Summer is better with you – Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Everyone,

I am back with my second card as Guest Designer for Pretty Pink Posh. This one shouts summer too and I made it for my lovely husband who just returned from work (he works abroad) to enjoy a few weeks off with us. I wanted to make our reunion unique, and knowing that he loves cheerful and dimensional cards, I chose the PPP Beach Scene die as the background of my little scene.

I die cut it several times from white and colourful cardstocks and also cut a tiny bigger circle from aqua cardstock to hold my scene. I used a light blue layer as my base, it helped me to place all the colourful elements and also ensured the instant dimension. Some parts of the design I doubled up (sand, sea and treetrunk) and some others I even tripled (sun, palm and surfboard). After I had all elements in place, I leveled the frame too, so it has equal height as the sun. I used a clear shimmer pen and white gel pen to add highlights and also used a couple of brown markers to add dots to the sand.

It all looked so cool on its own, but I could not resist adding a sweet critter to it. I chose the small koala from the PPP Koala Friends stamp set, coloured it with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: EB4, MB4, MB2, MB1, MB05, FS4, FS7. I used the coordinating dies to cut him out and popped him up with 3D foam squares. I used a black gel pen on his eyes and nose to make them shiny and also added glossy accents to the surfboard. I love how it looks!

For the background of my focal scene I chose a delightful paper from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine Remix paper pad, matted it with the same aqua cardstock and adhered it all to an A2 sized white top folding card base.

I die cut the PPP Happy Summer script from aqua cardstock 3 times, adhered them on top of each other and used my Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen to make it sparkly. Then I dipped it in clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I repeated the dipping and powdering parts 3 times to achieve a really smooth and very shiny, thick sentiment. I adhered it in place with liquid glue and stamped the rest of the sentiment under it from the PPP Thoughtful greetings stamp set. I finished off the card with some Lawn Fawn twine.

I wish you enjoyed this cheerful project and will check back later. Next week will be very busy here, with lots of inspiration!

See you soon,
