Hello Everyone,

Did you like yesterday’s product reveals of Newton’s Nook Designs November Release? Well, today we have some beauties for you. We are showcasing another 2 stamp/die sets:

I love flowers and those birds, oh how pretty! A joy to colour! But let’s dive in the cards I created as inspiration for you.

POINSETTIA BLOOMS

I stamped and coloured the poinsettia bunch with Copic markers and die cut it with the coordinating dies.  To give it dimension in a different way, I used the coordinating die to cut a piece of white fun foam. I adhered it to the coloured die cut using liquid glue.

On a white top folding notecard I adhered a strip of black and white striped patterned paper and topped it with a tin strip of gold sparkle specialty paper. On this I mounted the die cut dimensional flower. It looks so pretty from the sides.

I stamped a sentiment from the Poinsettia Blooms set in black above the bunch of flowers and used a black pen to add dotted details. I also used a white gel pen and Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops to add a touch of golden sparkle to the flowers.

WINTER BIRDS

The new winter bird set is such a beautiful one, I have ever seen anything like that before. We don’t have cardinals in Hungary, but I always admired them for their beauty. It was my first time to colour a cardinal, I tried to be as close to real as I could. It was such a relaxing time I spent with my favourite Copics!

As I wanted the bird to be the star of the show, I kept the rest of the card simple. I blended Salty Ocean and Tumbled glass distress oxide inks on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I spritzed it with water from a mini spritzer and blotted it dry. I also splattered white paint to look like snow fall.

I white heat embossed the sentiment and the snowflakes from the set on the background and placed it behind a white panel of which I die cut a stitched oval window. I popped up the bird and the branch using 3D foam squares and scattered a couple of clear sequins all over the window.

  1. She’s a beauty!! We have a pair of cardinals in our neighbor’s backyard
and she’s hard to spot as she doesn’t have much red on her. But I hear them
    both every day!

  2. Spectacular looking cards! I love how you actually used the Poinsettia’s dies and die cut the foam pieces to the shape of them for the dimension! It looks so fantastic! And I really love the black and white striping back with the gold glitter strip for the bottom base of the card too!

  3. Like the coloring. Like the sparkle on the Poinsettias. Like how the Cardinal looks. There are different Cardinals in different parts of the US. Here in Central TX the Cardinal is bright red if Male & a dull red if Female.

  4. I LOVE that you chose to color your cardinal female – female cardinals have such a variety in their colors, the amounts of green, white and red – yours is really beautiful! Love all the shimmer & shine of your pretty poinsettia card too!
