The sky is the limit – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle.

I am still enjoying making encouragement cards and the new Flying High stamp set is perfect for any occasion. For today I made a simple card which is easy to create in any colour combos. Let me lead you through the process.

First I created a striped background with masking on a Stitched Rectangle using Heffy Memo Tape. I started in the middle with a 1 inch stripe. I used the latest Distress Oxide ink colour: Prize Ribbon and applied the ink with a blending brush. Then I repeated the masking 3/4 inch above and below. Before removing the masks I added water sprinkles and also used white acrylic paint and black pearlescent watercolour to add splatters. I could not resist adding a bit of Liquid Pixie Dust droplets too, it gives a subtle shimmer like tiny stars in the sky.

Then I stamped and coloured the planes and helicopter from the Flying High stamp set, coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The colours I used: BG7, BG4, BG2, BG1, TB5, TB3, TB2, TB1, GB4, CT4, CT3, CT1.

I also white heat embossed a bunch of clouds on vellum and cut them out. They are always a nice touch to any sky scenes.

I stamped 2 sentiments on the white stripes and assembled the scene. The heat embossed lines gave me enough space to hide tiny drops of liquid glue behind them, so it was easy to attach the clouds. I gave the panel a yellow and a dark grey cardstock mat to make a frame around the scene.

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the windows and glossy accents to emphasize some details. I also added little star sequins to complete the night sky feeling. I cannot wait to replicate this card in other colours too, like aqua and pink.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I share my happy creations! Thank you!

Halloween Inspiration Week – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

This week Newton’s Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Check out what I created today and don’t forget to check the NND Blog each day this week for more fun inspiration!

I have a cute home decor instead of a card this time. The size is 5,25*7,25 inches without the frame.

As always I started with stamping the dogs and candies from the Happy Howl-oween set on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx black ink. Then I clear heat embossed them all and coloured them with Karin Brush markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the background I used some Altenew watercolours on Arches Watercolour paper. Just a light wash of purple and blues. I dried it with my heat tool before adding the clouds with the Cloudy sky stencil and white texture paste.

While the clouds were drying, I did all the die cutting: Fence from woodgrai cardstock, grass with the Land border dies from black cardstock. I also die cut the letters to spell out Happy Halloween using the Essential Alphabet dies. And I found the perfect bats in the Halloween Trio die set, I cut a bunch from black glitter cardstock.

I assembled the scene, popped up the dogs with 3D foam squares and used a silver metallic brush pen on the candies and hat to add some metallic shine.

I wish you enjoyed my Halloween inspiration today and will check out all the Halloween goodies from Newton’s Nook Designs. They are all so cute!

Newton’s Nook Designs STAMPtember Exclusive set

Hello Everyone,

I am thrilled to be part of the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember celebration with an Exclusive stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs. Talk Turkey is a hilarious set which is only available on the Simon Says Stamp website until stocks last, so if you like this set, it is better to hurry! These exclusive sets run out of stock so fast every year!

For my card I stamped and coloured the images with Arteza pencils – I wanted to try something I use rarely. It was so relaxing to colour with pencils, I need to do it more often! I fussy cut the images leaving a little white border like they were die cut. I am usually not a fussy cutter, but it was fun too!

For the background I inkblended some Crackling Campfire, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide inks and added a lot of splatters: diluted ink, black and white acrylic paint too. When it was dry, I cut it down with a rectangle die from the NND Frameworks die set. I die cut another piece of this rectangle and cut it down with the grass die from NND Land Borders and used Walnut Stain and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide inks to add colour. I added splatters on this piece too and assembled my Fall scene.

The sentiment I stamped on a white circle which I die cut with the NND Circle Frames die set and added a bit of shading to the edges with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink. for a layered look I die cut a ticket shaped rectangle from brown cardstock (NND Frameworks die set) and a yellow banner (NND Banner Trio die set). I adhered them on top of each other and added it to the top of the card.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pe ont he eyes, a Sakura sparkle pen on the hat and coller and also use drops of glossy accents on the noses and the beak of the turkey. I really believe that these little accents take a card to the next level.

