Chirpy chirp

I am back with another fun card I created with some of the new products at LDRS Creative. If you like to make scenes on your cards but don’t want them to be bulky, I will show you an easy way in today’s tutorial.

I started with stamping and masking the cute sheep from the Polkadoodles Chripy chirp stamp set on Bristol Smooth cardstock. After all of them were covered with masks, I placed the Coming up daisies stencil over them and sponged Alloy Hybrid ink on.

Before removing the masks from the sheep, I applied Key Lime pie Hybrid ink over the Rainy day stencil, to create some grass.

I also used the cloudy edge of the same stencil to add the cloudy sky using Swimming hole Hybrid ink.

When the scene was ready, I removed the masks, stamped the sentiment with Raven Hybrid ink and added a tiny bit of shading with some grey Copic markers.

I cut down the panel a bit, added a black strip under it and cut a 1 inch wide piece from one of the papers from the Puddle Jumper paper pad. I assembled the card and added tiny little google eyes to the sheep. The look even cuter with the moving eyes, so much fun to play with it! So much going on on this simple card, yet it is not bulky at all, easy to mail!

Puddle Jumper

I am so excited to share with you my card made with a fabulous new stamp set from the May Release at LDRS Creative.

I started with stamping the girl with the umbrella on alcohol ink friendly cardstock, coloured her with my Copics and fussy cut the image with scissors.

Then I heat embossed 3 of the sentiments from the stamp set with white embossing powder on purple cardstock, and cut them down to rectangles.

For the background I chose a rainfall patterned paper from the Puddle jumper pad, I matted it with navy blue cardstock and adhered it to a top folding white notecard. I popped up the girl with 3D foam squares, adhered the sentiments under each other and added some clear gems as embellishments.

I love to add some sparkle and shine to my coloured images, so I made the umbrella shimmery with a clear shimmer pen and covered the rain boots, buttons and the dots on the umbrella with glossy accents.

Blog Hop

I hope you like my card today and will check back tomorrow again for more LDRS Creative fun! The new release is available in the LDRS Creative online store!

See you,

Floral birthday with Pink and Main

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with a pretty floral birthday card featuring the new Daisy dies from Pink and Main. I am a huge fan of flowers and love to make card with die cuts only. Well, this one has a bit of stamping but it comes together so fast and easy.

First I started with die cutting the Daisy 3 times from white cardstock and layered them on top of each other tiny offset for a full look. I also die cut 2 leaves from pastel green cardstock and the middle of the flower from yellow cardstock (both layers).

While I was at die cutting, I cut the biggest tag from the Arch tag die set from a green patterned paper (Back to basics paper pad). I also die cut the word Wishes from heavy weight white cardstock.

After assembling the flower and placing every element on the tag, I decided to white heat emboss the rest of the sentiment above the die cut word.

I kept the embellishments to the minimum to allow the pretty daisy to be the star of the card. I added some glitter Nuvo drops to the holes in the middle of the flower and tied a yellow twine around the card on the top.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy birthday card and will try this design yourself. If you vary the sentiments and the colours of the flowers, you can create a bunch of clean and simple cards to add to your stash.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Happy birthday Mom!

Hello Everyone,

May is full of birthdays for us, also my mom has hers in this month. I wanted to make her something super special to express how much I love her.

This card was heavily inspired by the current Lawnfawnatics #53 Challenge Spectacular skies. And by the current weather in Budapest: so unpredictable with lots of rain.

I started with creating the smiley flower: i die cut all the elements of the Stitched Flower frame die from Bristol Smooth cardstock and used Distress inks to add colour to it: Mowed Lawn for the stem and leaves, Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar for the flower. The middle of the flower I die cut with the Outside in stitched flower and added Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to it.

I also die cut grass with a grassy hillside border die and coloured it with Mowed Lawn Distress ink again.

