Happy Eid!

Hello Everyone,

Today is the first day of the biggest Islamic holiday, Eid el Adha, the feast of sacrifice remembering Prophet Ibrahim. For this occasion I pulled out some DS Stamps stencils and stamps to create a cute card. This is my way of wishing Happy Feast to all my Muslim friends and family.

I started with an A2 sized white stitched panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock, laid the Eid stencil over it and applied Scattered Straw, Saltwater Taffy ad Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks. The stencil is a bit narrower than the front of a A2 card, so I simply “re-started the pattern” from the bottom of the panel knowing that it doesn’t need to match perfectly as I will cover that part with a sentiment strip.

I heat embossed a sentiment in white on a thin strip of black cardstock and adhered it in place. Noone would ever say that under the strip the stenciling doesn’t match!

Then I stamped the boy and girl from the Little Dua Makers set, also 2 sheep from the Hajj and Eid set and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: FS7, FS6, FS4, GB5, CT4, CT2, CT1, BG4, BG2, BG1, PP4, PP2, PP1. I fussy cut the images and popped them up above the sentiment using 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the veil of the girl, glossy accents to their shoes and google eyes to the sheep. It makes the card so playful! I could not resist some extra shine so I added a bit of liquid glue o certain parts of the stenciled design and poured chunky sparkle glitter on it. Let it dry and wiped off the excess. I love how it turned out, so festive!

I wish you liked my card and will pop in again, I will have a lovely summer card for you later today!

See you,
