I am so busy crafting nowadays and I cannot wait to show you all I was working on! Until the time comes, I want to show you the card I made for the Lawnfawnatics Challenge #56: Beautiful beaches.
I love the pictures we see in catalogs with many umbrellas on the sandy beach with the turqoise sea in the background. This picture in my head inspired the card I made for the challenge.
I started with creating the background on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I masked off the horizon with purple masking tape and sponged some Tumbled glass Distress Oxide for the sky. I kept the colours stronger on the top and lighter towards the masked area.
Then I changed the mask and sponged Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks, I placed a piece of typing paper on the bottom of the card where the sand would be and sprayed the sea part with Avery Elle Shimmer spray. I love the subtle sparkle and texture it gives.
The last part was to sponge some Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxides for the sand. I kept the colours very light towards the sea for a realistic look. I covered the sea and the sky parts with typing paper and added some diluted distress oxide splatters using the same colours. I also splattered some white acrylic paint for even more texture.
When it was all dry, I die cut a Cross Stitched rectangle in the middle and matted the die cut part with a slighty bigger white cardstock. I have stamped the sentiment in black from the On the beach stamp set on the sky.
It was time to stamp and colour the elements for the scene: I used the On the beach set and used Copics to add colour. I die cut everything with their coordinating dies.
After assembling the scene, i added some glossy accents and white gel pen highlights, and finished the card with a snow marker to create the waves on the shore, I just dabbed some and heated it with my heat gun until it puffed up. Isn’t it cool?
I will link this project to the Lawnfawnatics Challenge #56 and to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Life on the ocean waves.
I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration and will pop in tomorrow for another cute one. Next week is going to be super busy here on my blog, so subsrcibe if you do not want to miss any of the new projects! You can also follow me on Instagram. Thanks for your support!