Then I worked on the background: on a piece of Bristol Smooth paper I applied Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean Distress inks, sprayed it with water and dabbed it off with a paper towel. When it was all dry, I die cut it with the Rainy Backdrop portrait die and backed it with silver glitter paper.

I stamped and coloured with Copics the fairies from my favourite stamp set: Fairy friends. I die cut them with the coordinating dies, added some clear shimmer to their wings and a little gem in their buns.

I assembled the scene, adhered everything flat apart from the fairies which I popped up with 3D foam squares, I die cut the Happy birthday border sentiment from white cardstock and the Mom from pink cardstock 2 times and stacked them together.

I will link this project up to the Lawnfawnatics #53 Challenge and also to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Bright Colors Moodboard.

I hope you liked my card (my mom definitely did!) and will pop in again soon for more inspiration.

See you soon,

Zsofi

Sweet wedding with Pink and Main

Hello Everyone,

I am here today with a sweet wedding card I created with the newest release from Pink and Main.

I started with stamping the cake and the champagne from the Happily Ever After stamp set on smooth white cardstock and coloured them with Copics. I imagined a pink-gold card so I kept the colours simple. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I also die cut 4 frames from gold cardstock using the Cloudy frames dies and used liquid glue to adhere them together. I added heavy weight vellum to the back of it.

Then I worked on the background. On Bristol Smooth cardstock I stamped the Sprinkles background stamp with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink. As this ink is a slow drying one, I could easily heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. Then I applied Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink on the whole panel very gently.

When the background was dry I die cut it with the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle 2 die set. I assembled the card on a top folding white card base using 3D foam squares to pop up the cake and the parts of the champagne glasses hanging off the frame.

I also stamped a sentiment (I love the pretty hand written font) on white cardstock with Delicata Gold Pigment ink. It matched my frame so well! As I was afraid that the ink smears, I covered it with clear embossing powder and melted it with a heat gun. I fussy cut it with my scissors leaving a bit of a white frame and popped it up on the bottom of the frame.

As a finishing touch I covered the champagne with a clear shimmer pen and added glossy accents to the decoration. Such a happy card with a lot of shiny details to “touch”.

I hope you liked today’s inspiration and will come back soon for more!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Tiffany style birthday – Pink and Main Sneak Peek

Hello Everyone,

I am here today with a Sneak Peek at the upcoming May Release from Pink and Main (available on the 20th May). I was so eager to try the Flower Cover die with the faux glass technique. I love the Tiffany lamps so much and wanted to get a similar look just on a card and with soft colours.

So I die cut the Flower cover die 3 times from heavy weight white cardstock. I adhered the first layer to a white card base using drops of liquid glue.

Then I added colour with my Copics, using 3 shades for each colour family: yellow, pink and blue. I wasn’t very careful with the colours running out of the lines as I knew I would cover it with another layer of the cover die.

When the colouring was done, I went over the petals with a clear shimmer pen for a subtle sparkle. I adhered the other 2 layers and filled all the petals with glossy accents. I set it aside to dry for a few hours.

Meanwhile I created the sentiment: I white heat embossed the Happy Birthday one from Vertical greetings on pink cardstock and cut it down to a very narrow strip. I matted it with yellow and finally with a blue strip, to get more dimension and play with the colours I used on the background.

When everything was dry and in place, I added some gold glossy dots to the middle of the flowers. Looks so elegant! And it seems like glass in real life!

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration. Make sure to subscribe, not to miss any of the sneak peeks!

Happy crafting!

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the final day of the May reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, I hope you enjoy the week so far. We are showcasing the new dog stamp/die set called Walking Woofs. All these products will be available tomorrow, 17/05!

Here is my card:

When I first saw this set it reminded me of a painting. Maybe that pretty hat but I imagined a romantic scene, on a cloudy day our lady walking all her 4 legged friends. The scene in my head was so delicate and soft that it shouted for watercolours.

