MFT Card Design Superstar Contest – Clean & Simple

Hello Everyone,

I am so happy that I could make a card for the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest this year too, I love challenges like this. It is a yearly contest and even though the categories are the same as last year, I left it to the last moment to decide which card I will enroll – yeah, I made three 🙂

So my choice for the Clean and Simple Genius category is this card:

I started with die cutting heavy weight white cardstock with a Blueprints 22 Die-namics die and using a blending brush and a very light hand I added Salty Ocean Distress ink ever so lightly in a circle frame shape.

When the ink dried I stamped the Joy Wreath stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with a Textured White embossing powder (Lawn Fawn). I also added some Finetec gold paint splatters for more texture.

Then I stamped and coloured the deer and the candy cane from the Reindeer Games stamp set using my Copic markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a dark red banner. I adhered the wreath panel on a kraft cardbase and popped up the images and sentiment with 3D foam squares. I finished the design with glossy accents on the candy cane and Rudolph’s red nose, I emphasized hs eyes with a black glaze pen and scattered a few gold crystals (Studio Katia) on the wreath.

I wish you enjoyed this clean design, a bit different from what I usually make, but it was so fun to step out of my comfort zone! Visit me later for my second card for the contest!

See you,

Zsofi
