Happy Eid!

Hello Everyone,

Ramadan has come to its end and today all muslims in the world started celebrating Eid al Fitr, which is a 3 days long feast with great food, special cookies and most of all – happy family gatherings. Unfortunately we are living far from our muslim relatives, but I wanted to wish all of my muslim family members and friends a blessed Eid. If I could have one wish only, I would ask for world peace. A world where people of different religions and ethnics can live peacefully together, where everyone tries to see the good in the others and not look for the evil. My heart is sad for all muslims who cannot live and enjoy the feast in peace.

Last year I bought the beautiful Decorative Hamsa from Simon Says Stamp and I was looking forward to putting it on a card. So I die cut it from gold sparkle cardstock which I previously backed with Stick It adhesive: as it is an intricate die, I felt it was going to be easier to adhere it this way.

I die cut a vellum circle with the Simon Says Stamp Circle dies and adhered the golden die cut.

For the background I used several Alcohol Inks from Ranger: Bottle, Clover, Limeade, Meadow, Pistachio and Citrus. I usually use Yupo paper but today I tried the Ranger glossy cardstock which was meant to be used with alcohol inks. It worked so well with the Blending solution and the inks. I used an air blower to move the ink. It dried super fast but until it was still tacky, I added some golden foil. I simply rubbed it over the sticky parts, so easy and beautiful!

When it was all dry, I die cut the panel with an A2 Stitched rectangle die from MFT and assembled the card.

I white heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew Eid Greeings stamp set on a thin black cardstock strip and adhered it to the card. As a finishing touch I used a green rhinestone in the middle of the eye.
