Send Uplifting Smiles Blog Hop – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

Today the Newton’s Nook Designs and Inky Paws Challenge Team members are hopping along to Send Uplifting Smiles! Our goal today is to help brighten your day with uplifting and encouraging cards that will make you smile! We know that many of you are under stay home orders to help fight the spread of the Coronavirus and during this time of social distancing it’s more important than ever to keep in touch with family and friends! We encourage you to spend some time creating and sending cards to those who matter to you! Check out all the stops in this hop to get inspired on ways you can send uplifting smiles!

For my card today I chose the super cute Delightful doxies stamp and die set. I stamped the dog and a bunch of balloons with black ink and coloured them with my Copic markers.I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the background I sponged Tumbled Glass Distress ink on Bristol Smooth cardstock and using the Cloudy sky stencil, I added Salty Ocean Distress ink. Then I shifted the stencil ad added another layer of clouds with Blueprint sketch distress ink. On the bottom I applied Mowed Lawn ink through the Hills and grass stencil. I cut the panel down with a die from Frameworks.

The sentiment is from the Uplifting wishes set, stamped dierectly on the clouds with blue violet ink. I assembled the scene using 3D foam squares under the dog and the balloons so they can float.

I adhered the panel to a kraft top folding notecard and added a ton of clear shimme to the balloons. I also added glossy accents to the butterflies and little hearts on the balloons. Isn’t it gorgeous?
