Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle Release Blog Hop! Heffy Doodle released a ton of new, exciting products in January and today we are celebrating with a blog hop to bring you even more inspiration – and prizes, too!

CARD 1

I started with stamping and colouring the images from the Quill you be mine stamp set using Copic markers. I adore these critters, they are super cute! I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

As I wanted the hedgehog holding a heart to face the other direction, I mirror stamped it and cut it out with the coordinating dies from the back. (I was following this video by Jennifer McGuire)

I cut a bunch of hearts from Cherry on top cardstock using the Whole lotta hearts dies. I did not separate my dies so with one pass through my Big Shot I could get a bunch of hearts in different sizes. On a strip of white cardstock I stamped the sentiment from the Special Day sentiment duos with Altenew Heart beat ink and then once more with Versamark ink so I could heat emboss it with clear embossing powder.

I scattered 3 bigger hearts and popped up the die cut hedgies with 3D foam squares. Then I used the smaller hearts to fill the white space. I matted the focal panel with dark brown cardstock and added two Grassy lass borders cut from kraft cardstock. It matches the hedgehogs, don’t you think?

I could not resist adding some finishing touches: I used a clear shimmer pen on the hearts the critters are holding and covered them with glossy accents. I also used a black glaze pen on their noses to make them shiny and added a few strokes with my white gel pen to the quills.

Before popping it up with dimensional adhesive I covered a white note card with a red patterned paper (Taylored Expressions Formula for love).

CARD 2

I had another hedgehog coloured and I felt it was so abandoned, so I had to put it on a card. I die cut 2 nesting Stitched hearts: one from white and one from red cardstock. I layered them on top of each other and adhered the die cut critter in the middle.

I cut a square from red and white checked paper (MFT) and matted it with a slightly bigger red one. I used my paper trimmer for this. I mounted it all to a kraft square note card measuring 4.25*4.25 inches.

The sentiment is made wit the I love you die: I cut the letters from white cardstock and the shadows from dark brown. I love that the letter “I” has a small heart on top! I added an extra sentiment from the Quill you be mine set, stamped on kraft cardstock with brown ink.

I added a few enamel hearts and covered the one in the paws of the hedgehog with glossy accents, just as the nose of it to make it shining. So cute, isn’t it?
