Christmas scene – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I made Christmas scene and I missed scene building designs. So here is one where I have combined new and old stamps and dies from Newton’s Nook Designs.

First I stamped and coloured the images from Holiday Haul and Christmas Haul using Spectrum Noir markers and cut everything out with their coordinating dies. The markers I used are: DR6, DR4, DR3, DR2, DR1, CR4, CR3, CR1, GB5, GB4, GB3, GB2, BT8, BT5, BT4, BT3, BT1, BG10, BG8, BG6, BG2, BG1, BG05, AG5, AG4, AG3, AG2, AG1, AG05.

Then I stamped a couple of trees with the Whispering Pine stamp set with green ink and cut them out with their coordinating dies too.

While I was die cutting I also cut a Fence from kraft cardstock and a snowhill from glitter white cardstock using the Land border dies.

For the background I did some simple ink blending with Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks before applying a white Fluffy paste through the Starfield stencil. I love how it puffs up after heating it with a heat tool!

I assembled the scene using 3D foam squares for dimension and added a white heat embossed sentiment from Christmas nap.

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the presents and glossy accents to emphasize some details.

I wish you like this cozy holiday scene and I inspired you.

See you soon!

Rainbow sweetness – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. I love the Jumbo sentiment dies and I am obsessed with rainbow so I created a fun card which fits both of my obsessions. It is so cheery, would make anyone smile on a dull day, don’t you think?

I started with the background this time: on a kraft cardbase I used the Sprinkled with fun stencil with Distress Oxide inks. For the first layer I applied Mustard Seed, then rotated the stencil and added Picked Raspberry, rotated again and finished it with Peacock Feathers. I cleaned the stencil in-between to avoid the colours mixing.

Then I die cut the You are so sweet Jumbo Sentiment from white cardstock and did some ink blending on it with the same colours. I love that with only 3 colours you get a full rainbow. I cut the shadow from black cardstock and adhered it to the card base.

I wanted some colourful macarons as embellishment so I stamped the one in Sweet stuff 5 times and used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them: GB4, CT3, CT2, CT1, OR3, OR2, OR1, OR05, MG4, MG3, MG2, MG1, GT3, JG5, AB3, AB2, AB1, AG4, AG3, AG2, AG1. I cut them out with the coordinating die and popped them up in front of the sentiment using 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I used Nuvo Crystal drops on the top of the letters and also on the cookies. It is really sparkly like a sugar coat!

I wish you got inspired by this sweet rainbow creation. Don’t forget to show us what you create in our Facebook group, we love to see your cards!

See you soon,

For my card I started with green heat embossing the pretty Pine Wreath stamp set and cut it out with the coordinating die.

Then I stamped Santa from Holiday Signs an coloured him with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: DR5, DR3, DR1, AG5, AG3, AG1, EB8, EB5, EB3, RB2, RB1, RB05, FS8, FS7, FS4, BG2, BG1, BG05. Then I cut it out with its coordinating die.

While I was die cutting I also cut the Christmas Greetings die set from red glitter cardstock and adhered it to a kraft piece of cardstock which I matted with red.

I popped up the wreath and Santa with 3D foam squares and embellished the wreath with Peppermints Clay Confetti Mix.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on Santa’s eyes and used a Versamarker pen on the fluffy part of Santa’s costume and heat embossed it with White Puff embossing powder from WOW. It gives amazing texture!

Pretty Pink Posh October Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am thrilled to be part of the October Release Blog Hop of Pretty Pink Posh!

If you are looking for the Heffy Doodle and WOW Embossing powders Blog Hop, click here!

This is such an incredibly rich release that it was hard to choose which products to feature today. I have decided to showcase the Winter mug and Christmas Greetings Script die sets along with the Layered Snowflakes stencil set.

First I created the background: on a piece of aqua cardstock I used the Layered Snowflakes stencils. Because I wanted to use different mediums on each layer, I slightly modified the stencil order. I used Layer B first, with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Salvaged Patina Distress Glaze for a tone on tone look. Then I used Layer C with white texture paste as it dries relatively fast. I waited like half an hour and applied Gina K Designs White Glitz Glitter Gel through Layer A as these are the biggest snowflakes and it takes a bit longer for the gel to dry.

Then I die cut the Winter Mug from SSS Blue Violet cardstock, and added a bit of shading to it with white pigment ink. It gives a frosted look somehow, I love it! I adhered a glittery white die cut snowflake in the middle and created a candy cane from white and red glitter cardstock. I also die cut the marshmallows from white glitter cardstock. I love how rich the Winter Mug die set is, it makes it super versatile!

While I was at die cutting, I also cut the Christmas Greetings Script from red glitter cardstock. I stamped part of the sentiment on a thin strip of white cardstock from the Pine Wreath stamp set and assembled the card.

