Hello Crafty Friends,
I am so excited to share with you my projects for the awesome February Release at Newton’s Nook Designs: just get ready for spring for the whole week! At least on my blog 🙂 Today our Design Team features the Loads of blooms stamp and die sets, a stand-alone die set and 2 new stencils. All new products will be available on 15/02!
For my cards I used the Loads of blooms stamp and die set only, the rest of the new products i will show you later.
I love the designs in this set and i always have a problem to choose only one for a card. So I coloured 2 of the images with Copic markers along with some extra pieces of the little flowers so that I can make 2 cards. I am longing for spring so much that I kept the colours very fresh and cheerful. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.
For both cards I used the same patterned paper pad (Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid) and cut pieces to cover an A2 sized card front. The first card is a top folding design, where I die cut a white stitched oval to carry the girl with the pretty tulips. I popped her up with 3D foam squares. I also die cut a pink scalloped rectangle using the Framework die set.
I also die cut a yellow banner from the Frames and Fags die set and a thinner, green one from the Lawn Fawn Everyday sentiments banner die set. I stamped the sentiment from the Loads of blooms stamp set and assembled the card.
As a finishing touch i added some Studio Katia Jewels in coordinating colours and also coated the tulips with a clear shimmer pen. I just could not resist adding a bit of glossy accents to the little leaves and the girl’s shoes.
For the second card I adhered the girl with the umbrella on a white Zig Zag stitched circle (MFT die) and matted it with a doll pink simple die cut circle (SSS Nested Circles). I glued the extra die cut flowers all around the girl, i think it adds to the spring feel!
The sentiment I stamped in black on a green stitched banner and added a thinner yellow one under it. Both banners I cut with the Frames and flags die set.
After assembling the card in a vertical layout, I added clear shimmer to the dots on her dress and glossy accents on the boots, buttons, pocket, on the handle of the umbrella and the middle of the flowers.
