The best competition for cardmakers is the Card Design Superstar contest organised by My Favorite Things. I wish it came a week later or I had more time, I would love to compete in all categories. But I managed only one, Clean and Simple Genius.
For my card I stamped the cutest puppy ever from the BB Happy Pawlidays set and coloured him with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut him out.
Then I worked on the winter background: I added blue and purple shades of alcohol inks on Yupo paper and blew them to move and mix. I set it aside to dry. When it was all dry I applied White Glitz glitter gel through the card sized star confetti stencil.
Until it was drying I looked for the perfect tag die and I found it among the Tag Builder Blueprints 4 set and cut 3 from white cardstock. When the alcohol inked background was dry I cut it with the same die and stacked them together.
I white heat embossed a small sentiment on the top of the tag and popped up the dog with 3D foam squares. On a white notecard I adhered 2 thin strips of white glitter cardstock to make it more festive.
I used white ribbon and white twine on the tag and mounted it on the card base. A little clear shimmer on the cap and glossy accents on the nose and light bulbs finished it off.
I wish you like my card for the contest and will come back tomorrow for more inspiration.