I could not resist, but had to try a new-to-me product, the Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff in Sweet Caramel colour. It has a liquid texture and when you heat it with your heat tool, it is going to puff. I added some to the mug and also to the marshmallows, it is absolutely yummy!

As a finishing touch I added a few white clay snowflakes from the Winter Snowflakes Clay Confetti mix and cut some of the sprinkles to smaller pieces so that I can adhere them to the foam. Looks fun, doesn’t it?

Heffy Doodle and WOW! Embossing Powders Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and WOW! Embossing Powders Collaboration Blog Hop!
Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies!

CARD 1

For my first card I stamped an coloured the cute bats from HD Let’s Hang Out stamp set using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: BGR5, BGR3, BGR2, BGR1, FS7, FS6. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then I die cut a piece of heavy weight white cardstock with the biggest HD Imperial Stitched Rectangle die and used the HD Masquerade circle stencil to add Versamark ink. I used the ink pad directly on the paper, I could apply more ink this way. I heat embossed it with WOW Tarnished Teal embossing powder to get a perfect night sky. Looks gorgeous with all the colourful pieces!

Then I die cut a few HD Big Stitched Clouds from grey cardstock and dipped them in the Versamark ink pad to have them fully covered with the sticky ink. I heat embossed these with WOW Black Puff embossing powder. It has fantastic texture!

For the sentiment I used the HD Happy Halloween Shadow cut, I cut it from white cardstock 3 times and adhered them on top of each other. Then I dipped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW Fluorescent Green embossing powder. I added a black shadow to it and assembled the card. I popped up the bats and 2 of the clouds with 3D foam squares for a dimensional look.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the bats’ eyes, glossy accents on their noses and embellished the card with a few enamel dots from the HD Fright Night collection.

CARD 2

I started with ink blending a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Wilted Violet and Black Sooth Distress Oxide inks. I added a lot of splatters to the background: water and Finetec Pearlescent watercolour in white and purple.

When it was dry, I used the HD Messy Desk Stencil with Versamark ink directly on the paper and heat embossed it with WOW Fluorescent Green embossing powder.

Then I die cut the HD Trick or treat Jumbo seniment die 3 times from white cardstock and layered them on top of each other. I dipped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW Obsidian embossing powder. It has different particles which look like marble when it is heated. The surface is so smooth and shiny like real marble, it is lovely to touch! I used another black die cut to cast shadow to the sentiment and make it pop off the card.

Playing with die cuts – Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Everyone,

Last weekend I have visited a pumpkin farm in Slovakia with the kids, it was so much fun even though I had to drive more than 5hrs for the excursion. They had so many different types of pumpkins, even white and black which I haven’t seen before! I love this time of the year, Fall colours always fascinate me. This inspired my card for today which I have created with the Fall Basket die from Pretty Pink Posh.

It is such a rich die set, I chose only the greenery and pumpkins to go in the basket this time. I cut them from coloured cardstock and added a little shading wit Distress Oxide inks. It is definitely faster this way for me.

When I had my pieces all cut and coloured, I die cut a Scalloped Frame from brown cardstock and also some grass from green cardstock. I adhered the grass to the back of the frame and backed it with a piece of vellum.

For the background I chose a patterned paper from the Doodlebug Pumpkin Spice collection. I love that the vellum mutes the pattern a little but not too much, it makes it warmer somehow.

Then came the best part: assembling the basket. It is like playing Lego for me, I enjoy the process so much! When all the little pieces were in the right place I stamped a sentiment from the Hummingbird Thanks mini set directly on the vellum using Staz On Black ink.

As a finishing touch I used a white gel pen to add highlights.

I wish you liked my card and will pop in again for more ideas next week!

See you,

Zsofi

Sending you sunshine – Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Everyone,

In Hungary we have such a beautiful Autumn weather with lots of sunshine. I thought I would wrap some in a form of a card and send it to you, to cheer you up. I used some cute stamps from the latest release of Pretty Pink Posh, mixing them with some of their older dies.

First I stamped and coloured the cute mouse couple from Mouse Friends and also the sunflowers from Potted Sunflowers. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: BG5, BG3, BG1, BG05, FS7, FS6, FS4, EB5, EB3, EB1, CG3, CG2, CG05, GB4, CT3, CT2, CT1. I cut them out with their coordinating dies.

I also die cut a Stitched Hexagon from Lime cardstock and a Scalloped Hexagon from yellow, and used 3D foam squares to layer them on top of each other tiny offset. I placed the sunflowers and mice in the middle using dimensional tape.

