I wanted to post this card yesterday as it was the first day of our Holy Month, Ramadan. We started our 30 days fasting which is always tough for me in the first few days as I am not a born Muslim and learnt fasting in my thirties only. I was struggling with a severe migraine and could not blog. But all is good now so I am pleased to share with you my Happy Ramadan card for this year:
I started with white heat embossing the Hero Arts Floral Tile Bold Prints on Bristol Smooth cardstock and applied Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks with a blending brush. Then I spritzed the whole panel with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz for a subtle sparkle.
Then I die cut the Hero Arts City Skyline die from black cardstock and distressed it a bit with white pigment ink. It helps the two layers to pop out more. I adhered the top layer with liquid glue and popped up the front one with 3D foam tape for dimension. I cut the panel down to be slightly smaller than an A2 card front.
On a thin strip of vellum I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Ramadan Greetings using Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I wrapped it around the background panel and secured the strip on the back. In this way the adhesive doesn’t show through.
I adhered the background to a white A2 note card and my card is finished.
I want to wish Happy Ramadan to all my muslim friends and my sweet family, may our fasting get accepted and our prayers heard. Let the world unite in peace and love.
See you soon with more card inspiration,
