I am back with some fresh inspiration for the Inky Paws Challenge #70.
I felt the sketch was shouting for a masculine card, so I gave it a try and came up with this design.
I started with selecting patterned paper and matching cardstock. I cut a window die from the olive cardstock and backed it with a strip of vellum. Before adhering it with foam tape, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Deer friend stamp set using gold embossing powder.
I really wanted to use the Splendid stags dies to cut some gold glitter deer. But the die I liked faced right. I needed a mirror die cut, so I simply cut it from the back side of the glitter paper. Worked out great, the scratches of my well used cutting plates do not show due to the glitter.
I popped up the 2 deer partially with foam tape and my clean and simple card for him is done.
I wish you like it and got inspired to play along the sketch challenge at IPC. There is still 5 days left for you to enter the challenge and be eligible to win the 20 USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook online store.
I will link this project up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Sparkle and Shine.
Hope to see you soon,
It is Monday and time for a fresh new challenge at the Inky Paws Challenge website. #70 is a great sketch which inspired me to make a clean and simple every day card.
I started with cutting a piece of red gingham paper and a strip of red and a strip of white cardstock. On the red one I cut 3 windows with a Simon Says Stamp Tri square die. On the white one I stamped the sentiment and the cute doughnuts from the Love bites stamp set.
I quickly coloured them with Copic markers, added some highlights with a blender pen, some clear shimmer and glossy accents. I adhered the red frame on top and tied a piece of twine around the bottom part.
I used a kraft card base and popped up the focal panel with 3D foam tape. To make sure the bow will not come undone, I used a drop of Multi Matte Medium on the knot.
I hope you like my simple card design an you got inspired to participate in the Inky Paws Challenge #70. You have 2 weeks to upload your project to be eligible to win the 20USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook Designs online store.
See you soon with more fun projects.
It is time for some fresh inspiration for the Inky Paws Challenge #69 Birthday Theme. As I am totally into unicorns these days, I made a unicorn party, heavily inspired by the challenge photo.
Here is my card:
I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock, and applied stripes with distress inks using masking tape. I flicked some water and some paint drops too for more texture and spritzed it all with Tsukineko Shimmer Mist for a subtle sparkle.
Then I stamped and coloured the unicorns from the Believe in unicorns set, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I adhered them to the distressed panel.
I wanted some colourful sentiments, so I stamped the handwritten ones from Pretty Pink Posh Birthday set using Altenew inks.
A bit of glossy accent and Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen on the hair of the unicorns finished off this fairy tale-style card.
I hope I inspired you and you will participate in the Inky Paws Challenge #69. You have time till Friday (13/04/2018) to upload your projects to be eligible to win the 20 USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook online store.
I will also upload this project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Trio of something) and Wednesday Challenge Happy Birthday.
See you tomorrow with another unicorn card.
Have an amazing day!
Happy Easter Monday for those of you who celebrate. It is time for a new Inky Paws Challenge, it is a birthday theme with a gorgeous inspirational photo.
It totally got stuck in my mind, I had to make a very colourful, rainbow birthday card.
I started with stamping all the different drinks from the Cocktail mixer stamp set, coloured them with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
I adhered them to a strip of white cardstock which I embellished with 2 stitched strips of black cardstock. Then I stamped some of the sentiments from the stamp set using coordinating ink colours.
I had some left over piece of rainbow patterned paper which I adhered to a white notecard and popped up the focal panel with 3D foam tape on it. Some Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen and glossy accents made the card really unique and fun to touch.
I hope I inspired you to participate in the Inky Paws Challenge #69. You have 2 weeks to link up your project on their blog to be eligible to win a 20 USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook Designs online store.
I will also link this project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.
See you soon with more spring cards,
It is time for another inspirational card for the current Inky Paws Challenge #68. The pastel colours are so springy, it cheers me up so much!
For today I was playing with the Beautiful Spring stamp set, and heat embossed the pretty eggs in white on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I sponged distress inks on the background very lightly.
Then I coloured the eggs with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers. I used my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen to add some sparkle to the eggs and emphasized some details with glossy accents.
I also added a ton of tiny pearls to the swirls and a few glitter enamel dots.
The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, I die cut it from white cardstock 3 timed and stacked them together for more dimension. I cut my panel slightly smaller than an A2 sized card, so I have a little white frame around it.
I hope I inspired you to play along with us on the Inky Paws Challenge #68. You have time till this Friday (30/03/2018) to be eligible to win the 20USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook Design online store.
See you soon,
I am back today as promised with some pastel colours. The new Inky Paws Challenge #68 is live with some gorgeous colours, perfect for spring cards.
For my card today I played with the cute Newton’s Easter Basket stamp and die set. I coloured my images with Copic markers to match the given colour combination.
I die cut an extra piece of the kitty in the basket from white cardstock and adhered it under the coloured one. In this way I get a bit of instant dimension without the bulk of foam tape. I love how the die cuts the little hole at the handle of the basket, such a nice detail!
Then I started to die cut elements for my scene: grass from green cardstock, the frame (Pretty Pink Posh) from yellow and several times from white and the Happy Easter sentiment (Echo Park die) from light blue and grey for the shadow.
I looked for some patterned paper which could match my scene and adhered everything to it. I applied a little Tonic Shimmer Aqua pen on the Easter eggs and some glossy accents for extra shine.
