Coffee Card Series – Doodlebug Designs

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to my Coffee Card Series! It is Day 2 and I brought you a card set made with the adorable Pumpkin Spice collection from Doodlebug Designs. I bought this set a year ago and I had to look at it for a full year to make up my mind and cut in the patterned paper pack and use up some stickers. Please tell me I am not the only crazy Doodlebug hoarder who would love to have 2 of everything to actually use up these cuties!

I used the Heart Frames die set from Newton’s Nook Designs to cut a scalloped heart from cream and a stitched heart from dark brown cardstock. For the background I chose a beautiful leaves pattern from the paper pad. I adhered the Pumpkin Spice Doodle Pops in the middle of the heart and popped up a banner sentiment from the Chit Chat collection using 3D foam squares.

I added another sentiment to the top which makes this card super sweet, like the mug is talking.

As embellishments I used a couple of stickers from the Mini Icon Stickers sheet.

I did not want to let the remaining leaves pattern paper go to waste so I made a second card. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Windy Backdrop on a piece of cream cardstock and added a strip of patterned paper to the bottom. I could not resist adding a thin strip of aqua glitter cardstock too, it adds the necessary bling.

I used the Beary Cute Doodle Pops and added a Pumpkin Spice Latte sticker from the sticker sheet to the bear’s hand. I chose 2 thought bubble sentiments and a banner one and popped them up with 3D foam squares.

This time I used the adorable bees which came with the bear as embellishments.

These cards came together so easily, the hardest part was to decide that I will use my beloved Pumpkin Spice collection. But it was all worth it, it makes me smile whenever I look at these cards.

I will link this card up to the Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop.

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration for today and will pop in again tomorrow for more.

See you,

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Iam so happy to announce the first day of the June Release Reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs! It is gonna be a fun, summer-themed week here on my blog, I cannot wait to show you everything I have been busy with. Today our Design Team showcases Newton’s 4th July and an adorable mini set called Buns Out. We also have a versatile new stencil, Fireworks, perfect for all kinds of celebrations.

All new products will be available on Friday, 18/06/2021!

For my first card I have stamped the vagon with the rockets and critters from the Newton’s 4th July set on alcohol ink friendly cardstock and coloured the image with Copic markers. I used the coordinting dies to cut it out.

For the background I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo from Thermoweb with the Fireworks stencil on dark blue cardstock. I usually use a spatula and the Thermoweb Stencil Pal when using any kind of pastes, it makes it so easy to spread it evenly. I set it aside to dry until it was clear and then I foiled it with Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil using only the pressure of my die cut machine. Honestly I was lazy to heat up my laminator for one card only and the formula of the Transfer Gel Duo allows foiling with pressure only (no heat needed). Perfect solution for me! I die cut the panel with the postage edge die from Frameworks.

I also die cut a rounded rectangle from white cardstock using the Frames and Flags die set. I stamped the Celebrate sentiment on the bottom of the panel and embellished the top with the fireworks images from the Newton’s 4th July set using blue ink.

Another sentiment I white heat embossed on a grey banner (Frames and Flags die set) and adhered it to the focal panel. I popped up the image with 3D foam squares and covered the rockets and stars with glossy accents for a shiny look.

For my second card I had a cute idea inspired by the sentiment in the Buns Out mini set. So I stamped the burger 4 times and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illsutrator markers. The colours used are the following – Sausage: TN9, EB5, EB3 Bun: GB7, GB4, GB2, MB1 Lettuce: DG4, DG3, DG2 Cheese: CT4, CT3, CT1 Tomato: DR4, DR3, DR1

I used the coordinating die to cut them out and while I was die cutting I also cut a postage edge rectangle (Frameworks) and little stitched triangles as napkins (Frames Squared) from the Doodlebug Designs Bar-be-cute paper pad. It matches my scene prefectly.

I also heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock and cut it out with a fun little ticket die from Frameworks. I assembled the card, popped up the sun-bathing burgers with 3D foam squares and used glossy accents on the sesame seeds and sunglasses as a finishing touch. I think it is my favourite funny summer card till now!

Here is what I created:

I stamped the girl with a few leaves and coffee cups from Pumpkin Latte using a brown Hybrid ink from I coloured everything with Copics using Fall colours. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

I die cut a postage stap die from Frameworks from a lovely Doodlebug patterned paper (Fall Friends). I also die cut the rounded rectangle from Frames and Flags from blue cardstock and a double stitched oval with an MFT die to be my focal point. I used the grass from Land border die set to cut from a green oval so my girl has something to stand on.

I stamped the sentiment above the girl using a teal Catherine Pooler ink.

I used liquid glue and 3D foam squares to assemble the scene and added some orange twine on the top of the card.

I finished it off with some glossy accents on the coffee lids, scarf and rain boots. I love the shiny finish so much! I also used a black glaze pen on the buttons, so they pop!

Honey Bunnies – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. I created a bright and cheerful Easter card for you today using some older and newer stamps and dies. So easy to create your own sentiments this way!  Let’s dive in the details!

First I stamped the bunnies and Easter eggs from the Honey Bunny boo stamp set. I stamped the eggs several times to fill up my scene. Then I used my Copics to bring these cuties alive. I chose muted but still cheerful colours. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.

For the background I die cut a Skinny circle frame from white cardstock and then from vivid pink. The frames I stacked on top of each other for more dimension. On the inner white circle I arranged the “Hope you have a” sentiment from the Roundabout sentiments set using my MISTI stamping tool and stamped it with black ink. Then I took another sentiment from the same set which had the word “wonderful” in it, and arranged it in a way to complete the curve of the already stamped one. I masked off the unnecessary part before inking it up, removed the mask and stamped it in place. I love how it turned out, like it was one curved sentiment! Under it I stamped the Easter from the Honey Bunny Boo set with aqua ink. Looks so cool!

The bottom of the circle I sponged with Twisted citron Distress ink and above it I added a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress ink. Just to have some colour in the background for my bunnies. Then I arranged the die cut images: some I adhered flat, some I popped up with 3D foam squares.

I used a scalloped rectangle die to cut an Easter themed patterned paper (Doodlebug Designs) to hold my little circle scene and assembled the card on a top folding A2 sized white card base. I finished it with adding a little clear shimmer to the Easter eggs and a drop of glossy accents to the noses and stars.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I share my happy creations! Thank you!

With coffee no prob-llama

Hello Everyone,

It is Zsofi here today with one last post as a guest designer on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog this month. I am so grateful for Amy that she invited me, I truly enjoyed every single minute I spent creating coffee themed projects.

It was not easy to choose which brands to feature in my last post, so I decided to make a total mix of some of my favourites.

I have the Simon Says Stamp So pun friends stamp set for a while, but never used it before. It was a collaboration with Doodlebug Designs. When I saw that llama, I just could not resist! I stamped and coloured the images with Copic markers and added some dotted details to the fur when I was done with the colouring. I used a slightly darker brown marker and a white gel pen to add texture. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the cardbase I die cut the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder die from dark brown cardstock. I wanted some texture on the front flap, so I masked it off and added a mixture of Thermoweb Deco Foil Metallix gel in Aged Copper and Black Ice. I simply used my spatula to mix them on my glass mat before applying it over a stencil from Mint Owl Studio. The stencil pal made it super easy to achieve a thin but even layer.

Until the card base was drying I die cut the coffee sleeve from patterned paper (Doodlebug Cream and Sugar) and adhered the images to it. I also die cut the coffee cup from wite cardstock and used light brown Copic markers to add a bit of shading to it. The sentiment is from the MFT Cup of love stamp set.

I did not use any embellishments on this cute card, only some glossy accents on the llama and his cup. The eyes I made shiny with a black glaze pen.

I hope you enjoyed my coffee projects this month, I promise that there will be more fun coming soon!

Clean and simple Halloween

Hello Everyone,

While my blog was all in Christmas mood this week, today I wanted to give you another quick and easy Halloween card idea. This cute card was made with goodies from Pink and Main.

I stamped the cute bear from Less Tricks on white cardstock and coloured him with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut him out.

I also die cut a corner web from black cardstock.

For the background I chose a pretty foiled night sky from the Galaxy paper pad, cut it down to cover the front of an A2 sized card. I added a thin strip of dark grey cardstock to the bottom and adhered the corner web too. Then I popped up the bear with 3D foam squares.

I white heat embossed a sentiment and added 3 cute little spiders (Doodlebug stickers). That is the only embellishment I used on this cute and simple Halloween card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration an will pop in again soon! Till next time, happy crafting,

STAMPtember Exclusive with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Everyone,

I am super excited to share with you the newest STAMPtember collaboration set for Simon Says Stamp, this time with Newton’s Nook Designs!

This is an exclusive stamp set, available ONLY at Simon Says Stamp until supplies last!

For my cards I stamped and coloured the images on Copic friendly cardstock and coloured them with alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out leaving a little white outline.

To create the party scene, I die cut a rounded rectangle die (Frames and Flags) from heavy weight vellum from Simon Says Stamp and also from their Fog cardstock. The latter I trimmed down to a thin strip and adhered at the bottom of the vellum panel.

Then I arranged the party: a cat one and a separate one for dogs. I adhered all the images to the vellum using liquid glue or 3D foam squares.

