Spring is in the air for sure, at least in Hungary. The sunshine is lovely and hearing the birds singing make me smile. My newest card features the fresh and adorable Woodland Spring stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs.
As always, I started with stamping and colouring the deer with the cute bird with Copic markers. I also stamped a bunch of flowers as I wanted to create a wreath. I used fresh springy colours and cut the images with their coordinating dies.
I die cut an oval from kraft cardstock with Simon Says Stamps stitched oval die, adhered the deer and stamped the sentiment in black. Then I arranged the die cut flowers on the bottom and top to form a floral frame.
I chose a bright pink checked patterned paper from the Sunny Studio Gingham Linen Rainbow Petite Prints paper pad and ran it through my die cutting machine with the postage stamp die from the Newton’s Nook Designs Frameworks set. I mounted it on a white card base and used 3D foam squares to pop up the focal panel.
As a finishing touch I went over the flowers with a clear shimmer pen and added tiny little pearls to the centers: gold and white. I also used some glossy accents to emphasize some details like the beak and the ribbon. I used a white gel pen to add freckles and made the eyes and nose shiny with a black glaze pen.
I will upload this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.
I hope you liked today’s inspiration and will pop in again soon for some more spring card ideas.
