Hello Everyone,
I am super late with my entry for the MFT Sketch Challenge, but yesterday’s rain totally inspired me to make this cute card.

I staretd with stamping the girl with the big umbrella from the Birdie Brown Rain or shine stamp set on Copic friendly cardstock, and coloured her with Copic markers. I used my favourite colour combo for this spring: pink-yellow-aqua.

Then I used the Brick wall stencil on Bristol smooth cardstock and applied gently some Black Soot distress oxide ink. I die cut it with the Essential Cover Up Horizontal die and took the Mini Raindrops stencil and added Brutus Monroe glitter paste over it in teal colour. I love the layered stencil effect! When the panel was dry I added a dark teal mat to it and adhered it to a dark grey note card.

I arranged the girl, the puddle and some die cut clouds (I used the stamp set’s coordinating dies) and also heat embossed a sentiment on a bright pink cardstock strip. Apart from the sentiment – which I popped up with 3D foam squares – everything is adhered flat with liquid glue.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the umbrella and used a white gel pen to add highlights.

I will link this up to the MFT Sketch Challenge #431.

I hope you got inspired too by the capricious April weather and enjoyed my card tutorial. Please join me later today for the Newton’s Nook Design’s April Reveals Day 2 projects too.
See you,
Zsofi
