Hello Everyone,
It is the final day of the June release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. Today we have 2 smaller sets to show you: the super cute Porch Swing Friends and the beautiful Roses set. Both of them come with coordinating dies! All new products will be available on Friday 19th June 2020!
CARD 1
For my first card I started stamping and colouring the Porch Bench Friends using my Copic markers. I used neutral colours for the animals and went really bright with the pillows. I cut them all with their coordinating dies. After die cutting I used a BG11 Copic marker to colour the white parts of the image so it would sink in the background more.
To set the scene I needed some trees which I cut from woodgrain cardstock with the Forest scene builder dies and the canopy which I cut using the Sky border dies. I used Distress Oxide inks to add some colour to these and I added some splatters too for more texture.
On an A2 sized card base I sponged the new Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink (ahh so pretty!) and added some splatters from the same colour and white watercolour. I also added some droplets from a clear shimmer mist.
When assembling the scene I used 3D foam squares for the canopy and the coloured image, the tree trunks I adhered flat. The sentiment is die cut 2 times from white cardstock and once from a velvet red one and layered on top of each other. I love that the Porch Swing Friends coordinating die has this extra sentiment!
I made the critters noses shiny with glossy accents and added a bit of clear shimmer to the red parts of the accessories. Oh how I wish to relax on a swing like this!
CARD 2
I have recently surprised myself with a big set of Karin Brush markers. These are water based markers with really intense pigments in them and I felt the Roses stamp would be the prefect one to try them on.
I heat embossed the image on Ranger watercolour cardstock using Hero Arts black sparkle embossing powder. Then I added a tiny drop of colour from the markers and moved it with a waterbrush. The colours are amazing and so bright! I used only one pink and one green marker! When it was dry I cut it out with the coordinating dies.
I also cut some rounded stitched rectangles using Frames squared and patterned papers. I layered them on top of each other at an angle on a top folding white card base.
I used a small rectangle from the Slimline Frames and Windows die to hold my roses and added a white heat embossed sentiment on a black strip of cardstock to it. The card base this time is 4,25 x 4,25 inches.
