Hello baby – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series forĀ Heffy Doodle, this time a new baby card. I used a couple of stamps, dies and stencils to create this cutie, let me guide you through the process.

First I stamped and coloured the images from the Absotoothly Awesome and Mewniverse stamp sets using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are the following: FS4, FS7, FS8, BP6, BP4, BP2, BP1, BP05, BG1, GB7, GB5, GB2, GB1. Then I die cut them all with their coordinating dies.

For the background I took a piece of Oyster Shell cardstock and cut it out with an Imperial Stitched Rectangle die. Then I used the Head in the Clouds stencil with Kitch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink first. I made sure not to add clouds to the bottom part of the panel. Then I shifted the stencil and ink blended it with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink. I made sure the first two layers were dry before adding a third layer of clouds, this time I used white texture paste.

While the clouds were drying, I white heat embossed a sentiment on a thin strip of black cardstock from the Special Day Sentiment duos.

I also cut grass with the Grassy Lass border die set and a pink blanket using a small Stitched Circle die. I assembled the scene using 3D foam squares to pop up the images.

I chose a pink checked patterned paper (Doodlebug Designs) for the background and added a shiny silver mat to the focal panel before adhering it to the card base. As a finishing touch I added Clear Star Sequins as falling blessing from the fairies and used a clear shimmer pen on their wings.

I wish you enjoyed my card today and share with us in our Facebook group if I inspired you. Follow me on Instagram if you like my cards, your support means so much to me! Thank you!

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the last day of the March Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, but no worries, we saved the cutest for last! We are showcasing today the lovely Newton’s Blooms stamp/die set and a beautiful mini in the floral series: Tulips. It also has coordinating die.

All new products will be available on Thursday, 17/03/2022.

NEWTON’S BLOOMS CARD

For my card I stamped and coloured the cute image with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: MG5, MG4, MG2, MG1, BG6, BG4, BG2, BG1, BG05, AG3, AG1, AG05, CT3, CT1, BT1, GY3, GY2, FS7, BO1, BG9, BG8, GB10, GB8, GB6, GB5. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

Then I die cut a white stitched oval with the new Oval Frames die set, and a scalloped one from pink cardstock. For the background I chose a pretty patterned paper from the new Springtime paper pad.

I assembled the little scene on the white oval, using a green marker to colour the grass under the pot too. I stamped the sentiment on the top in black.

As a finishing touch I used white and gold mini pearls for the flower centers and added clear shimmer to the wings of bees and butterflies.

TULIP CARD

As always I started with colouring the beautiful Tulips with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used are: BP7, BP6, BP5, BP3, BP1, TB4, TB2, TB1, LG4, LG3, LG2. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and I also cut a black shadow with the die which I adhered to the back of the coloured image tiny offset, so it really looks like shadow.

I die cut a white stitched oval with the new Oval Frames die set and did a very light ink blending in the middle using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I added some diluted ink splatters gently. I tied pink twine in a bow around the stems of the tulips before adhering it to the oval.

Then I white heat embossed the 2 sentiments on cornflower blue cardstock and cut them out with a banner die from Frames and Flags. I also used the scalloped rectangle from the same die set on a patterned paper from the Springtime paper pad.

I assembled the card using 3D foam squares under the focal panel and the sentiment banners. I used clear flat sequins as embellishments. I used a white pencil to add highlights to the tulips and I also added glossy accents and clear shimmer to the butterfly.

I am proud of you – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Kids’ appreciation is absolutely on my flag, I truly believe that we need to encourage them and praise them daily so that they become self-assured and confident in their every day life. I also believe that whatever it written down, is much stronger and longer lasting than if it is only said. Therefore I make encouragement cards to my kids often. Today I brought you this cute hedgehog card with Heffy Doodle goodies: it looks complicated but it is very simple. Let me guide you through the process.

I started with stamping the hedgehogs from the Quill you be mine stamp set, and a few accessories for building a scene from the Big Bug Hugs and Otter side stamp sets. I coloured everything with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: EB7, EB5, EB3, EB1, RB2, RB1, MB05, CG4, CG2, CG1, DR3, DR1, DR05, BG8, BG6, BG4, BG2, BG1, BG05. Then I die cut them with their coordinating dies.

I also stamped a couple of sentiments from the Watcha Sayin’ Now set on little thought bubbles and cut them out with their dies.

For the background I did a simple one colour (Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide) ink blending on light blue cardstock through the Numicon stencil. After removing the stencil I added diluted ink splatters and used pearl and black Finetec watercolours to add some sparkle too.

While the background was drying I quickly die cut 3 Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frames: 2 white and 1 dark red. I adhered the frames to the stenciled background and popped up the coloured images with 3D foam tape. I also used 3D foam under the thought bubbles, I love the dimension!

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the noses, glossy accents on the mushrooms and a white pencil to add highlight to the quills.

I wish you enjoyed my card today and share with us in our Facebook group if I inspired you. Follow me on Instagram if you like my cards, your support means so much to me! Thank you!

Toucan – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

Happy International Women’s Day to all ladies! To celebrate ourselves I have a cute card which I created for Newton’s Nook Designs. Let me show you and guide you through the cardmaking process.

First I stamped and coloured the cute toucan from the Toucan Party stamp set. This set is retiring, so if you like it, grab it while supplies last! I coloured him with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: BG10, BG8, BG6, BG5, BG2, DR4, DR2, BO3, BO1, CT4, CT2, TB3. Then I cut him out with the coordinating die.

For the background I did some ink blending on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink, then used the Tropical Leaves stencil with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. After removing the stencil I added a lot of splatters: water droplets, diluted green ink and also some black paint. I love how it turned out!

Next I die cut a bunch of leaves with the Hibiscus die set from 2 shades of green cardstock. I also die cut a kraft circle with the Circle Frames die set, adhered the leaves around it and popped up the bird with 3D foam squares.

I white heat embossed a sentiment on black cardstock and cut it to a small banner with the A7 Frames and Banners set. I added that under the bird an popped up the whole focal panel with 3D foam squares. I used the little flowers as embellishment.

I hope you liked my card and will pop in again soon,

See you,

Zsofi

Card for Ukraine

Hello Everyone,

The terror going on in our neighbouring country, Ukraine keeps my mind occupied since the war started. We all know people who have relatives there, kids talk about a potential escalation of war among themselves at school and they are collecting goods which will be taken to the refugees. Hungary accepted so many families already and the kindness of people really warms my heart . In our crafty community there are card drives going on too, to collect money for charity. I had to ease my soul with crafting it out too, so here is my card to show solidarity.

I started with quickly ink blending a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks. I added a lot of water droplets and diluted ink splatters for a textured look. When it was dry I die cut it with a Wonky Rectangle from Simon Says Stamp.

While I was die cutting I also cut a bunch of flowers from SSS Lemon Chiffon cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Spring Flowers Backdrop die set. I also cut the SSS Thinking of you sentiment die from blue glittery cardstock.

I used a small blending brush and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink to add a little shading towards the center of each flower and adhered them to my blue background.

I also added the sentiment and embellished each flower with a matte enamel dot from Doodlebug. It adds so much to the design, super pretty!

I hope you liked my card inspiration today and will keep checking back for more!

See you soon,

Floral Layers – Lawn Fawn New Release #3

Hello Everyone,

I was playing a bit with the new Spring Blossoms Background stencils from the new release of Lawn Fawn. I love layering stencils and this one is particularly gorgeous. I could have used simply inks for all the layers but I will show you some tricks how to level-up your stenciling. Are you ready?

TEAL CARD

I used Pine Needles Distress Oxide ink for the first layer, then Salvaged Patina for the flowers.

For the thirs layer I mixed Lawn Fawn Fairy Dust stencil paste with a few drops of Peacock Feathers Distress reinker. I mixed it well on my glass mat with a palette knife and spread it through the stencil.

After I removed the stencil I quickly washed it with warm water and a nail scrub. I had no residues on my stencil.

PINK CARD

For this one I used Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink for the leaves layer, and Kitch Flamingo for the floral layer.

For the flower centers I used Lawn Fawn Pearl stencil paste mixed with Picked Raspberry distress reinker drops. It looks gorgeous!

YELLOW CARD

Here I went with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink for the leaves and Mustard Seed for the flowers.

The accents I emphasized with Lawn Fawn Gold stencil paste, which is fantastic on the yellow flowers!

I let all the backgrounds dry and then die cut it with 2 of the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. I matted the smaller rectangles with coloured cardstock and adhered on the bigger frame.

For the sentiment I used the Henry’s ABC which I cut from different cardstocks: I used blue glitter cardstock for the teal one, a pink metallic for the pink card and Lawn Fawn Green Canvas Textured Cardstock for the Hungarian sentiment (which means Happy). I layered each letter because I love dimension but you can totally skip this.

I felt that the glitter cardstock was losing the glitters a bit so I decided to cover each letter with Lawn Fawn Clear Glaze. It sealed the glitter an gave it a shiny look. So cool! On some of the cards I used a black shadow to make the sentiment pop.

The rest of the sentiment I heat embossed on coloured cardstock from the Lawn Fawn Simply sentiments stamp set, except for the Hungarian one where I stamp the word “birthday” (stamp from Pippi) in green.

I finished the cards with some Clear Glaze drops on the green dots, it adds dimension and shine.

I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday (Use a stencil) and Wednesday (Add a die cut) Challenges.

I wish you like my cards for today and will join me again soon for more fun projects!

See you,

Zsofi
