Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the last day of the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs but we saved the sweetest for last. There cannot be any releases without a new Newton set, right? Today we are showcasing Newton’s Hanging Basket which comes with a coordinating die set,

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

For my card I stamped and coloured the sweet image using Copic markers and cut it out with its coordinating die. I imagined a real swinging card so I poked a hole on the nail using a pokey tool and an old mouse pad.

I die cut a scalloped rectangle from patterned paper and a smaller rounded rectangle from vellum using the Frames and Flags die set. The patterned paper is from the Cat’s Life paper pad. I poked a hole also on these two layers an attached the hanging basket to it with a tiny brad. This way it can really swing!

I stamped a sentiment on the bottom of the vellum with Black Staz-on ink and embellished the scene with a bunch of die cut leaves.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the heart the cat is holding and covered it with glossy accents. I popped up the whole panel with thin foam tape on a green mat before adhering it to a white card base.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs but we still have some super cute new sets to show. Today is all about birds: Birdhouse Greetings has the most adorable images and it comes with a coordinating die set, There is also a new Birdhouse Line Stencil which allows you to create stunning quick cards.

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

CARD 1

For my first card I stamped and coloured a bunch of birdhouses from Birdhouse Greetings using Copic markers. I really enjoyed just sitting and colouring, I can totally relax this way. I cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

Then I did a quick ink blending on a white card base with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and added a to of splatters: water droplets, white and black paint and some diluted Tumbled Glass ink. I love the texture it gives. I also die cut grass from light green cardstock with a Land Border die and added a bit of shading with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink.

The sentiments I white heat embossed on black cardstock and just fussy cut them out with my scissors. After assembling the scene, I simply adhered the sentiments on the die cut images.

I used the small birds and butterflies as embellishments to enrich the scene. I used a white gel pen to add highlights and a black glaze pen to emphasize the eyes. I also used a clear shimmer pen on the wings and a drop of glossy accents on the bodies of the butterflies.

CARD 2

For my second card I used the Birdhouse Line stencil with Gathered Twigs distress oxide ink first and then added a layer of Transparent gloss paste over it. I set it aside to dry. When it wasn’t sticky any more, I added the second layer with Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch.

For the birds I used Picket Fence Studios Paper Glaze in Sapphire Macaw colour. I love the texture and pearlescent shine.

After it was all dry, I cut the panel down and added a blue violet mat to it. The sentiment I stamped with turquoise ink from the Cozy Camper stamp set.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

It is Day 2 of the May Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. We continue with a super cute set called Succulent Garden which comes with a coordinating die set. There is a new stencil this month called Trailing Leaves.

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

For my card I decided to stamp all the succulents on white, Copic friendly cardstock randomly and coloured them with Copic markers. I was really just playing with different greens and combined them with a touch of pink or yellow for a fun look. Then I took my favourite die from Framework to cut the panel down and adhered it to a kraft card base.

I white heat embossed a sentiment on a piece of black cardstock and cut it out with a banner die from Frames and Flags. I used 3D foam squares to pop it up.

As a finishing touch I added a few teeny tiny clear sequins in-between the plants. I love how much a few embellishments add to a card!

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the new release reveals of Newton’s Nook Designs! Today we are showcasing a brand new line of hot foil products! YAY! Look at all those details! So pretty!

All new products will be available on 19/05/2023.

For my card I wanted to incorporate all the new hot foiling products so first time ever in my life, I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot foil machine with gold foil on these awesome new dies. I chose Hammermill 100lb white cardstock as I heard it is giving the best results and I was not disappointed. All my foiling turned out beautiful! I used the coordinating dies to cut all the fireflies, jar and sentiment.

Then I created an inked background: on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock I ink blended Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire ad Black Sooth Distress Oxide inks. I added some water splatters and also diluted gold paint splatters. I used a Land border die to cut the grass and blended it with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I added some diluted ink splatters to this piece too, I just love the look!

I used Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink to add colour to the little bugs and the middle of the jar too. On the outer edge of the jar I used Blueprint Sketch, to match the night sky. I used the same gold paint for the top of the jar as for the splatters and black paint for the bodies of the fireflies. I made the wings shimmery with a clear shimmer pen.

