Adventure time – Thermoweb

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure of playing with the Laura Kelly Collection from Thermoweb in the last couple of days and I have to say it made me giddy. Her designs are so simple yet heartwarming, it totall reminds me of my childhood and puts a permanent smile on my face. For the whole collection, please visit the Thermoweb shop, it has stamps, toner sheets and beautiful foils. (Fine print: I am not affiliated nor on the Design Team of Thermoweb, but the goodies were sent to me for a collaboration with one of my DTs. The package was late but I love the designs so much that I cannot stop creating with them. So get ready for more!)

Today’s card was made for my kids for a very special occasion, we just got our small puppy on Friday. It is a small Bichon Havanese, a beautiful fluffy furball. He is called Lucky (I guess he truly is as he is already so loved). He is going to live with my parents who live in the same building with us. But back to the card now.

I started with a piece of purple cardstock and used Thermoweb Deco Foil Gel on it through the Heffy Doodle Lots of happy stencil. I used Pixie Spray to hold the stencil in place and applied the gel with a Stencil Pal. It makes it a breeze. I removed the stencil and washed it right away. I set the background aside for a while to dry. When it is clear, you can go ahead and foil it with your laminator. I used the Laura Kelly Berry Purple Foil Transfer sheet, as I wanted a tone on tone look.

Meanwhile I stamped the girl, the boy and the puppy from the Me and my peeps stamp set on a white stitched rectangle. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour them quickly, here is the list of colours I used: FS8, FS7, FS4, HB3, HB2, HB1, BT7, BT5, BT1, EB5, EB4, EB3, RB2, RB1. I stamped the You and me sentiment under them in purple (Catherine Pooler ink).

I white heat embossed Adventure time from the Heffy Doodle Wavy Banner Sentiment set on black cardstock ad cut it out with the coordinating dies. I popped it up with 3D foam squares under the stampd greeting and gave the panel a light blue mat.

After assembling the card I used a clear sparkle pen on the balloons and covered them with glossy accents.

I hope you like my inspiration today with the Laura Kelly collection mixed with Heffy Doodle goodies. I will be back soon with more!

See you,

Zsofi

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Iam so happy to announce the first day of the June Release Reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs! It is gonna be a fun, summer-themed week here on my blog, I cannot wait to show you everything I have been busy with. Today our Design Team showcases Newton’s 4th July and an adorable mini set called Buns Out. We also have a versatile new stencil, Fireworks, perfect for all kinds of celebrations.

All new products will be available on Friday, 18/06/2021!

CARD 1

For my first card I have stamped the vagon with the rockets and critters from the Newton’s 4th July set on alcohol ink friendly cardstock and coloured the image with Copic markers. I used the coordinting dies to cut it out.

For the background I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo from Thermoweb with the Fireworks stencil on dark blue cardstock. I usually use a spatula and the Thermoweb Stencil Pal when using any kind of pastes, it makes it so easy to spread it evenly. I set it aside to dry until it was clear and then I foiled it with Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil using only the pressure of my die cut machine. Honestly I was lazy to heat up my laminator for one card only and the formula of the Transfer Gel Duo allows foiling with pressure only (no heat needed). Perfect solution for me! I die cut the panel with the postage edge die from Frameworks.

I also die cut a rounded rectangle from white cardstock using the Frames and Flags die set. I stamped the Celebrate sentiment on the bottom of the panel and embellished the top with the fireworks images from the Newton’s 4th July set using blue ink.

Another sentiment I white heat embossed on a grey banner (Frames and Flags die set) and adhered it to the focal panel. I popped up the image with 3D foam squares and covered the rockets and stars with glossy accents for a shiny look.

CARD 2

For my second card I had a cute idea inspired by the sentiment in the Buns Out mini set. So I stamped the burger 4 times and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illsutrator markers. The colours used are the following – Sausage: TN9, EB5, EB3 Bun: GB7, GB4, GB2, MB1 Lettuce: DG4, DG3, DG2 Cheese: CT4, CT3, CT1 Tomato: DR4, DR3, DR1

I used the coordinating die to cut them out and while I was die cutting I also cut a postage edge rectangle (Frameworks) and little stitched triangles as napkins (Frames Squared) from the Doodlebug Designs Bar-be-cute paper pad. It matches my scene prefectly.

I also heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock and cut it out with a fun little ticket die from Frameworks. I assembled the card, popped up the sun-bathing burgers with 3D foam squares and used glossy accents on the sesame seeds and sunglasses as a finishing touch. I think it is my favourite funny summer card till now!

Newton’s Nook Designs and Thermoweb Collaboration

Hello Everyone,

This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for fabulous Fall, Halloween and Christmas inspiration! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to use Therm O Web products with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps!

I will not reveal a secret if I admit how much I love both companies and playing with texture on my cards. I could not stop creating backgrounds with flock, foils and glitter paste. All the gorgeous stencils Newton’s Nook Designs offer got a whole new life!

CARD 1

I started with the background: on gout grey cardstock I applied Transfer gel through the Tree Rings stencil. I let it completely dry, then added white flock with the help of my laminator. That moment of removing the backing sheet is indescribable! Magical really! The flock has a very soft touch and it is not bright white rather has like a tone-on-tone look.