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration and don’t forget: if you like this stamp set, buy it right now! When it is gone, it is gone for good, it will not be restocked!

Wishing you a lovely day,

Zsofi

You are llamazing! – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle.

With the school year starting and having 2 kids in elementary school, I am in constant need of cute encouragement cards. For today’s card I used a couple of stamps, dies and a fun stencil from the new release. Let me lead you through the process.

First I have stamped the images from the Llamazing llamas stamp set on alcohol friendly cardstock and used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them. The colours I used: LLamas: BG5, BG2, BG1, FS8, FS7, FS4 cactus: LG4, LG3, LG2, LG1. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.

To set the scene I first die cut a Stitched Rounded Metric Rectangle from black and one white cardstock and blended it with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink on the bottom. I used BG markers to add some dot details, I love texture! I layered the black rectangle under it so it looks like shadow an arranged my scene. I popped up the llamas with 3D foam squares for a dimensional look.

For the background I first inkblended Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks with a light hand and then used the new Fiesta Time stencil with the same colours just this time I added more ink. Before removing the stencil I lightly spritzed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz which makes the pattern sparkly. This tone-on-tone look is great on its own, but I went further and added some black and white acrylic paint splatters.

For the sentiment I chose a die cut word: I cut the Awesome from blue cardstock once and adhered it to the top of the scene. I stamped another sentiment under it in black from the Llamazing llamas stamp set.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes and covered the awesome with glossy accents. It gives a shiny dimensional look, so gorgeous!

I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I share my happy creations! Thank you!

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember

Hello Everyone,

I am here today with an inspirational card I created with a new layering stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release. It is called Waves of change and it is so beautiful! The sentiments are gorgeous! I cannot wait to make a home decor with it too! But for now I created a card, let me guide you through the process.

I stamped first the filler waves with Audrey Blue ink from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped it 3 times using my Misti to get a bit darker waves. Then I added the highlight layer using Deep Sea ink. The outline waves were my last layer, I heat embossed it with Mermaid Fine Detail embossing powder. Then I used a little blender brush with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink to give colour to the whole sea. Thanks to the small brush I did not need to mask off the sky.

If you follow me, you know how much I love texture. So I added some diluted ink splatters: Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks and some liquid Pixie Dust from Inkon3. I let the splatters cover the sky too, so it looks like water drops.

The sentiment I stamped in black on the right and added a die cut Friend on the left. The shadow I cut from Audrey blue cardstock, and the Friends I cut 3 times from Peacock cardstock. I layered them together, covered them with clear embossing ink and used the same Mermaid Fine Detail embossing powder to give it some sparkle and shine.

I cut the panel down with a stitched rectangle die and added a Peacock mat to it. I used some crystals from Studio Katia to embellish the card.

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration and if you are curious about the whole STAMPtember release, you can find it here.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope to see you soon.

Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop!  We are so excited to share amazing cards from 9 Design Team members using the new release!  For today’s special Blog Hop, you can win a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store!

To be entered to win the giveaway, all you need to do is comment at each stop along the Blog Hop before Sept 15th, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST.  The winner will be announced on the Heffy Doodle Blog on Sept 16th at 10:00 AM EST! Plus, if you order £30 worth of product, you’ll get a FREE STAMP!  If you spend over £45, you’ll get the coordinating die, too!  Head to the Heffy Doodle store to get your order in!  While supplies last.

My card today features a bunch of new stamps and dies from the new release, let’s just dive in!

First I stamped the cute critters from Bed Heads and Popping by. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them: EB5, EB3, RB2, BG9, BG7, BG5, BG4, BG2, BG1, FS4, FS3, FS7, PP4, GB9, BO4, BO3, BO1. Then I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

I did some ink blending on a 2 inches wide piece of white cardstock with Walnut Stain and Antique Linen Distress Oxide inks. I added a lot of paint splatter and also sprinkled the panel with water for a textured look. When it was dry, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Woodgrain Texture die. I love those stitches! As I wanted it to look like a giant bed, I needed a frame. So I used the 2 biggest Slimline Rectangle Frames, secured them with Heffy Memo tape so they don’t shift and cut it out all at once from an ink blended piece of cardstock. Here I used Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. As I had the inner part of the ink blended panel unused, I die cut the sentiment from it with the new Get Well Soon Shadow Heffy cut die. The shadow I cut from white cardstock.

