Have a lovely Christmas – LDRS Creative

Hello Everyone,

Iam on the LDRS Creative Blog today with a foxy Christmas card. I love to mix and match stamps and dies from my LDRS Creative stash to create a totally new look and use stamps for other occasions than what they were designed for.

ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_ARCTICSNOWFALL1_DEC5

These foxes from the Arctic Snowfall stamp set were begging me to colour them for a while now. I just could not resist any longer, i used my alcohol markers to add colour to them. Then i fussy cut them out with my scissors, and used a black marker on the edges to make any imperfection disappear.

ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_ARCTICSNOWFALL2_DEC5

To set the scene for my fox family, i die cut the rectangle from the Eyelet Lace Rectangle die set from a patterned paper (Arctic Snowfall paper pad) and also from white glitter paper. I used the stitched slope die from the Snowy Day border die set to cut the snowy slopes.

ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_ARCTICSNOWFALL3_DEC5

I cut another patterned paper from the same collection to cover an A2 sized card front and stamped the sentiment from the Love in blooms stamps set using Mrs Periwinkle Hybrid Ink. I love how well it coordinates with the patterned paper i used in the background!

ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_ARCTICSNOWFALL5_DEC5

The other half of the sentiment is a die cut Christmas: i cut it from dark grey cardstock and from glitter cardstock which i layered on top of the grey one a bit offset. I assembled the card and adhered the foxes in place using a thin 3D foam tape. I used a black glaze pen and a white gel pen on the noses and eyes as a finishing touch.

I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

I hope you got inspired to stretch your stamps and make holiday cards with them. Until next time, happy crafting!

And now let’s get started with the cards I made for you today.
CARD 1
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_CLOUDNO92_NOV30
This clean and simple card features the new Cloud no.9 stamp set and a bunch of Hybrid inks. I will show you how i swatched them and keep them in a 2×2″ page protector.
20181122_120833
For the card itself I made a little tutorial for you to see the process.
20181122_110016.jpg
I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and white heat embossed the cloud border and one of the sentiments.
20181122_120953
Then i selected a rainbow of colours from the hybrid ink range: Plum Crazy, Bali Blue, Key Lime Pie, Lantern Yellow, In your face Orange, Kiss me Red. I used a little ink blending tool to apply the inks in rainbow order. To make it very gentle, i tapped off the access ink on a piece of scrap paper before applying it on my embossed piece. I used a light hand first with circular motion.
20181122_121141
Whenever i was done with one colour, I added the next one, then went back with the previous colour to make the transition smooth.
20181122_122314
After i was ready, I used a clean paper towel to wipe off the access ink which coloured my white embossing. It worked for me, but if you want to be absolutely sure that your sentiment is bright white, i suggest doing the ink blending first, drying it completely with a heat gun and only then add the white heat embossing.
20181122_122321
I wanted to make the clouds pop more, so i pressed my ink cubes on an acrylic block and used a wet paintbrush to apply the ink on the clouds. This way my clouds got a bit more intense. I also used a clear shimmer pen to make them sparkly.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_CLOUDNO92b_NOV30
I added a thin black mat to my panel and adhered it to a white heavy weight card base. The only embellishment i used was 3 tiny clear sequins scattered around the sentiment.
CARD 2
My second card today features some other images from the Cloud 9 stamp set and also the pretty Eyelet Lace Rectangle die
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_CLOUDNO91_NOV30
I started with die cutting the gorgeous big rectangle die from this set 3 times from white cardstock and once from silver metallic cardstock. I kept the little eyelet pieces from the silver one in the die cut as much as i could and layered the white lace on top of them using liquid glue. I love how dimensional it got with this tiny trick! To place the escaped little pieces back where they belong to, i used a sticky jewel picker and a craft pick.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_CLOUDNO91d_NOV30
I used silver embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment and 2 cloud images from the above mentioned stamp set. I coloured them with pink glitter pens and also went over the embossed frame with the light pink glitter marker to add more sparkle to the design.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_CLOUDNO91c_NOV30
I adhered this panel to an A2 sized white notecard which i previously covered with one of the patterned papers from the Sincerely Yours paper collection.

For my card today I used the super sweet Hanging out stamp set from the Polkadoodles line. Such adorable critters! Perfect for any occasion, you just need to change the sentiment! How versatile is that?
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_HANGINGOUT2_NOV29
I stamped the image on white cardstock using Raven Hybrid ink. I used alcohol markers to add some colour, then trimmed the panel down to a square shape. I gave it a black mat and used a patterned paper from the Sincerely Yours paper collection in the background before I adhered it to a white card base.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_HANGINGOUT4_NOV29
I used a sentiment from the Love in bloom stamp set just under the image. To match the frame, I used Raven Hybrid ink.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_HANGINGOUT3_NOV29
As I love to add details to my colouring, I used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the critters and a clear shimmer pen on the butterflies, flowers and the scarves. I also added a bit of glossy accent here and there to emphasize some details.

And now, let’s dive in today’s inspiration. Many times when I give a gift to someone I love, I need tags as well as a card. Therefore today’s project shows you a way how to make coordinating tags with a Clean and Simple card.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS1a_NOV28
For my card I used the beyond pretty Beautiful Blooms stamp set and stamped the bunch of flowers and the sentiment on white cardstock using Raven Hybrid ink. I used alcohol markers to colour the image and trimmed the panel down.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS5_NOV28
I added a gold mat to it and used 3D foam tape to adhere it to a 4.24*5.5 inch rectangle cut from patterned paper from the Sincerely Yours paper pad. I love how heavy weight this patterned paper has!
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS4_NOV28
I really wanted to keep the card simple, but I had to use a white gel pens to add some dots and also glossy accents to the middle of the flower.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS3_NOV28
For the tags I die cut first the gorgeous die from the Eyelet Lace Rectangle die set 4 times from white cardstock.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS2_NOV28
I stamped the flower from the Beautiful Blooms stamp set on 2 of them along with a sentiment using Raven Hybrid ink. I used the same alcohol markers as above to add colour.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS6_NOV28
Then I layered a piece of gold metallic paper in between a stamped and a plain tag and used liquid glue to adhere them together. Not only I get a layered look, but also the tag looks so neat from the back also and I have space for my personal message too.
ZSOFIA_Safsafdesign2016_BEAUTIFULBLOOMS7_NOV28
I recycled some ribbon from my stash and used simple white twine to tie a bow on the top of the tags. I added a bit of glossy accents to the middle of the flowers and my project is finished.
I hope I inspired you!
Now it is time to hop along and leave a comment so you could win!

