Happy summer – ft. Lawn Fawn

Hello Everyone,

We are back from a mini holiday in Austria, which was breathtaking and so relaxing. It is a “definitely need to visit again” type of place, despite the long drive. I was so busy before the trip that I had no time to play along the current Lawnfawnatics Challenge #55 (Mood board and colour inspiration) and the new Simon Says Stamp Instagram Challenge: summer time fun.

Yesterday night I squeezed in some colouring time and today morning I finished this cutie:

I started with die cutting the Tropical Backdrop die from Neenah Solar White cardstock and coloured it with my Copics.

I took a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and created a sunset background using Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks.

On a leftover piece I also blended Mermaid lagoon Distress Oxide, added some water splatters and sprayed it with Avery Elle Clear shimmer mist for a subtle sparkle. When it was dry, I die cut it with the new Stitched Simple Wavy Borders die. While I was die cutting, I also cut the sentiment from black cardstock with the Happy Summer line border die.

For the stamped images I used an older set called Life is good (one of my all time favourites), I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

After assembling the scene, I framed it all with a white Stitched frame so it looks like a picture to hang on the wall. Could be a nice summer home decor too. I stamped a few birds from the same stamp set with black ink, added some glossy accents to the sea critters and my card was finished.

I will also link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

I hope you liked today’s card and will be back soon for more inspiration.

See you,

Zsofi

CARD 2

For today I brought you a stinkin’ cute card as we should express our love whenever possible. Right?

I started with stamping the skunks and the heart from the Stinkin’ Amazing stamp set, coloured them with my Copic markers and fussy cut them out strictly next to the black outline.

I selected a couple of patterned papers from the Daisy Delight paper pad and I die cut a fancy oval from on of them using the new Practically Oval die set. I also cut a strip from a green toned one and selected a striped one to be the background.

For the focal panel I chose a light grey cardstock and used another die from the Practically Oval die set. I arranged the coloured images and white heat embossed a sentiment on a thin strip of black cardstock.

After assembling the card I added tiny heart sequins around the skunks and covered the heart with glossy accents so it looks like an epoxy sticker. I finished the card with red and white twine.

CARD 1

I am so happy to share with you my project made with the new Polka Doodles Spot on stamp set and some of the scene building dies.

I started with stamping and colouring the images from this cute set using Copic markers and i fussy cut them out with my scissors.

To create a little scene I die cut some grass from green cardstock using the new In the grass die set. I also cut some white stitched clouds using the In a cloudy sky die set and also made a layered smiling sun with the Here comes the sun die set.

I layered everything flat on a kraft card base and stamped the sentiment with Raven Hybrid ink.

As a finishing touch i had to add some clear shimmer to the sun (as it has to shine bright, right?) and dots of glossy accents on the beaks of the birds and on the middle of the flower. I used a black glaze pen on the eyes to make them shiny.

BLOG HOP

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and the blog hop. Make sure to check back tomorrow as well for Day 2 projects!

It’s 5 o’clock. Cheers! – Pink and Main

Hello Everyone,

Iam back today with a very refreshing card I made with the newly released Happy Hour stamp set from Pink and Main. Isn’t it perfect for any summer birthdays? Even for guys. Or just because 🙂 I love lemonade in the summer heat!

I started with a strip of Bristol Smooth cardstock and stamped couple of the drinks from the Happy hour stamp set with waterproof black ink. I coloured them with Tombow markers and stamped a sentiment on the top with black ink.

I also decided to add some Cheers! as well which I stamped in green around the glasses. I gave this panel a black mat and adhered it to a piece of green bouquet patterned paper from The Shore paper pad.

As a finishing touch I added some clear shimmer to the ice cubes and emphasized all the fruits with glossy accents.

I also added some yellow and green gems which add so much to the fresh look.

I hope you liked my card today and will check back later for more fun projects.

See you soon,

Zsofi

Sending you sunshine – Pink and Main

Hello Everyone,

The new June release from Pink and Main is almost in the shops, only one more sleep! Are you excited? So many gorgeous inspiration so far! I have one more for you using the fabulous The Shore paper pad and the fun Summer Wreath Decor dies.

Summer means flip flops and sunglasses and water for me. I am actually just preparing for a mini vacation in the Alps in Austria with my kids and friends and imagining the crystal clear lakes there inspired my card.

