Hello Everyone,
I am back again with my last Mother’s Day card this year dedicating this one to ALL supermoms out there. Being a mother is the biggest blessing and the best gift which comes with an emotional extra package (expanding with the years). I am grateful every single day to have my kids and experiencing the unconditional love which I feel for them and they feel for me.
For my card today I used the pretty Peonies stencil from Pretty Pink Posh: on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock I inkblended Kitch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink for the flowers first. I simply turned the stencil around and masked off the leaves with post it tape to make sure I dont accidentaly go over the unnecessary open areas.
When I was happy with the arrangemet of the flowers I created masks for them from Masking Paper and covered each flower. Now it was time to add leaves with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. After removing the masks I added some splatters with my Finetec Mica Pearlescent Watercolours, I chose the dark pink and black this time.
When the panel was dry I cut it down a bit and added a vivid green mat under it. I also die cut a skinny gold frame with my old favourite Frames die set from Simon Says Stamp. I adhered it i place with drops of liquid glue. I usually use Ranger Multi Matte Medium with a precision tip for this.
The sentiment I die cut from pink cardstock with the Pretty Pink Posh Mother’s Day die. I added a white heat embossed “happy” on a tiny piece of black cardstock to it using 3D foam squares.
As a finishing touch I added dots with a black glaze pen to the flower centers, it makes them really pop!
I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Feminine and to the Simon Says Stamp IG Challenge Favourite Technique (stenciling is also a favourite technique of mine).