Then I coloured the kitty with the pumpkins from Newton’s Bootiful Night with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut it out.

The sentiment is from Newton’s Pumpkin Patch. I stamped with Versamark ink on black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

A few gold crystals from Studio Katia, a bit of clear shimmer on the pumpkin carvings and drops of glossy accents on the stems made it complete.

CARD 2

For my second card I created an ink blended background using Distress Oxide inks (Black Soot – Faded Jeans – Seedless Preserves) which I distressed with water. Then I applied again Transfer Gel through the Flying bats stencil and let it dry. After a long hour I used black flock and the laminator to apply it on the stenciled background.

I cut the panel down with a rounded rectangle die from Frames and Flags, matted it with black and purple glitter cardstock. I also die cut a dark blue postage stamps mat from Frameworks.

The white heat embossed sentiment and the kitty are from Newton’s Boo-tiful night, just this time I used watercolour markers and fussy cut the image.

To make it stand out more, I used 3D foam squares.

CARD 3

I could not let the day pass without some foiling when I had my laminator out. I applied Passionate pink deco foil on a striped toner paper (Gina K Designs Foil mates Stars and Stripes) with the help of a laminator. I die cut it with a scalloped rectangle die from Frames and Fags.

I also die cut a piece of vellum with the rounded rectangle die from the same die set and the sentiment (Holiday greetings) and pine branches (Pine and Holly) from green glitter cardstock (Lawn Fawn).

The sloth is from the Slothy Christmas stamp set coloured with Copic markers but I used a grey pencil to add some furry details. I used its coordinating die to cut it out.

After assembling the card I felt I needed a bow. So I took a tiny scrap of white cardstock, covered it with Stick it double sided adhesive and stuck the pink foil on it. I burnished it with a bone folder and die cut it with the small bow die from Pine and holly. I used a silver crystal as embellishment.

CARD 4

I saved my favourite for last: a cute winter scene in the woods.

I created a Distress Oxide background with blue tones and applied white Glitz Glitter gel over the Petite snow stencil. I set it aside to dry.

While it was drying I stamped and coloured 2 of the foxes and some pine trees from the Fox Hollow stamp set. I used Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I also die cut a white scalloped rectangle as a mat and snowbank from white flock using a Land border die.

I white heat embossed the sentiment on a little kraft banner (Frames and flags) and assembled the scene on a kraft card base.

I added some details with a white gel pen and used a black glaze pen on the noses of the foxes.

CARD 1

NND_TOW_zsm01IG

I started with die cutting a scalloped stitched rectangle from dark blue cardstock using the Frames and flags die set. I layered the Petite Snow stencil over it and added a thin layer of Deco Foil Transfer gel with a spatula. I removed the stencil, washed it right away and set the panel aside to dry completely.

NND_TOW_zsm01a

Meanwhile I stamped the dancing couple from the Winter memories stamp set with Versafine Onyx black ink on white cardstock and clear heat embossed it. I also stamped a couple of pine trees using 2 shades of green ink and the rocking technique. I die cut them with their coordinating dies.

NND_TOW_zsm01b

I also wanted to make the ice look really icy, so I applied a thin layer of the Deco Foil Transfer gel on the stamp using a simple make up sponge. Then I stamped it like I would with normal ink. I set it aside to dry too.

NND_TOW_zsm01c

I needed a stitched hillside for my scene, which I cut from plain white cardstock and staped the Merry sentiment from the Sentiments of the season stamp set with black ink. I die cut the Christmas using the Holiday Greetings die set and Therm O Web’s Peel’n’stick Toner sheets.

NND_TOW_zsm01d

I foiled the background and the ice piece using my laminator and Therm O Web Deco Foil Opal Transfer sheets. It looks gorgeous in real life. For the Christmas sentiment I used Glittering Green Transfer Foil. I assembled the card using 3D foam squares and added a little green gemstone as the dot of the “i”.

CARD 2

NND_TOW_zsm02IG

I started again with the background: I sponged some distress inks on Bristol smooth cardstock and layered the Snowfall stencil over it. I added Deco Foil Transfer gel and let it dry before I foiled it with Therm O Web Iridescent Transfer Foil.

NND_TOW_zsm02d

I stamped and coloured some of the images form the Nutcracker’s Squeak set and cut them out with their coordinating dies. I die cut a stitched scalloped circle frame from Violet cardstock and an inner circle from Mint cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on this using purple ink.

NND_TOW_zsm02a

When assembling the scene, I added more dimension using 3D foam squares here and there and finished off the images with a black glaze pen and glossy accents.

CARD 3

NND_TOW_zsm03IG

I was so enthusiastic to try the Therm O Web Clear Toner sheets, I chose the O Christmas Tree one for my clean and simple card.

NND_TOW_zsm03c

I used the Sunset Deco Foil to add an ombre colour to the trees and sandwiched the foiled clear sheet in between white stitched hillsides (Land borders die set).

NND_TOW_zsm03b

I also used the Peel ‘n’ stick toner sheets to die cut the sentiment (Holiday Greetings die set) and foiled them with Gold Deco Foil. It was so easy to adhere them to the card thanks to the adhesive backing!