I chose a Lawn Fawn patterned paper to be my wallpaper, it is from the Let it shine paper pad. I adhered it on the front of an A2 sized card and popped up the bed and the curious critters with 3D foam squares.

I also stamped an additional sentiment from the Get Well Greetings stamp set, it really compliments the card. As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the critters and glossy accents on their noses.

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration, it is time now to hop on! Here is the full list of participants:

Adventure time – Thermoweb

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure of playing with the Laura Kelly Collection from Thermoweb in the last couple of days and I have to say it made me giddy. Her designs are so simple yet heartwarming, it totall reminds me of my childhood and puts a permanent smile on my face. For the whole collection, please visit the Thermoweb shop, it has stamps, toner sheets and beautiful foils. (Fine print: I am not affiliated nor on the Design Team of Thermoweb, but the goodies were sent to me for a collaboration with one of my DTs. The package was late but I love the designs so much that I cannot stop creating with them. So get ready for more!)

Today’s card was made for my kids for a very special occasion, we just got our small puppy on Friday. It is a small Bichon Havanese, a beautiful fluffy furball. He is called Lucky (I guess he truly is as he is already so loved). He is going to live with my parents who live in the same building with us. But back to the card now.

I started with a piece of purple cardstock and used Thermoweb Deco Foil Gel on it through the Heffy Doodle Lots of happy stencil. I used Pixie Spray to hold the stencil in place and applied the gel with a Stencil Pal. It makes it a breeze. I removed the stencil and washed it right away. I set the background aside for a while to dry. When it is clear, you can go ahead and foil it with your laminator. I used the Laura Kelly Berry Purple Foil Transfer sheet, as I wanted a tone on tone look.

Meanwhile I stamped the girl, the boy and the puppy from the Me and my peeps stamp set on a white stitched rectangle. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them quickly, here is the list of colours I used: FS8, FS7, FS4, HB3, HB2, HB1, BT7, BT5, BT1, EB5, EB4, EB3, RB2, RB1. I stamped the You and me sentiment under them in purple (Catherine Pooler ink).

I white heat embossed Adventure time from the Heffy Doodle Wavy Banner Sentiment set on black cardstock ad cut it out with the coordinating dies. I popped it up with 3D foam squares under the stampd greeting and gave the panel a light blue mat.

After assembling the card I used a clear sparkle pen on the balloons and covered them with glossy accents.

I hope you like my inspiration today with the Laura Kelly collection mixed with Heffy Doodle goodies. I will be back soon with more!

See you,

Zsofi

Heffy Doodle New Release Reveals – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

Today is the last day of the new release reveals at Heffy Doodle and I have a quite clean and simple design to showcase today’s goodies. If you are curious to see all the stamps, dies and stencils revealed today, please visit the Heffy Doodle blog.

The new items will be available for pre-orders from 1st Sept, the release goes live on the 8th Sept. And don’t forget that there is a free stamp set with every pre-order!

For my card today I die cut a whole bunch of the new Forest Leaves dies from textured white cardstock and randomly adhered them on a white stitched rectangle. I love clean and simple cards but I struggle with keeping them really simple: I had to add some splatters on the panel. I used the Finetec Pearlescent colours: aqua, silver and black.

While it was drying I die cut the Awesome Shadow Heffy Cuts die from Simply Teal-icious cardstock 3 times and the shadow of the word from Oyster Shell cardstock. I also cut the largest stitched rectangle from the grey and a bit smaller mat from the teal for a layered look.

I white heat embossed a sentiment from Superdudes on a thin black cardstock strip and adhered it above the die cut one.

I wish you enjoyed the last couple of days full of inspiration with the new release. Now it is time to get your shopping lists ready and shop, shop, shop!

See you soon,

Zsofi
