Birthday shaker – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

I have a really cute interactive card for you today, created the awesome Puppy Playtime set from the latest release of Newton’s Nook Designs. I am in love with these dogs, and after my last puppy party card I had some extra pups ready to party too.

This time I gave them a huge balloon which is actually a shaker. I used the Balloon shaker die set to create it: the frame I die cut from holographic blue cardstock and the from a 3D foam adhesive – makes it so easy to create a shaker. With the background die I cut a piece of acetate and also Bristol Smooth cardstock which I inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Uplifting wishes set in blue directly on the background and added clear seed beads inside.

The background is inked with Distress Oxide inks and I used the Balloon stencil with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink over the sky to create a tone on tone look. Before removing the stencil I sprayed it with Shimmer Spritz for a subtle sparkle. On the bottom I used the Hills and Grass stencil and Twisted Citron / Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks.

I cut the panel with the stitched scalloped rectangle from Frames and Flags and assembled the scene. The big balloon I attached to a little bone with a string cut from golden glitter cardstock.

As a finishing touch I added clear simmer to the party hats and covered the bone and noses with glossy accents. Isn’t this card adorable?

I hope you like today’s inspiration and will check back soon for more!

See you,

Zsofi
