Pink and Main 5th Birthday Blog Hop

Hello Crafty friends,

Today is a very special day as Pink and Main is turning 5! YAY! To celebrate this lovely anniversary, we have a fun Blog Hop with special guests! The fabulous March Release goes live today as well. And of course we have fun prizes too. So make sure to hop along with us and let the party begin!

For my card today I started with stamping the cute little bee from the Bee Day stamp set and coloured him with Copic markers. Here are the colours I have used:

I used the coordinating dies to cut him out. I am always amazed how rounded the edges are and really love when a die cuts the little holes in between 2 lines too!

I also die cut the word Celebrate from dark red cardstock 2 times and stacked them together. While I was at it, I also die cut 2 stitched rectangles with one of the dies from the Stitched Rectangles 2 die set: one grey and one blue. I chose these colours to match the balloon patterned paper from the new It’s a Party paper pad.

I started assembling the card: adhered the patterned paper to the cardbase, attached the blue rectangle at an angle under the grey one. On this I stamped the sentiment in black and used liquid glue to adhere the die cut word. The little bee i popped up with 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I used a white gel pen on his eyes, a clear shimmer pen on the balloon and the wings and covered the black parts of his body and the balloon with glossy accents. I love how it turned out, so shiny.