As I wanted to keep this card simple, I simply stamped a sentiment on the bottom with green ink, the with Versamark so I could clear heat emboss it.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes and sunflowers and also glossy accents on the middle of the sunflowers.

I hope you enjoyed this cheery card and I made you smile. Enjoy your weekend and see you soon,

Zsofi

Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

It is always bittersweet when we reach the last day of the release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, but we have still a very versatile and elegant set to showcase today. Snowflake oval is perfect for your winter cards beyond the holidays. It coordinates with the previously release Oval frames die set and can be combined with many critter sets too.

All new products will be available on 14/10/2022.

For my card I firs heat embossed the Snowflake Oval stamp with silver embossing powder on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I used the scalloped oval from Oval frames to cut it out. I used a blending brush and did some simple ink blending over the embossed image with Distress Oxide inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. I added some water droplets and also some silver pearlescent paint from Finetec.

It looks gorgeous on it’s own, but I wanted to make it cute so I stamped the tall snowman with the puppy from Holiday Heights with a light grey ink and did some no-line colouring with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

The colours I used are: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG2, BG1, BG05, TB5, TB3, TB1, OR3, OR05, JG3, JG1, JG05, CT4, CT2, CT1, EB5, EB4, RB2, RB1. I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

I used the Snowfall stencil with white texture paste on a white card base to create a tone on tone wintery background for my focal panel.

While it was drying, I die cut a stitched circle from mint cardstock with a die from Frames Squared and stamped a sentiment on it in black.

When the cardbase was dry, I popped up the focal panel with 3D foam squares, mounted the coloured image with dimensional tape too, adhered the sentiment and finished it off with a teal-purple twine from Lawn Fawn.

Here for the booooks – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. I will not reveal a big secret if I tell you, that the Ghoulfriends stamp set is my favourite from the latest release. I wanted to use them a little differently this time so I created a cute card for book lovers. Let me show you how I made it.

I started with stamping and colouring the cute ghots and books usig Copic markers. The colours I used:

  • ghost: BV01, BV00, BV000, BG13, BG11
  • books: G24, G21, G20, Y15, Y11, BG13, BG11, BV01, BV000, E41

I cut them all out with the coordinating dies. Then I was working on the library background: on a piece of heavy weight white cardstock I applied white texture paste (which I have mixed with a bit of Black Soot Distress oxide ink) over the Brick by Brick stencil. When it was all dry, I did a little ink blending on the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink.

Then I cut the Cathedral Window die 3 times from white cardstock, layered them on top of each other and backed it with Cornflower cardstock.

I heat embossed a sentiment on a thin strip of black cardstock with white embossing powder and another one I stamped on a grey oval which I cut with the Pebble Sentiments die.

After assembling the scene, I embellished it with a few sequins from the Hocus Pocus Sparkle Mix and added glossy accents to the glasses of the cute ghost.

I wish you got inspired to look at your stamps differently. Don’t forget to show us what you create in our Facebook group, we love to see your cards!

See you soon,

Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 3

Hello Evereyone,

We are halfway through the Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release reveals, but as you may have guessed, today is all about kitties. The 2 sets featured today are Newton’s Gift and Christmas Nap and they both come with coordinating dies.

Look at the coordinating die for Christmas nap: it even has an extra sentiment die!

All new products will be available on 14/10/2022.

CARD

For my first card I started with colouring the napping pets from Christmas Nap using Copic markers. The exact colours I used are the following: E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, YG67, YG17, YG25, YG03, R89, R39, R37, R35, Y17, Y08. I cut it out with its coordinating die.

Then I chose a pretty patterned paper from the Canine Christmas pad and cut it with the postage stamp die from Framework. I also cut a small piece from woodgrain cardstock to serve as floor and added a thin red strip before adhering it to the “wallpaper”.

I used the Frames and Flags die set to cut a brown banner and white heat embossed the sentiment on it.

I also cut a very small oval from gold cardstock with one of the small dies from Oval Frames – it serves as a small carpet under the tree.

After popping up the image and sentiment with foam squares, I gave the whole panel a light green mat before adhering to a white card base. As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen and glossy accents.

TAGS

When I first saw the Newton’s Nap stamp set, I thought how nicely it could work as gift tags!

So stamped and coloured a bunch using Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating die. The colours I used are: G28, G09, G07, R46, R29, R27, R24, E42, E41, E40, YG25, YG03, YG01, YG00, W9, W7, W5, W4, W2, W1, W00, E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, C7, C3, C0, E01.

To make them sturdier, I cut the coordinating die once more from white cardstock and adhered to the back of the coloured tags.

I stamped the sentiments on each with black ink and used a hole punch to make space for the twine.

As a finishing touch I used clear shimmer on the ribbons and glossy accents on the berries and noses.
