Happy Halloween – Cat Lovers Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I have a fun Halloween card for you as my inspiration for the Cat Lovers Blog Hop organised by Janis. All details on how to participate you can find here.

Newton’s Nook Designs is also sponsoring this event every year, so here is whate I have created using their stamps, dies and stencils.

I created the background first: I inkblended Wilted Violet, Chipped Zapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks on white cardtock and added some water splatters and white acrylic paint. I made sure it was all dry before I laid the Flying Bats stencil over the panel. I applied Therm O Web GLAZED PEWTER METALLIX Deco Foil Gel which I have coloured with some blank ink before. After removing the stencil I washed my supplies immediately in warm water and set the panel aside to dry.

Meanwhile I stamped and coloured the cute Batty Newton stamp using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are the following: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG4, BG2, BG1, FS7, HB3, HB2, HB1. I used the coordinating dies to cut him out.

I die cut a stitched white circle using the Circle Frames die set and a white banner using the Banner Trio die set. I blended the banner with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and stamped the sentiment on it in black. After assembling the card I popped up the banner with 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I used a generous amount of clear shimmer on the bat wings. I love the sparkle and the textured, pearly background is simply gorgeous!