I started with creating the lake scene: I cut an A2 sized piece from the water patterned paper and a small strip from the wooden one. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the wooden panel on the background as if it was the pier.

I die cut the flip flop base from blue fun foam and added the topper from white cardstock. I embellished it with a flower sequin. The sunglasses I die cut 3 times from peacock cardstock and once from black to inlay as a glass.

I cut a corner of a special fun foam which is furry and reminded me of a fluffy towel. On this I adhered the sunglasses, the glass part I filled with glossy accents for extra shine and tuck a seashell under it which I die cut from Desert Storm cardstock and inked with Gathered Twigs Distress ink.

On the water I adhered a die cut Sunshine sentiment and stamped the rest from the coordinating stamp set above it with black ink. A few iridescent jewels finished this cool card.

I hope you like today’s sneak peek and inspiration. Get your shopping lists ready as all the new release products will be available tomorrow!

Sea you soon,

Inky Paws Challenge #100

Hello Everyone,

I am here today with a very special post on the occasion of the #100 Inky Paws Challenge. YAY! What a gorgeous number! The task is easy: you choose any of the previous Colour, Sketch or Theme challenges and play it again. And there is a bonus link up: you can choose your favourite NND product to create with and enter it in the challenge too. All details you can read on the Inky Paws Challenge blog.

If you follow me for a while you may know that I started my crafty career with Newton’s Nook Designs as part of their Inky Paws Challenge Design Team. I was always a big fan of the theme, colour and sketch challenges they came up with and the year I spent on the team was such a fun one!

For today I chose the Colour Challenge #50 which was my very first one as a DT member. Here are the colours and my card from back then.

And now the replay:

I chose the beautiful Peony Blooms stamp set, stamped all the images with black ink and coloured them with my Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I used Seedless preserves, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade distress oxide inks to make an ink blended background and distressed it with water splatters. I also used one of the Argyle stencils to add a bit of texture to it using the same inks.

When it was dry, I die cut the panel with the postage frame die from the Frameworks die set. I stamped the sentiment in the top middle part using the rocking technique and Seedless preserves and Worn Lipstick Oxide inks. I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it stand out more.

I adhered it to a white note card and placed the peonies on the bottom part. I used liquid glue to adhere them and popped up the middle bunch with thin 3D foam tape. I finished the card with orange jewels scattered around the sentiment and drops of glossy accents in the middle of the flowers.

I hope you like my card and you got inspired to play along. There are many chances to win, so this is the challenge you should not miss! Don’t forget to check the Inky Paws Challenge blog for extra inspiration from both Design Teams. Fabulous projects, I promise you!

See you soon,

Starfish wishes with Pink and Main

Hello Everyone,

Iam back again with a sneak peek of the gorgeous new release coming on the 20th June from Pink and Main. My card features a few of the new items: the Mermaid Tail stencil, the Starfish wishes stamp/die set and also the Reverse Scallop Circle dies!

I started with creating an alcohol inked background on Yupo paper using purple, pink and teal shades. I applied the inks with a little felt applicator using a dabbing motion. It really looks like deep see for me!

Then I stamped and coloured the cute seahorses with Copic markers, and used the coordinating die to cut them out. I added some extra details with a white gel pen and a sparkle pen and also used glossy accents to make them look shiny.

For the background I laid the Mermaid Tail stencil on a peacock cardstock and applied Peacock feathers distress oxide ink. Before removing the stencil, I sprayed it with an iridescent sparkle spray for a subtle tone-on-tone shine. When it was all dry, I heat embossed a sentiment on the bottom of this panel using white embossing powder.

I cut the alcohol inked background with a Stitched circle die and framed it with a purple and a white Reverse Scallop Circle die. I layered them on top of each other a bit offset, I love the look and dimension I got this way! I popped up the seahorses with 3D foam tape and my card was all done.

I hope you got inspired and enjoyed this sneak peek. Check back later for more inspiration with the new release.

Till next time, happy crafting!

My sunshine – LDRS Creative

Hello Everyone,

It is Zsofi here today with a cute and sunny card created with stamps from the latest release of LDRS Creative.

I started with stamping Holly from the Chirpy Chirp stamp set on alcohol friendly white cardstock with Raven Hybrid ink. I coloured her with alcohol markers and cut the panel down.

I chose 3 patterned papers from the Puddle jumper paper pad with the same pattern just in different colours. The yellow one I cut down to 4,25*5,5 to cover and A2 sized note card. The dark purple I used as a mat for the focal panel and from the blue I cut quarter inch strips.