So I stamped the image and the sentiment on Ranger Distress Watercolour cardstock and used my Daniel Smith sample palettes (available at Simon Says Stamp) to add a soft watercolour look. It was totally stepping out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed the process so much.

When the panel was dry, I die cut it with the scalloped rectangle die from Frames and flags. I adhered some pretty patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs (French kiss) to a top folding white card base and added the painted panel. Then I cut another patterned paper piece with bold flowers to cover the bottom part and added a thin strip of Peacock cardstock.

It was a hard decision to skip the embellishments, but I took the risk. I admit, I like the end result this way more.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

It is Day 3 of the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs with a very busy Newton. He knows that life is about some hard work too 🙂 The new fun set is called Newton Cleans up and it has hilarious sentiments. It also comes with coordinating dies (sold separately). All new products will be available on 17/05!

Here is my card:

This time I made the background first using Distress Oxide inks and a Life Changing brush from Picket Fence Studios. I applied Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch in a light layer directly on a top folding card base.

Then I added more ink through the Cascading Stars stencil and before removing it, I sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz for a subtle sparkle.

Then I coloured Newton with the washing using similar Copic colours to match the background. I can totally relate to this image, having a sporty husband and 2 little kids, washing is the story of my life 😀

I die cut a white tag using the Fancy Edges tag die set and also the reinforcer from blue cardstock. While I was at it, I die cut 2 banners: a black and a blue violet one using the Frames and Flags die set.

I assembled the tag, stamped a sentiment with black on it, popped up the image with 3D foam squares and added black and white twine. After attaching it to the card base, I embellished it with some sequins from Simon Says Stamp.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

It is Day 2 of the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. After the movies we are into flowers. The new Dainty Daisies is a pretty floral stamp set with coordinating dies. All new products will be available on Friday 17/05!

Here is my card for today:

I started with stamping and colouring the daisies with Copic markers. I used only light greys for shading a little, but I kept the colouring simple.

I die cut it with the coordinating die and another piece from black cardstock. I layered them on top of each other slightly offset to get a shadow effect.

Then I used the Flags and Frames die set to cut the rounded stitched rectangle from heavy weight vellum and also a scalloped stitched die to cut from rainbow patterned paper as the background. I love the cheerful colours of this paper from Sunny Studio (Spring Sunburst collection).

After adhering all layers I die cut a black banner and white heat embossed the sentiment on it. I popped it up with 3D foam squares. I used liquid glue to adhere the vellum and hid the adhesive behind the flower so it does not show through.

I covered all the petals with Tonic Aqua clear shimmer and added glossy accents in the middle of each flower. I also added black dots around the flower with a black glaze pen. As a final embellishment I added some crystals from Lucy’s Little Things around the sentiment.

It’s a beautiful day! – LDRS Creative

Hello Everyone,

I am back with a cute scene card I created for the LDRS Creative blog with the Mini Winnie Let’s Go stamp/die set. I love to build scenes and also enjoy coordinating dies as I am not the best at fussy cutting. The Mini Winnie stamp/die set has both the stamps and dies in one pack, for a really good price!

I started with stamping the little girl in the car on some alcohol ink friendly cardstock, coloured her with my alcohol markers and cut her out with the coordinating die.

Then I cut a rectangle from another piece of white cardstock and stamped the hills and clouds on it from the On the move Landscape set. I made the clouds thicker with some masking and using the single cloud stamp in the set. I coloured it all with alcohol markers and backed it with a thin black mat. I used the stitched die in the Lanscape set to cut the road from grey cardstock an added some shading with alcohol markers.

I stamped the sentiment in the sky with Raven Hybrid ink and popped up the girl in the card with 3D foam squares.

For the background I chose a pretty patterned paper from the Daisy Delight paper pad. After assembling the card I added some glossy accents to the bow, bumpers and wheels. I also covered the card with a clear shimmer pen to make it more girlish 🙂

I hope you liked my card today and will pop in soon for more inspiration. Happy crafting!
