Rainbow kitties – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello everyone,

Did it ever happen to you that you got hooked on a technique and you could not stop creating with it? For me it is foiling these days. Since I got my Heidi Swapp Mini Minc Machine I wanna foil everything and everything. And because rainbow is my favourite colour, I brought you this cute kitty card today, made with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps and dies and Thermoweb toner sheets and foil. Let me show you.

First I stamped and coloured the kitties from the Birthday Trio stamp set using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The colours I used: CT4, CT2, CT1, FS7, BG10, BG8, BG6, BG4, BG2, BG1, BG05, GT3, GT1, TB4, TB2, HB3, HB1, BP5, BP2, BP1. Then I cut them out with their coordinating dies.

Then I created the background from a fun Laura Kelly toner sheet and Mystic Rainbow Deco Foil from Thermoweb. It is so beautiful on its own, but I had to go further. I did some gentle ink blending with Distress Oxide inks in rainbow order. I added a few water droplets to distress the background. Then I die cut it with the Frames and Flags die set.

I also cut a rounded rectangle with the same die set from vellum to hold my kitties – it mutes the background a little.

As a finishing touch I added a bit of clear shimmer to the hat and ribbon, then covered them with glossy highlight from Spectrum Noir to make them shiny. I also used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the birdie and the cat noses.

I wish you enjoyed my card inspiration today and will check back soon.

See you,

Zsofi
