Coffee Card Series – clean and simple

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to my Coffee Card Series! It is Day 3 and I have something clean and simple yet very funny for you. Perfect for a lazy Sunday.

First I took a piece of dark brown cardstock and temporarily adhered the Newton’s Nook Designs Mug stencil on it with Pixie Spray. I needed to fix it because I planned to apply clear embossing ink and it may hav shifted my stencil otherwise. I used the Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Dabber but you can use clear embossing ink with any ink applicator. I heat embossed it with Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate embossing powder. I love the tone-on-tone shiny look!

Then I cut a 2 inches wide strip of cream cardstock and stamped a funny sentiment on it from the Sweet’n Sassy Coffee Talk stamp set with clear embossing ink. Then in a separate container I mixed a little bit of the dark chocolate embossing powder with Gina K Designs Metallic Blush and Altenew Rose Gold. I used this mix to heat emboss the sentiment. As I use a Misti for stamping, it was easy to repeat the process another time: it gives a more raised and smoother result.

When the sentiment cooled down (literally 3 seconds) I stamped a cup from the same stamp set next to it with brown hybrid ink and quickly coloured it with Spectrum Noir Triblend markers: Earth Brown Shades and Gold Brown Shades, Before adhering the sentiment strip to the background I added some glitter cardstock mat to it and used a clear shimmer pen on the mug.

I know my coffee lover husband will understand the joke: we always tease each other with our common addiction to coffee. He likes the Turkish style, very roasted. I love my latte with coconut milk, yummy.

I will link this up to the Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration and will pop in again tomorrow.

See you,

Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – card #1

Hello Everyone,

I am so happy that my favourite event, the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is on! I love to make coffee themed cards and I was looking for this inspiration week so much!

This is my first card for the hop, created with Lawn Fawn goodies.

I started with the new Outside Stitched Mug die and cut it from teal cardstock. I ued Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink on the edges to add some shading. Then using the new Snowflake Trio stencil and Gina K Designs Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel I added a sparkly pattern to the mug.

I chose a couple of the Stitched Snowflakes dies to cut from Peacock cardstock and white glitter cardstock. I also die cu the Sweet die 3 times, stuck them together and added an ombre effect with Peacock Feathers Distress ink.

For the background I chose a plaid pattern from an older Lawn Fawn paper pad, shaded the edges with the same ink and assembled the card as on the picture. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the mug.

I decided to have an additional sentiment which is from the Simply Summer Sentiments set which I white heat embossed on dark grey cardstock. I used an Everday Sentiment Banner die to cut it out and popped it up with 3D foam squares. In this way the Sweet sentiment I could adhere on top of the mug and got some support from the banner too. So dimensional, I love it!

I wish you like my first coffee card, stay tuned for more!

See you,

Fairy sweet birthday ft Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

I have a cute birthday card for you today featuring stamps and dies from Heffy Doodle. I love how the different sets coordinate! I mixed up some older and newer stamps on this adorable design.

I started with stamping and colouring the fairies from Absotooth-ly awesome and from the Party Palooza stamp sets (the latter is deeply discounted, check it out in the Heffy Doodle shop!) I used Copic markers and cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

I created a Distress Oxide inked background using Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Oxide inks and an ink blending tool. I added some Tsukinko Shimmer Spritz droplets and also splattered some white acrylic paint all over for a textured look.

Then I used the Silver Lining Cloud border dies and cut it from white and also from silver glitter cardstock. I layered them on top of each other tiny offset. I love the little silver lining we get in this way!

The sentiment I stamped with pink ink (Gina K Designs) and it is from the Everyday Sentiment Duos set.

I assembled the card and popped up the cake with the two fairies with 3D foam squares. I added Diamond Stickles to the wings of the fairies and the flame of the candles and covered the frosting on the cake with glossy accents. It looks so yummy in real life!

I also scattered a few silver jewels from Studio Katia on the cloud border.

I will link this up to the Simon Says Stamp IG Challenge (Die cutting) and also to the SSS Wednesday Challenge (Anything goes).

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and will be back soon for more inspiration.

See you,