Dimensional background with die cuts

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with a clean and simple card design using goodies from LDRS Creative. The pretty Peek-a-boo Autumn Breeze background die makes a perfect clean and simple card with the oval cut in the centre for your sentiment. This is such a beautiful die, can easily be the star of the card on its own. To take it to the next level, I will show you a trick.

I started with die cutting this gorgeous background from a specialty gold cardstock. For easy handling I used washi tape to hold the oval die in the middle.  I love dimension on my cards so I die cut the same die another 2 times from dark brown cardstock. I layered them on top of each other and adhered it to a dark brown card base. It looks almost like a decorative chipboard with a golden finish!

Then I die cut the oval from cream cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the Happy Fall stamp set using Coffee Bean Hybrid ink along with 2 little leaves from the same set.

And here comes the second trick: I added some sparkle with a sparkle pen to the coloured leaves and went over the letters of Blessings too. As a finishing touch, I added two lines under the sentiment with the same gold sparkle pen and adhered the oval to the card.

I hope you like today’s inspiration and you will try to stack up your dies for a dimensional look. Until next time, happy crafting!

Custom background with stamping – LDRS Creative

Hello Everyone!

It is Zsofi here and I am so excited to share with you my very first project as Design Team member for LDRS Creative! I am featuring some gorgeous Fall stamps on my card today along with a bunch of beautiful Hybrid inks. Let’s dive in how I prepared my card.

ZSOFIA_FALLFULLOLEAVES1a_NOV3

I started with stamping one of the bold leaves from the Fall Full O Leaves stamp  set using the 2nd generation stamping technique. I used a stamp positioner tool to help me lining up the stamps perfectly.

ZSOFIA_FALLFULLOLEAVES2a_NOV3

I started at the left upper corner, placed the leaf stamp hanging off my white card base a little and placed a simple typing paper over the card base. I inked up the stamp with Scarlet Rose Hybrid ink and stamped it on the typing paper. Then removed the paper and immediately stamped it on the card base. I got a much lighter coloured leaf in this way. I repeated the same process once more to get a slightly darker result and cleaned my stamp with a stamp cleaner before placing it next to the dark red leaf and moving on to the next colour.

ZSOFIA_FALLFULLOLEAVES4a_NOV3

I did the same with all the ink colours: In your face orangeBali BlueOlive branch and Dan-d-lion. I made sure to clean the stamps very well before changing colours. When the whole card base was covered, I went back and stamped the textured part of the leaf using the same inks, just this time i stamped directly on the card base. It looks so pretty, like I used different shades of each colour but i didn’t.

ZSOFIA_FALLFULLOLEAVES3a_NOV3

I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple, so i chose a beautiful sentiment from the Happy Fall Sentiments stamp set. I stamped it on a simple white rectangle with Alloy Hybrid ink. I gave it a mat using vellum and popped it up on the card using doubled up 3D foam tape for extra dimension. I added a few clear sequins and my card is finished.

ZSOFIA_FALLFULLOLEAVES5a_NOV3

I love the pretty colours, perfect for Fall and even for Thanksgiving. I hope you got inspired and will try this technique.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Halloween Card Series 2018 – Day 9 Announcement

halloween_2018_FB

Hello everyone,

Happy Halloween to all of you who celebrate! Today I am sharing with you my last card in the Halloween Card Series this year. I enjoyed creating every single project I showed you, and had so many more ideas and stamps to feature, just ran out of time. Next year 😉

Today’s card is special as it comes with an announcement: I am thrilled to join the fabulous Design Team at LDRS Creative as of November! To celebrate this lovely news, I made my last Halloween cards using some goodies from LDRS Creative.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm01IG

I started with stamping the cute witch from the PolkaDoodles Winne Magic stamp set using LDRS Creative Raven Hybrid on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour the image. I stamped the sentiment from the SSS Handwritten Halloween stamp set and also some bats in the background.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm03

I used the LDRS Creative Build a card Punkin die set to make a pumpkin shaped card. I die cut the coloured panel with the smaller pumpkin die and inked up the edges with Black Soot distress ink. I did not do any masking, I simply went as close to the image as I could with the ink blending tool.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm04

Then I created the card base from folded white cardstock and the bigger die. I die cut another piece from orange cardstock (one layer only) and adhered it to the card front. I die cut the leaves and swirls from green cardstock and added a bit of shading with my ink blending tool which still had a black ink on it.

HalloweenCardSeries_LDRS_zsm02

I used the small embellishment die to cut a black and white piece, stamped a spider from the SSS stamp set and popped it up on the card. A few added details with a Sakura Glitter pen and a black glaze pen and my cute pumpkin shaped Halloween card is finished.

I will link this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

I hope you enjoyed the series and it helped you to get in the Halloween mood. From now on you will see mostly Christmas inspiration here, so if you feel like, just subscribe to make sure you will not miss any of my posts. Thanks for spending the last 9 days with me and I wish to see you soon again!

Happy crafting,

Zsofi