I assembled the scene and popped up the white sentiment strip with the beautiful gold foiled sentiment on it using 3D foam squares.

GIVEAWAY

Would you like to win the “Fireflies” Hot Foil Plates & Dies? This hot foiling set will be given away to ONE lucky winner! Get well soon, friend! – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. As you may know, Lesley has just had a surgery and she is at home recovering. I wanted to make a cute card specifically for her to cheer her up in these hard days. I mixed and matched a few stamps and dies from the latest release, let me guide you through the process.

First I stamped and coloured the images from the Two by Two Zoo animals stamp set using Copic markers. Then I die cut everything out with their coordinating dies.

While I was at die cutting I also cut a cute label with the Showtime frames from green cardstock and a set of white letters using the Moxie Alphabet dies. I spelled “friend” and adhered it on the top of the label with liquid glue. I stamped another sentiment under it from the Get well greetings stamp set.

For the background I chose a striped pattern paper from the Spring Breeze paper pad and added a slightly smaller vellum layer over it before adhering the green label. I popped up the coloured images with 3D foam squares and finished the card with a few sequins from the Enchanted Moss Sparkle Mix. I also used a black glaze pen on the eyes of the critters.

I wish you enjoyed my card today and share with us in our Facebook group if I inspired you. Follow me on Instagram if you like my cards, your support means so much to me! Thank you!

See you soon,

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the last day of the new release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs and I must tell you, the Fabulous Fungus stamp/die set is my favourite this month. Perfect for guy cards and has a lot of punny sentiments.

All new supplies will be available on 24/03/2023.

I started with stamping and colouring all the different mushrooms with Copic markers. The colours I used are: E49, E47, E44, E43, E41, E40, E89, E87, E84, E81, E59, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50, E39, E37, E35, E33, E31, E30, E19, E99, E15, E79, E77, E74, W4, W1, W00. Some I die cut, but the ret looked so good together that I simply cut a scalloped stitched rectangle out of it to be my focal panel. I used the Frames Squared die set.

I also die cut a scalloped circle from vellum and a smaller circle from dark brown cardstock to hold part of the sentiment which I white heat embossed on the top of it. The die set I used is called Circle Frames.

Another sentiment I stamped on kraft cardstock and cut it out with a thin banner die from A7 frames and Banners die set. I assembled the card using a kraft card base. I used 3D foam squares in between the layers to make it really dimensional and stamped a third sentiment on the bottom part of the card.

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the new release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs and we are going floral today as we showcase the Spring Blooms Oval stamp set. It perfectly matches the previously released Oval Frames dies.

All new supplies will be available on 24/03/2023.

I wanted an elegant tone-on-tone background for my floral card so I started with stenciling. I used the new Quatrefoil stencil on grey cardstock with Picket Fence Studios Paper Glaze Polar. It is a magical silver, very elegant and beautiful when it is dry.

While it was drying I stamped the Spring Blooms stamp on alcohol friendly cardstock and coloured the florals with Copic markers. Here is a full list of the colours I used:

  • tulips: RV25, RV43, RV21, G28, YG17, YG25
  • crocus: BV13, BV01
  • daffodils: YR04, Y38, Y15, Y11, Y000
  • mini flower: YR09, YR04, Y38, Y000

Then I cut around the image with my scissors and ran a black Memento marker around the edges to hide any imperfections. Then I used the Oval Frames dies to cut a scalloped light purple oval as a mat for the pretty florals.

The sentiment I white heat embossed on a blue violet die cut which I created with a die from Framework. It fits perfectly in the middle of the image!

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen and glossy accents on some parts of the flowers t make them pop.

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Day 1 of the March Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs! This is a super cute release focusing on Spring with some fresh and unique designs. Today our team showcases the Spring Haul stamp/die set, 2 new stencils and a pretty paper pad.

All new supplies will be available on 24/03/2023.

