Happy Mother’s Day to my mom!

Hello Everyone,

Today is Mother’s Day in Hungary and I am always very sentimental about it. I am very close to my mum and even though I try to show her love and care on a daily basis, we always make something extra with my kids on this day. We got her roses and tulips, the kids sang and my daughter recited a lovely poem. She even made a very pretty card for her, and my son – who just learnt how to write – wrote her a letter. So touchy. As a cardmaker I had to make my own card too.

I started with stamping and colouring the images from the SSS Bouquet for mom set using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

I have made a colour swatch for the colours I used. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

For the background I used the Sizzix Texture Fades Brickwork 3D embossing folder. It is amazing! I used it on Bristol Smooth cardstock because I wanted to do some ink blending after: I used Hickory Smoke and Black Sooth Distress Oxide inks. I also added some black and white splatters ad dried it with my heat tool.

I used the Newton’s Nook Designs Land border dies to cut some grass and the Fence die to cut the fence, and assembled the scene. I used 3D foam squares behind the main image to get more dimension.

The setiment I white heat embossed on black cardstock and die cut it with its coordinating die. I love sets when there is a die for the sentiment, it gives such a unique look!

As a finishing touch I used glossy accents on the flower centres and the body of the butterflies.

I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes and the SSS Ig Challenge Favourite Technique too.

I hope you liked my card and will pop in again soon for more inspiration.

See you,

Zsofi
