It is my son’s 7th birthday and as he is fond of trains, I had to make him a train card of course.
I started with stamping and colouring the images from Avery Elle Christmas Train. I used Copic markers and because blue is my little boy’s favourite colour, I made the train and cart blue. I used the coordinting dies to cut all images out.
For the background I used Newton’s Nook Design’s Petite Snow stencil with white textured paste on light blue cardstock. I set it aside to dry until I was working on the sentiment.
I die cut the Happy and Birthday words from the Waffle Flower Year Round words set using black cardstock. I also die cut a balloon from MFT Balloon Numbers from red glitter cardstock and backed it with a white balloon.
To set the scene I needed a snowbank so I used Newton’s Nook Design’s Land border die and white glitter cardstock. The perfect railway I found in Mama Elephant’s Little Train Agenda.
After assembling the card I popped up the train and balloon with 3D foam squares and used a clear shimmer pen on the presents and glossy accents to emphasize some details.
Another card in my Unicorn Card Series, this time featuring Avery Elle.
I started with the background by stencilling the colourful clouds. I used Distress Inks and MFT Cloud stencil.
Then I stamped, coloured and die cut the images from the Avery Elle Pegasus Duo stamp set. I used Copic markers. After die cutting I added some shimmer with a Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen and some shine with glossy accents.
I heat embossed a sentiment from the set on a strip of black cardstock with white embossing powder. I mounted the elements on the background using 3D foam squares. I embellished the card with some silver glitter die cut stars.
It was the perfect card for a unicorn birthday gift pack.
I hope you are all having a wonderful time celebrating the last day of 2017 and welcoming all the good things of the next year. We had a little party with the kids at my parents, and before i jump in bed and have a recovering good sleep till 2018, I wanted to share with you my Happy New Years Lawn Fawn card.
I used my favourite stamp set Fairy friends, stamped the cute fairies and coloured them with Copics. I die cut them with the coordinating dies. I added some shimmer with the Tonic shimmer pen to the wings.
The background is stenciled (MFT Mini cloud edges) with Tumbled Glass distress ink. The sentiment (Big Scripty Words) is heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder (WOW) and i sponged distress ink on it as well to match the background. The rest of the sentiment is from a Joy Clair set (Hello sentiments).
I added a silver glitter frame to the scene (Avery Elle Postage stamps frame die) and finished the card with a bunch of rainbow jewels from Honey Bees Stamps.
I hope you like my card and thank you so much for following my crafty journey here and on Instagram too. I am so grateful for every single comment you leave me, it totally brightens my day and make it all worth it. Cheers to a prosperous 2018, full of crafting and fun!