CARD 1

For my first card I started with stamping the images from the Spring Haul stamp set and coloured them with Copic markers. The colours I used are the following:

  • car: YG67, YG17, YG25, BG23, BG10, C3, C1, C0, T9, T7, T5, T1
  • watering can: C3, C1, C0
  • blanket: BG49, BG13, BG11
  • pots: E57, E55, E53
  • flowers: RV09, RV06, RV04, RV02, Y15, Y11, YR7, Y38, G28, YG67

I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. While I was die cutting, I cut a white postage edge rectangle with the Framework die and a piece of grass with a Land Border die. I cut down a light blue cardstock to fit inside the white rectangle and did a little ink blending on the edges for a bit of shading. I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink with a blending brush.

I stamped a sentiment on the top right corner and assembled the scene.

I used 3D foam squares to pop up the car. I gave the scene a thin teal mat before I adhered it to the white background. For the card base I chose kraft this time. The tiny butterflies and bees make the perfect embellishment!

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen and glossy accents.

CARD 2

I love clean and simple stenciled cards and the new Spring Garden Line stencil will cover you for all occasions! I created 2 cards to show you 2 different designs but the variety is endless just by changing up the colours and sentiment.

I used Distress Oxide inks for the stenciling: Mowed Lawn, Kitch Flamingo and Mustard Seed. The sentiments are from the Mom and Dad and Dainty Daisies stamp sets.

As a touch of extra, I used a tin strip of gold glitter cardstock for both designs. It makes a huge difference!

Easter Wishes – Pretty Pink Posh

Hello Everyone,

I am back today with a super cute Easter card, which I have created with the new release of Pretty Pink Posh. This card is part of a fun, 3 day long Instagram Hop – for all the details and prizes, visit my Instagram account.

First I stamped and coloured the images from the Leafy Spring Wreath and Spring Chick stamp sets. I used Copic markers, but stepped out of my comfort zone and picked colours which are not my go-to colours:

  • wreath: G16, G02, G00
  • chicks: E55, E53, E51, E50, Y38
  • eggs: B06, B04, B02, B00, BG13. BG23, BG11, YG63, YG61, YG11
  • ribbon: Y18, Y13, Y00

I cut everything out with their coordinating dies and while I was die cutting I also created the sentiment: I used the new Easter Wishes Shadow die. I cut the shadow from white cardstock and the sentiment itself from a pretty glitter green.

For the card base I chose kraft to match the chicks and to make the wreath stand out. Before popping up the chicks and ribbon with 3D foam squares I added a bundle of thin silver thread behind them as an extra touch.

I embellished the wreath with Flower Garden Clay Confetti Mix, it has the most adorable little clay flowers I have ever seen! I also added clear shimmer to the eggshells and used glossy accents on the ribbon, beaks and egg decoration.

I hope you got inspired o try new colour combos of your favourite colouring medium too and you hop on to Instagram to play along with us for precious prizes!

See you soon,

Zsofi

Pretty Pink Posh March Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am thrilled to be part of the Pretty Pink Posh March release Blog Hop. This Spring release is just my favourite, I was so hungry for fresh, Spring designs! To celebrate the new release, we are having a 3 day Blog Hop, so it is worth to check the previous days on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog for eve more inspiration.

For my card I mixed and matched stamps from the new release and from older ones too to create a cute garden scene. I stamped and coloured the images from the Mouse Friends and Flower Garden stamp sets. I used Copic markers ad cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

Then I created a very simple, inked background by blending Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks directly on a white A2 sized card base. I made sure not to overlap the colours. I added some water droplets ad ink splatters for a more exciting, textured look. I love splattering!

I die cut the Happy Spring Shadow die from Magenta Glitter cardstock, but only the words without the shadow. It is so delicate and pretty! I adhered it to the top of my card using drops of liquid glue. I have a thin nozzle on my glue bottle which allows me to adhere intricate dies like a breeze.

Then I built the garden scene from all the die cut images. Some I adhered flat, some with 3D foam squares for a very dimensional look. Aren’t these gardening mice the cutest ever? I am amazed how well they coordinate with the new release.

As a finishing touch I added white gel pen highlights and used a black glaze pen on the noses, eyes and flower centers. I also added a bit of clear shimmer to some of the flowers as we can never have too much sparkle, right?

GIVEAWAY

Hop along with us and leave comments on each stop. We are giving away 6 $25 gift certificates to random comments left before March 14, 2023 at 11:59 PM PST (2 winners each day) . The winners will be announced next week on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog. The full list for Day 3:
