Thanks a latte – Lawn Fawn

Hello Everyone,

Happy International Coffee Day! I am so excited to be part of a fun Blog Hop organised by Amy from the Coffee Loving Cardmakers. There is a bunch of fresh and fun inspiration from wonderful designers, so just grab a cup of coffee and hop along with us! There is a giveaway too, see at the end of my post!

For my project I used some of the new release of Lawn Fawn.

I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Stitchced Snowflake Backdrop die. It is beautiful on its own, but I had to so some ink blending: I used Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks and spritzed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Mist in the end. I also added some water and white acrylic paint splatters for more texture.

Then I die cut the cute Lovely Latte cup from light blue and from patterned paper. I used the Gotta Have Gingham paper pad. For the coffee I used brown textured cardstock and cut the eyes and the smile from back. I love that this die set has a “backing die”, which makes paper piecing so easy.

While I was at die cutting I also cut a few snowflakes from white glitter cardstock using the Stitched Snowflake Frame die set. I wanted to make it more festive so I cut the Christmas Garland die set from green cardstock and the ribbon from pink. I used a little bit of Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink on the leaves to add some depth of colour.

The setiment I white heat embossed on black cardstock from the Thanks a latte stamp set. I adhered the strips a bit at an angle on purpose, it is more playful this way.

As a finihing touch I used glossy accents on the ribbon.
