Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop! I love both companies, they have amazing designs and so easy to combine them! I have 2 cards for you today in different styles: one elegant and one cute. Let me guide you through the cardmaking process.

CARD 1

For my first card I die cut a Heffy Doodle Stitched Rectangle from Copic friendly cardstock and stamped the Honey Bee Stamps Pretty Postage image on it. I used my Copics to colour it, kept the colours simple: reds and aqua. I added some dots when I was done with the colouring to add some texture to the leaves and flowers. I also used a black glaze pen to go over all the little black dots and a white gel pen for even more texture.

Then I die cut the Heffy Doodle Miss you sentiment: the shadow I cut from vellum, the sentiment itself I cut 2 times from dark red cardstock and layered them on top of each other. Even 2 layers make instant dimension!

I also stamped another sentiment from the Heffy Doodle More Classic sentiments set under the envelope, they go so well together.

I gave the panel a teal mat and chose a pretty patterned paper from the Honey Bee Stamps Love Letters paper pad for the background. As a finishing touch I added glossy accents to the hearts. Isn’t it pretty? If you want to have coordinating envelopes, Honey Bee Stamps has them ready for you! So cool!

CARD 2

For my second card I used a fun mirror stamping and die cutting technique. Jennifer McGuire has a great video on this, you find it here.

I stamped the cute racoon from Honey Bee Stamps Stolen my Heart stamp set with Lawn Fawn Jellyfish ink: it allowed me to do some no-line colouring and it is Copic marker friendly. For the mirror stamping I used MFT Mirror Image stamp but any big solid stamp would do. I managed to die cut both little racoons with the coordinating die, I followed Jennifer’s instructions. As the face expression wasn’t visible, I drew it back with a black thin line marker.

Then I used the Slimline die sets from Heffy Doodle to create the layers: a scalloped red rectangle (Slimline Pull Tab dies), a bit smaller dark grey stitched rectangle and a pretty frame (Stitched Slimline Trio) from cream cardstock (I love the Speckled Eggshell from Lawn Fawn). In the openings of the frame I used patterned paper from the Honey Bee Stamps Love Letters paper pad. I also inserted a light pink mat in between the dark grey rectangle and the frame.

The sentiment is from the Honey Bee Stamps Stolen my heart set: I heat embossed it on vellum with black sparkle embossing powder 2 times for a raised look. I used my Misti stamping tool for this, but even one layer of embossing powder givs a beautiful result! I used the coordinating die to cut it out and adhered it to the middle window using tiny drops of liquid glue behing the letters.

The card base is 3,5*8,5 inches. I popped up the racoons with 3D foam suares, added glossy accents to the nose and hearts and embellished the frame with tiny jewels from the Honey Bee Stamps Love letters gem collection. I love how this turned out, I hope it makes you smile too!

‘Till Death Do Us Craft Collaboration – card #2

Hello Everyone,

I am back with my second card for the ‘Till Death Do Us Craft collaboration, which is a month long event with some other crafty girls to share a Halloween inspiration for you. If you want to see our projects, just use the #tilldeathdouscraft tag to search on social media.

I started with the background using the Echo Park Trick or treat stencil on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. To make sure that this intricate stencil stays in place while I am ink blending, I used Pixie Spray on the back of the stencil. It makes wonders, just make sure to wait 30 seconds at least before adhering it to the paper to ensure the perfect stickiness. After removing the stencil I added some grey and black splatters and also some white acrylic paint splatters. I set it aside to dry and then die cut it with the Wonky Stitches die from Avery Elle.

I also die cut a Honey Bee Stamps The name’s Jack ghost from black cardstock and from glittered white. On the latter I used the small dies to cut eyes and mouth too. Then I layered them on top of each other. So cute!

The sentiment is a mixture of the Simon Says Stamp Boo die set (cut from black and purple cardstocks 3 times) and the Simon Says Stamp Creepy cute stamp set from which I white heat embossed an additional line on a thin black strip.

After assembling the card, I embellished it with Studio Katia Exotic Onyx Pearls, which brought back the purple shades a little.

With coffee no prob-llama

It is Zsofi here today with one last post as a guest designer on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog this month. I am so grateful for Amy that she invited me, I truly enjoyed every single minute I spent creating coffee themed projects.

It was not easy to choose which brands to feature in my last post, so I decided to make a total mix of some of my favourites.

I have the Simon Says Stamp So pun friends stamp set for a while, but never used it before. It was a collaboration with Doodlebug Designs. When I saw that llama, I just could not resist! I stamped and coloured the images with Copic markers and added some dotted details to the fur when I was done with the colouring. I used a slightly darker brown marker and a white gel pen to add texture. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the cardbase I die cut the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder die from dark brown cardstock. I wanted some texture on the front flap, so I masked it off and added a mixture of Thermoweb Deco Foil Metallix gel in Aged Copper and Black Ice. I simply used my spatula to mix them on my glass mat before applying it over a stencil from Mint Owl Studio. The stencil pal made it super easy to achieve a thin but even layer.

Until the card base was drying I die cut the coffee sleeve from patterned paper (Doodlebug Cream and Sugar) and adhered the images to it. I also die cut the coffee cup from wite cardstock and used light brown Copic markers to add a bit of shading to it. The sentiment is from the MFT Cup of love stamp set.

I did not use any embellishments on this cute card, only some glossy accents on the llama and his cup. The eyes I made shiny with a black glaze pen.

Swimming by – Under the sea Card Series #5

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with my 5th post in the Under the sea Card Series, I hope you enjoy this late summer inspiration so far!

Today’s card features the cute mermaid and turtle from the Swimming by stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. I stamped them with Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I used the coordinating die to cut them out and coloured them with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pens. I added some sparkle to the tale with a Tonic Aqua shimmer pen.

The background is made on a Bristol Smooth card base using Distress inks (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch). After I sponged some on the card base lightly I went back with the same colours through a Cascading Scallop stencil (MFT). I distressed it with water and dabbed it with a paper towel to create texture.

The sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock an die cut with the coordinating die (I love the look). The other half of the sentiment is stamped with Blue Lagoon ink from Gina K Designs.

I adhered the sentiment an the turtle flat and popped up the mermaid with foam squares. A few clear crystals from Studio Katia finished off this cute card.
