Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop!  We are so excited to share amazing cards from 8 Design Team members using the new release!  For today’s special Blog Hop, you can win a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store!

For my card I used a couple of stamps and dies from the new release and also some oldie but goodie products. Let me guide you through the process. First I stamped the images from the Udderly Fabulous stamp set and coloured them with my Spectrum NOir Illustrator markers. The full list of colours i used: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG3, BG1, GB4, CT2, FS7, FS6, MG3, MG1. Then I cut them out with their coordinating dies.

On a piece of white cardstock I used the Stoney Maloney stencil with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink, then die cut the word Thanks from the new Slimline Scalloped Peekaboo die set. I also cut another 3 layers from white cardstock and one from black. I layered them on top of each other, making sure to adhere the black layer a bit offset so it looks like shadow. Then I used a black glaze pen and went over the stenciled pattern. It looks so cool and shiny!

While I was die cutting I also cut the frame 3 times from white cardstock, layered them on top of each other and cut the shadow of the Thanks die from vellum. I cut grass with the Slimline Scenery die set from Greenbean cardstock.

I chose a Lawn Fawn patterned paper for the background, it measures 3,5*8,5 inches. I assembled the scene and popped up the cows with 3D foam squares. I also heat embossed a sentiment from the Udderly Fabulous stamp set on a thin strip of black cardstock and added it under the die cut sentiment. As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the hooves and glossy accents on the horns, bell, and the little flower.

Heffy Doodle – New Release Day 4

Hello Everyone,

If you are looking for the Newton’s Nook Designs April Release Day 3 post, click here.

I am thrilled to share with you another card I created with the new release of Heffy Doodle! Pre-orders open today and the new release will go live a week later on the 27/04! For all details please visit the Heffy blog.

For my card today I used the super cute freebie, Mane Squeeze. I stamped and coloured the lion and the crown and also a balloon from Party Palooza with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The list of colours I used: GB6, GB4, GB3, GB2, GB1, EB8, EB6, EB5, FS7, CT3, CT2. I cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

I die cut a Whimsically Wonky Imperial Rectangle from white cardstock and added a bit of inkblending to the middle with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink. I stamped a sentiment from the Wild at heart sentiments stamp set on the bottom in black and another one in purple. I popped up the lion and balloon with 3D foam tape and drew the string of the balloon with a black fineliner.

I gave a gold mat to the focal panel and adhered it to a pretty patterned paper from the Man Cave paper pad. I purposely adhered it at an angle, to make it more playful. As a finishing touch I added some clear star sequins, covered the balloon and crown with clear shimmer and made the nose shiny with glossy accents.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and you have your shopping list ready! Let me know which is your favourite from the new release, I am so curious to see what you order!

See you soon,

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the April Release week at Newton’s Nook Designs but worry not, we have something fun for today too: Dad’s BBQ is a very versatile stamp set which comes with coordinating dies. So get ready for the grilling season with those masculine cards!

All new products will be available on 22/04/2022.

For my card I first created a background by stamping all the little stamps in grey on a piece of white cardstock. It looks like patterned paper and you can use any colourful ink for this design.

Then I stamped the rest of the images on alcohol ink friendly cardstock and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The exact colours I used are: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG1, BO4, BO2 CT3, TN8, TN7, TN5, CR7, CR5, CR2, GB10, GB8, GB5. Then I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

I die cut a stitched oval from blue cardstock using the Oval Frames dies and distressed the edges with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink. I stamped a sentiment on the bottom of the oval and adhered the barbecue above it.

I white heat embossed another sentiment on a thin black banner (A7 Frames and Banners die set) and popped it up above the barbecue. I added the whole front panel to a teal mat and embellished the card with orange twine. As a finishing touch I added white gel pen dots and used a clear shimmer pen on the flames.

Heffy Doodle – New Release Day 3

Hello Everyone,

If you are looking for the Newton’s Nook Designs April Release Day 2 post, click here.

I am thrilled to share with you another card I created with the new release of Heffy Doodle! Pre-orders open on 20/04 and the new release will go live a week later on the 27/04! For all details please visit the Heffy blog.

I started with a smooth ink blended background: on Bristol Smooth cardstock I blended Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide inks. I made sure that the blending is smooth and the colours are light.

Then I used the new Flower Power stencil with a bit darker shades: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmelade and Picked Raspberry. I turned the stencil 90 degrees and added a second layer of flowers with the same inks, but before removing the stencil I added White Glitz Glitter gel from Thermoweb on top.

While the background was drying I die cut the new Jumbo It’s Your Day sentiment from white cardstock 4 times and layered them on top of each other. I cut the shadow from vellum and assembled the sentiment.

I also die cut a bunch of leaves using the new Leafy Laurel Circle dies from yellow, orange and pink Heffy Doodle cardstock scraps. I embellished the sentiment with these leaves when I mounted it on the background.

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the sentiment for a subtle sparkle.

I wish you liked my card and will pop in again tomorrow for more sneak peeks!

See you,

Zsofi

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the second day of the April Release week at Newton’s Nook Designs! Today our team is showcasing the Destination Love and Lilac stamp sets which come with coordinating dies.

All new products will be available on 22/04/2022.