I hope you like my card and will play along the Inky Paws Challenge #68. You have 2 weeks to create and upload your project to be eligible to win the 20USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook Designs online store. They ship worldwide for a very reasonable price and super fast!
I will also upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (both Easter themed this week).
See you soon with more spring projects.
Have a lovely week,
It is Monday again and time for the new inspiration for the Inky Paws Challenge #67. I just love any sketch with a tag involved.
After last week’s bright colours I made a pastel Easter card for today.
I started with stamping and colouring the cute little bunny and butterfly from Bitty Bunnies using Copic markers. I added some dots with my darker colours as well as some accents with a white gel pen. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
To make a scene for them I used the Cloudy sky stencil and sponged pastel colours on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used a tiny sponge dauber, in this way I could use many colours of Distress Inks.
The tag is from the Fancy edges tag die set, the grass I created with one of the stitched chevron accent dies in the set. The sentiment is from Newton’s Easter basket. I tied a bow from twine on the top and popped up the critters with foam tape.
I die cut the stencilled background with a stitched rectangle die and I cut also 2 stitched banners from coordinating cardstocks to go behind the tag, which is popped up with 3D foam tape.
A tiny bit of Tonic Aqua shimmer and glossy accents finished it off. I hope you like my card and got in spring mood. Come and play along with us at the Inky Paws Challenge #67, it is open until Friday (16/03/2018). A random winner will get a 20USD gift certificate to the awesome Newton’s Nook Designs online store.
I will upload this card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Whatever the weather and to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Girl Power.
Have a wonderful week and see you soon with more spring projects.
It is March already, hopefully spring is coming soon. Until it arrives, I have a very cheerful card for you as inspiration for the new Inky Paws Challenge #67. The sketch is this:
And my card based on the sketch:
I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and blended some distress inks on it in rainbow order. Then I used the Tumbling hearts stencil and went over it with the same inks. Before removing the stencil I added Shimmer Spritz for a delicate shimmer. I die cut this panel with a stitched rectangle die.
Then I stamped the kitty on a balloon from Newton’s Birthday Bash stamp set, coloured with Copics making the balloon to match the rainbow background. I die cut it with the coordinating die.
I cut a tag (Sugar Pea Designs) from white cardstock, stamped the sentiment on it in black and adhered the die cut kitty at an angle.
I also die cut some banners using the Frames and flags die set, and a pretty bow (Studio Katia die). After assembling the card I used a clear shimmer pen on the balloon and an enamel dot in the middle of the bow.
I hope you like my card and will participate in the current Inky Paws Challenge. You have 2 weeks to upload your project to the link to be eligible to win the 20USD gift certificate to the NND online store.
I will also link up this project to the Simon Says Stamp Anything goes Wednesday Challenge and to the Simon Says National Craft Month Celebration blog post.
See you soon with more spring cards. Have a lovely day!
Happy Monday Everyone,
I am back here again with some more baby cards for the Inky Paws Challenge #66 Baby theme.
I purchased the Lovable Laundry stamp and Stitched onesie die set last year from Newton’s Nook, and it became one of my favourites since then. The images are super cute, so easy and fun to colour, the possibilities are endless. It makes the sweetest baby cards and the die adds some faux stitching which is adorable.
For this week I wanted something really colourful and suitable for a new baby boy. I selected a couple of Doodlebug patterned paper and die cut them using a stitched collage die from MFT. I cut the same die also from coordinating coloured cardstock and paper pieced them on a white top folding card base.
I stamped the sentiments in black ink on the blue panels on both cards. Then I stamped the onesies on Copic friendly cardstock and coloured them with Copics. After die cutting them I popped them up on the cards using extra layers of the onesie cut from white cardstock. It looks like chipboard in this way.
On one of the cards I added some white fancy scalloped circles under the onesies for more contrast. It would not be a card from me without some Tonic Aqua Shimmer and glossy accents.
I hope you got inspired and will participate in the Inky Paws Challenge #66. You have time until Friday (2nd March) to upload your projects on their website to be eligible to win a 20USD gift certificate to the Newton’s Nook Designs online store.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you return soon.
Have a lovely week,
A new challenge is live on the Inky Paws Challenge site. The theme is Baby cards, such a fun thing to create.
For my card today I wanted to challenge myself and use the latest Newton’s Nook Designs stamps I have. So I created a little cupcake family using images from Sending Hugs and Love bites. I coloured them with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Then I set the scene: I die cut a stitched heart from white cardstock, 2 stitched scalloped edges from green, a piece of Doodlebug patterned paper and some strips of purple cardstock. I assembled the card on a white card base ad popped up the little cupcake with 3D foam tape to put it in the spotlight.
The sentiment is from Lovable Laundry, stamped in Lavender ink.
I wanted to make it more playful, so I hand drew a face to the little cupcake to match the “parents” in style. I used a black glaze pen on the eyes and glossy accents on the hearts. I added a tiny amount of shimmer with my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen to the cupcake holders.
I hope you got inspired and you will play along with us at the Inky Paws Challenge Inky Paws Challenge this week. You have 2 weeks to link up your projects to be eligible for the 20USD gift certificate to the NND online store.
See you soon with another fun card. Have a lovely day!