After assembling the card and popping up the coloured image with 3D foam squares, I started to look for the perfect sentiment. I found it in the Puddle Jumper stamp set: on a small piece of white cardstock I stamped the word sunshine with the rocking technique using Dan-d-lion and Lantern yellow hybrid inks. I repeated it a few times and as a last layer I stamped it again with clear embossing ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. For a more dimensional and shinier look you can repeat the clear embossing a few times (I made it 3 times for this smooth and raised look).

Above the heat embossed sentiment I added another one using Mrs Periwinkle hybrid ink and added a layer of the dark purple patterned paper. As embellishment I used the 2 little butterflies from the Chirpy Chirp set and added little confetti sequins on the stripes. I used a clear shimmer pen on the wings of the butterflies and covered them all with glossy accents, just as the ribbons and the middle of the flowers. I love to add these details, they make a big difference to an already pretty card.

I hope you got inspired on mixing up your stamp sets and giving them a new look. Until next time, happy crafting!

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We reached the final day of the June release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, and as always the cutest is saved for last! I am in love with the Woodland critter series, and now our favourite wildlings are going on a picnic!

For my first card I created a forest scene using Bristol Smooth cardstock and Distress Oxide inks. For the grass I used Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and a bit of Lucky Clover to add contrast. I cut it with the Land Border dies. I used the same colours for the tree crowns, just more of the dark colours and cut that with a Sky border die.

For the trees I used the Forest scene builder and Antique linen/Walnut stain Distress Oxides.

The sunny background is made with Squeezed Lemonade and I Sponged Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink through the Sunscape stencil. Before removing it I sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz for a subtle sparkle.

I stamped and coloured all images with Copics and cut them ou with their coordinating dies. I popped them up on the scene using 3D foam squares.

I stamped a sentiment from the set in black in between two trees, directly on the background. I also stamped a couple of ants on the grass and made them pop with a black glaze pen. I added some white gel pen highlights and some dots with my clear sparkle pen for more interest.

For my second card I had to use the cute bear holding the watermelon on its own, I think he deserves full attention.

I kept this card very simple, just added some stitching texture to a piece of kraft cardstock using a Reverse Confetti die, cut a strip of green gingham paper where I black heat embossed some ants and a sentiment.

I popped up my favourite bear with 3D foam squares and matted the strip with a green cardstock before adhering it to the card.

A drop of glossy accents on the nose and a black glaze pen on the seeds finished this card off.

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 3

Hello Crafty friends,

We are halfway through the June release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs and still there is so much cuteness we need to show you! Today is all about Newton, our favourite naughty kitty, with 2 stamp/die sets:

Here is my card for the Newton Hangs out set:

I really wanted to create a naughty scene, where poor kitty is in trouble. So I placed the tree on the river bank and added a lot of birds teasing the kitty.

As always I coloured the image first and also added the birds from Newton’s Birdhouse to increase the crowd 🙂 I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

To create the scene I used the land border dies to cut the grass and the river bank from coloured cardstock and I cut the river with the sea border dies. I also cut the crown of the tree with a sky border die.

I assembled the scene on a stitched blue square panel and ran it all through again with the same die to get the stitching details consistently everywhere. I also white heat embossed the mini clouds from the Newton Hangs out stamp set on vellum and adhered them to the card with dots of liquid glue.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a black banner (Frames an Flags die set) and adhered it to the card sticking out from the scene for more interest. As a finishing touch I added glossy accents to Newton’s collar and the bird beaks, emphasized the birds’ eyes with a black glaze pen and added a bit o sparkle with a clear shimmer pen to the clouds and waves.

My second card is a scene one too, featuring the Newton’s picnic set.

I love this image so much, I coloured it with Copic markers again and cut it out with the coordinating dies along with a lot of ants.

I adhered a red gingham patterned paper on a grassy border and then on a light blue panel. I ran this through my die cutting machine with the 2 biggest dies from the Frames and flags set, so I got a frame and an inner piece.

I stamped the sentiment in black, mounted the basket with 3D foam squares and adhered all the little bugs around.

I stamped another sentiment on a small white stitched circle and added it to the side of the frame which is popped up with 3D foam squares too for more dimension.

A bit of sparkle on the wings, glossy accents here and there and a black glaze pen on the ants and seeds made this card super cute.