CARD 1

I started with stamping the images from the Destination Love stamp set and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The exact colours I used: TB4, TB3, TB2, BG7, BG6, BG5, BG2, DR4, DR1, CR6. Then I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

On a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock I did a super fast ink blending: I used only Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and I blended it from the sides to the middle gradually. I made sure to have more ink on the edges and used a very light hand towards the middle. I added a lot of splatter: water drops, diluted blue ink splatters and also Finetec Silver metallic paint drops. I love how it sparkles in the light!

Then I die cut a stitched white oval and a bigger scalloped one from vellum using the Oval Frames die set. I heat embossed a sentiment with black sparkle embossing powder directly on the vellum oval and assembled the Just married car on that. I used the back of the images to hide the adhesive when I adhered the white oval on the back of the panel.

As a finishing touch I used tiny pearls to embellish the flowers, a clear shimmer pen on the car and glossy accents to emphasize some details.

CARD 2

I stamped the Lilac three times on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx black ink and clear embossed the images. Then I used my Karin Brush markers to paint them quickly. I love to paint with these markers, the colours are so vibrant and it is so easy to use! I used the coordinating die to cut the flowers out.

I die cut a postage edge rectangle with the Frameworks die set from kraft cardstock . I also die cut a small ticket with the same die set from white cardstock to carry my sentiment, which I stamped in purple.

I created a bouquet from the lilacs and added pink twine to the stems before popping them up with 3D foam squares.

After adding the sentiment, I embellished the card with tiny clear sequins.

Heffy Doodle – New Release Day 2

Hello Everyone,

If you are looking for the Newton’s Nook Designs April Release Day 1 post, click here.

I am back today with some more exciting news: Heffy Doodle is also having a new release soon! Pre-orders open on 20/04 and the new release will go live a week later on the 27/04! For all details please visit the Heffy blog.

For my card today I used the fabulous Go Wild Frame dies, cut it from two shades of green cardstock and layered them on top of each other tiny offset. I also added a bit of shading with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink and a blending brush.

I stamped and coloured the images from the Two by Two Safari animals set using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The full list of colours: BG8, BG7, BG6, BG5, BG4, BG2, BG1, FS7, FS4, CT3, CT1, OR3, OR2, OR1. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.

On a white A2 sized card base I did some light ink blending with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and added some water droplets and diluted blue ink splatters. When it was dry I adhered the frame and placed the rhinos and toucans on my scene.

I stamped a sentiment on the sky and white heat embossed another one on a thin black cardstock strip from the Wild at heart sentiment set which coordinate perfectly the wild animals in this release.

As a finishing touch I used glossy accents on the beaks, horns and also on the little heart I used as embellishment.

I hope you liked my card and will pop in again tomorrow for more!

See you,

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to announce the start of the April Release week at Newton’s Nook Designs! This release is jam packed with fun new designs for many occasions. Let’s get started and have a look at today’s news: Cycling Friends is a cute stamp set which come with coordinating dies. The Tree Line stencil is a fantastic layering stencil but for the price of one!

All new products will be available on 22/04/2022.

For my card today I started with the background: on a white piece of cardstock I used the Tree Line stencil to create a row of pretty trees. First I added the canopy using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. Then with the help of the etching on the stencil I lined up the second layer and added the tree trunk with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink. The last layer was the leaves, I used Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink for a contrast. It was so easy and quick!

Then with a small blending brush I added Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide for the sky, Hickory Smoke for the road and Twisted Citron for the grass, among the trees. I did not use any masking, just went around the trees with a small brush, but I left some white space in between the colours and around the trees. It looks so cool and much faster this way! When it was done I die cut the background with the postage edge die from Frameworks.

I stamped the images from the Cycling friends stamp set and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The exact colours I used: bike: BG7, BG6, BG5, BG4, BT9, BT6, BT5, BT3, MB4, MB2, MB1, dog: EB7, EB5, EB3, RB2, AG3, CG3, CG1, cat: RB3, RB2, MB1, AG3, CG3, CG1, flowers and balloons: AG3, CG3, CG1, GY3, CT3, CT1, MG3, MG1, LV3, LV2, LV1, BT5, BT3. I die cut everything with the coordinating dies.

I assembled the scene, popped up the images with thin 3D foam squares. I stamped the sentiment in black directly on the sky and adhered the scene on a kraft card base.

As a finishing touch I used a black fine liner and a white gel pen to add details to the scarves and flowers. I used a clear shimmer pen on the balloons and the bike and emphasized the eyes with a black glaze pen. I also added glossy accents to some parts of the bike to make them shiny.

Happy Easter – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

After a little break I am back with a cute monochrome Easter card for Newton’s Nook Designs.

This time I started with the background: on kraft cardstock I used the Bunny Tails layering stencil. For the first layer I chose Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink and for the tails I applied White Textured Paste. I set it aside to dry.

Meanwhile I stamped and coloured a cute bunny from the Bitty Bunnies stamp set. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: MB4, MB3, MB2, MB1, MB05, FS7, BG1. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die.

While I was die cutting I also cut the sentiment from the Spring Pile Up die set from kraft cardstock and shaded it with a bit of Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink. I also cut a white scalloped oval and a bit bigger stitched oval from vellum using the Oval Frames die set.

After assembling the card, I embellished it with a bit of natural twine. It is such an easy design that I could easily imagine it in other colours too. Perfectly simple enough for mass production too.

I wish you like my card inspiration today and you will come back for more soon.

See you,

Zsofi
