I have a super cool ice cream card for you today which is perfect for all the summer birhdays! I love ice-cream and I was longing to use the Summer Scoops set from Newton’s Nook Designs for a long time. Here is what I came up with.
I usually love the black outline when stamping images but this time I wanted something different so I white heat embossed the images on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used my Karin Brushmarkers to paint them and when they were dry I cut them out with their coordinating dies.
Then I created my shaped card base using the Circle Frames die set: I cut two of the biggest scalloped circle die from white cardstock, scored one of them like 1/4 of an inch from the top and adhered the little flap to the other scalloped circle. In this way I got a scalloped circle card base, so fun!
I used the next circle die in the set to cut a light blue circle and adhered it to the card base. I arranged the ice creams and used liquid glue and 3D foam squares to pop them up.
The sentiment I white heat embossed on a dimensional black banner from the Banner trio die set and used doubled up 3D foam squares to adhere it on top of the ice creams.
As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the yellow parts and added glossy accents to the hearts, waffle and the lime slice.
I hope you enjoyed this little summer inspiration today and you will pop in again soon for more fun projects!
