Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

It is our final day of the Holiday Release Week with Newton’s Nook Designs, I hope you enjoyed this big release so far! Our team is featuring today 3 new sets: Prehistoric Christmas and Christmas Pheasant stamp/die sets and the beautiful Heartfelt Holidays stamp set which coordinates with the previously released Heart Frames and Banner Trio die sets.

All new products will be available on Friday, 15/10/2021.

I stamped and coloured the images from the Prehistoric Christmas set using Spectrum Noir Triblend markers. The colours I used: Blue Turquoise Blend, Ice Blue Blend, Earth Brown Blend, Citrus Green Blend, Dark Red Blend, Alpine Green Blend, Purple Blend, Hydrangea Blend. I used the coodinating dies to cut everything out.

Then I die cut 3 blue and 3 white circles with a die from Circle Frames. I used a Land Border die to cut the sowbanks from the white circles and layered them on the blue ones before adhering the dinos.

I white heat embossed a coordinating sentiment on black stitched banners (Banner Trio die set) for each dino and adhered everything to an A2 sized notecard which I previously covered with patterned paper from the Meowy Christmas paper pad.

As a finishing touch I used clear shimmer and glossy accents, and I emphasized the eyes with a black gel pen.

For my second card I also started with colouring the main image from Christmas Pheasant. This time I used my regular Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: BT9, BT7, BT5, TN8, TN7, BO3, GY2, DR5, DR3, DR1. I cut it out with the coodinating die.

I used the Circle Frames die set to cut a scalloped circle from cream cardstock and a stitched one from teal. On the cream one I splattered gold and black pearlescent watercolours from Finetec, added a vellum circle under it before adhering it to the teal circle.

I gold heat embossed a sentiment on a smaller circle and after arranging the bird and presents, I popped it up too with 3D foam squares.

The background I created with the Plaid stencil: the first layer is made with teal ink, the second layer is gold heat embossed. I cut it down with the postage edge die from Frameworks. As a finishing touch I used a ton of clear shimmer and glossy accents.

For my last card I simply stamped the Heartfelt Holiday image on Bristol Smooth cardstock with green hybrid ( and then with Versamark, so I could heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. This is an easy trick to get a raised and shine outline. Then I used a couple of Karin Brushmarkers to quickly watercolour the leaves and berries.

When it was dry, I cut it out with the scalloped heart die from Heart Frames and matted it with a red stitched heart.

I covered an A2 sized card base with a pretty plaid patterned paper from Meowy Christmas paper pad and adhered the focal panel. I clear heat embossed a sentiment from the set on a green banner (Banner Trio dies) and popped it up with 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I used glossy accents on the berries.
