I am so happy to join in Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year. Today is all about Newton’s Nook Designs, so I created these cuties for this awesome event.
I started with die cutting the base tag from the Fancy Edges Tag die set from patterned paper. I also die cut a white decoration for the bottom using a scalloped edge die from the set. On this I stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Stockings stamp set.
I chose the cute kitty in the box image from the Newton Loves Boxes stamp set as my focal image. I stamped it on alcohol friendly cardstock, coloured in with Copic markers and used the coordinating die to cut it out.
I also die cut 2 pine branches from white glitter cardstock using the Pines and holly die set. I added a white reinforcer to the hole and after I assembled the tag I realised that something is missing. I found the perfect little bow in the Happy Little Thoughts stamp set, which I coloured in red and added to the top of the tag. I finished it off with a chunky white twine.
I wanted to create something classy too as inspiration for those of you who are not into the cute designs that much.
I used the Tag times two die set to cut white tags and also black and white ones.
On the white tags, I gold heat embossed different sentiments from the Ornamental wishes stamp set.
I adhered the 2 tags together and added a black reinforcer before embellishing my tags with either a gold string or black and white twine.
I hope you liked today’s inspiration and you will check out Tracey’s blog for details on how to participate in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event and win some prizes!
See you soon,
It is Zsofi here and I am so excited to share with you my very first project as Design Team member for LDRS Creative! I am featuring some gorgeous Fall stamps on my card today along with a bunch of beautiful Hybrid inks. Let’s dive in how I prepared my card.
I started with stamping one of the bold leaves from the Fall Full O Leaves stamp set using the 2nd generation stamping technique. I used a stamp positioner tool to help me lining up the stamps perfectly.
I started at the left upper corner, placed the leaf stamp hanging off my white card base a little and placed a simple typing paper over the card base. I inked up the stamp with Scarlet Rose Hybrid ink and stamped it on the typing paper. Then removed the paper and immediately stamped it on the card base. I got a much lighter coloured leaf in this way. I repeated the same process once more to get a slightly darker result and cleaned my stamp with a stamp cleaner before placing it next to the dark red leaf and moving on to the next colour.
I did the same with all the ink colours: In your face orange, Bali Blue, Olive branch and Dan-d-lion. I made sure to clean the stamps very well before changing colours. When the whole card base was covered, I went back and stamped the textured part of the leaf using the same inks, just this time i stamped directly on the card base. It looks so pretty, like I used different shades of each colour but i didn’t.
I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple, so i chose a beautiful sentiment from the Happy Fall Sentiments stamp set. I stamped it on a simple white rectangle with Alloy Hybrid ink. I gave it a mat using vellum and popped it up on the card using doubled up 3D foam tape for extra dimension. I added a few clear sequins and my card is finished.
I love the pretty colours, perfect for Fall and even for Thanksgiving. I hope you got inspired and will try this technique.
Until next time, happy crafting!
