Happy birthday Jana!

Hello Everyone,

This is a very special post, dedicated to my sweet daughter who turned 11 years old a few days ago. I am honoured and blessed to be the mother of such a lovely, smart and cute girl, watching her grow each day, being witness of her delicate but strong-willed personality as she spreads her wings. She is my sunshine for sure. As we got her some kids’ jewelry for her big day, I made not only a card but also 2 little boxes which hold her gifts. All products used are from Lawn Fawn. Let me show you each, one by one.

For my card I stamped and coloured a bunch of images from Scootin’ By and Elphie Selfie. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: BO4, BO3, BO2, FS4, FS7, MB4, MB2, MB1, MB05, BG4, BG2, BG05, CG2, CG1, CG05, TB4, TB3, TB1, EB5, EB3. I cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

While I was die cutting I cut all the elements for my scene: grass with the Grassy Hillside Border dies and the sun and frame with the Stitched Sun Frame and Outside In Stitched Sun dies. I used coloured cardstock and did some ink blending on all pieces with Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I also added some diluted ink splatters and used Avery Elle Clear Shimmer Spritz on the frame of the sun for a subtle sparkle.

For the background I chose patterned paper from the Watercolour wishes paper pad, the setiment I stamped on the middle of the sun from the Magic Messages stamp set.

I was totally in a rush to finish this project so I forgot to add my usual finishing touches like glossy accents on the candles, ribbon and balloons, black glaze pen on the noses and eyes. I would have added some clear shimmer to the party hats too.

I had a necklace and ear clips which needed a bit bigger box, so I created on with the Fancy Box die set from Moonstone cardstock. The window I cut with the Outside In Stitched Though Bubble die set – of course on the wrong side so the whole box opens upside down. My daughter still loves it 🙂

The window is backed with clear acetate, and embellished with a sun and heat embossed sentiment from the Oh Gnome stamp set.

To hold the sun earrings and little ring I made a Tiny Gift Box from Moonstone cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Oh Gnome set and embellished the top with a sun, which I cut with the Outside In Stitched Sun die set. I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink to add some shading to it and popped it up with 3D foam squares.

I hope you enjoyed my project and will visit me again soon. I also share my projects on Instagram, if you need a gallery to look at as inspiration. It would make me super happy if you follow me there too.

See you soon,