I stamped the sentiments with black ink on white cardstock and die cut them with a small stamp die from the Frameworks die set. I also die cut a postage frame die from patterned paper from Doodlebug (Hello).

I assembled the card on kraft card bases, added iridescent jewels from Studio Katia as embellishments and covered the presents and balloons with clear shimmer. On the party hats, ribbons and noses I also used a drop of glossy accent.

I hope you like my cards and got tons of ideas for birthday scenes. Would be fun to mix them all and create a big cats&dogs party! If you like this set, hurry to the Simon Says Stamp website and purchase it quickly before it is gone!

See you soon with more inspiration!

Birthday Princess

Inky Paws Challenge

Hello Everyone,

I am back with the usual Monday inspiration for the current Inky Paws Challenge #64. The sketch is so gorgeous, not only for Valentine’s Day, but other occasions too.

Image may contain: text

My daughter is turning 7 years old in a week (unbelievable!) and I wanted to make her a card which I will give on her big day – as we celebrated already over the weekend due to my husbands work shift starting on Friday. We cannot have a party without daddy.

20180124_140827 wm

I knew I wanted to use the Once upon a princess stamp and die set from Newton’s Nook Designs, but before I started the colouring, I looked through my patterned paper drawer for the right papers to go with the sketch and the theme. I love Doodlebug and their Fairy Tales collection seemed to be a perfect match.

20180124_140808 wm

I used Copic markers in coordinating colours to bring my princess and castle to life. I love that the die cuts little holes under the arms and the flag, it makes it look like cardstock stickers. Perfection.

20180124_140751 wm

Then I die cut the elements for the sketch, a heart, a rectangle and a thin strip of patterned paper to hold my white heat embossed sentiment.

20180124_140818 wm

I used 3D foam tape to assemble the card, in this way I got so much dimension. I added a bit of Tonic Aqua shimmer pen on the dress for the sparkle (a princess needs that right?), and some glossy accents to emphasize some details. I used pretty gems from Studio Katia to finish it off.

20180124_140724 wm

I will upload this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Layer it.

I hope you like my card and got inspired to participate in the Inky Paws Challenge. You have time until Friday (2nd Feb) to upload your project to be eligible to win the 20 USD gift certificate to the NND online store.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you back here soon.

Have a wonderful week,

National Cocoa Day

Hello Everyone,

I am popping in with a quick card to celebrate the National Cocoa Day on the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. The funny thing is, that my Simon Says Stamp package just arrived in the morning and it had a little freebie stamp with this cute image. I felt I just had to use it right away.

20171213_153636 wm

I started with die cutting a tag (Clearly Besotted die) from white cardstock, added a little blue gingham paper with a dark brown mat to the bottom of it. I stamped the sentiment from the mini set with Gina K Designs inks.

20171213_153749 wm

Then I stamped the mouse with the cacao, coloured it with Copics and added some details with a white gel pen, black glaze pen, Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen and glossy accents.

20171213_153743 wm

While it was drying I die cut some pine tree branches (Simon Says Stamp) from metallic green cardstock and covered the whole of the tag. I also added a dark red paper bow (Mama Elephant die) using liquid glue.

20171213_153656 wm

The background is a cute patterned paper from Doodlebug, matted with dark brown cardstock. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the tag.

I will upload this to the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and also to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Christmas/Winter holidays.

I hope you like my card and will pop in again soon. I am off to have my hot cacao now from my favourite mug! Yummie.

Holiday Card Series 2017 – #1

winter backdrop wm.jpg

Hello Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend. Welcome to my Holiday Card Series 2017. It is Monday again, a new Inky Paws Challenge is starting today with beautiful Christmas colours which inspired my very first card in this series.

Image may contain: text

20171101_135612 wm

For my card today I knew I wanted a chalkboard effect. So I took a piece of black cardstock and die cut a stitched rectangle from it. I used a sponge dauber and dabbed some white pigment ink on the edges. I made sure it is dry before I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed in white.

20171101_135653 wm

I also stamped and coloured the kitty with a striped scarf from the Newton’s Holiday Mischief stamp set using Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out. I die cut some pine tree branches (MFT die) from dark green and apple green cardstocks, and a bow (Studio Katia) from red glitter fun foam. I assembled my scene, gave the chalkboard panel a green mat and adhered it to a red-white striped patterned paper (Doodlebug design).

20171101_135629 wm

As a finishing touch I used a white gel pen to add some freckles to the kitty, some Spectrum Noir shimmer pen and glossy accents on the scarf.

20171101_135706 wm

I hope you like my card and got inspired to play along at the Inky Paws Challenge #59. You have 2 weeks to upload your project to be eligible to win a 20 USD gift certificate to the NND online store.

I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Calling all critters great and small

See you soon with more holiday cards and tags,
