hop between Pink and Main and WOW. I love their embossing powders, I actually own quite a few of them as their price point and size is just perfect.

42090699_10156971156679683_5272965803526848512_n

Before diving in the card I created for the occasion, let me show you how I swatch my embossing powders.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm01

I cut a bunch of Stitched Arch tags from Neenah White 110lb cardstock and used the Pattern maker stamp set to make my swatches. I inked it up with clear embossing ink and poured the different embossing powders on it. I used coffee filters to catch the remaining powders, in this way I could funnel it back to the jars. I heated them with a heat tool and used a ring binder to hold the tags together. For the white powders I used black cardstock.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm02

And now lets get in the details of my card.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm03

I stamped, coloured a bunch of images from the Eskimo kisses stamp set and used their coordinating dies to cut them out. I wanted to make a mini scene in a picture frame, so I die cut a few Cloudy Frames and stacked them together using liquid glue. I covered the top layer with clear embossing ink and poured WOW Metalline Dark Blue embossing powder on it. I heated it with my heat tool and repeated the process 3 times until I got an even and quite thick layer. It looks like a metallic chipboard frame in this way, so fancy!

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm05

I cut a light blue cardstock rectangle to back the frames and also used a Scalloped Waves die to cut my snowbanks from white glitter cardstock. If you don’t have glitter cardstock, you could easily make your own using embossing glitters from WOW!

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm04

I assembled my scene and popped up the dog and the eskimo with 3D foam squares. For the background I used a patterned paper from the Be brave paper pad. I heat embossed the sentiments from the Wishes stamp set starting with the big “Wishes”. I used WOW White Puff embossing powder to get a snowy look. The texture is amazing and touch of it is so unique too.

WOW_P&M_BlogHop_zsm07

Then I heat embossed “sending” and “warm” around it using WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I adhered the whole panel to a white top folding card base and the card is finished. I love how all the special effects make the scene so complete. And it was so easy to achieve with embossing powders.

I hope you like my card and got inspired. Make sure to hop along with both Design Teams, here is the full list of participants:
