Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

Sadly, it is the final day of the countdowns, but we saved another fun set for you for the last day of the January Release reveals with Newton’s Nook Designs. Never Enough Cats is perfect for any occasions for your cat lover friends.

All new designs will be available on 20th January.

As always I started with stamping and colouring the image with Copic markers: E44, E43, E42, E41, E59, E57, E55, E39, E37, E35, E34, E33, E31, W9, W7, W5, W4, W2, W1, W00, E11, E01, E000, BG57, BG23, BG11. I die cut it with its coordinating die,

While I was at die cutting I also cut a scalloped circle with the Circle Frames die set from patterned paper. I also cut another piece of patterned paper for the background, matted it with red cardstock. I added 3 thin teal striped before popping up the circle and the kitties. I love how the Love and Woofs and Love and Meows papers can be mixed and matched.

For the sentiment I die cut a gray banner with a Banner Trio die and white heat embossed the text on it.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the noses.

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 3

Hello Everyone,

We are halfway through the January Release reveals with Newton’s Nook Designs. Today we are showcasing the adorable Never Enough Dogs stamp/die set.

All new designs will be available on 20th January.

For my card I stamped and coloured the image using Copic markers: E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, E59, E57, E55, E53, E51, E39, E37, E35, W9, W7, W5, W3, W2, W00, E11, E01, E000, YG06, YG23, E18, BG11. I die cut it with its coordinating die,

For the background I chose patterned paper from the Love and Chocolate paper pad and cut it with the scalloped rectangle die from Frames and Flags. The sentiment I stamped on a stitched white banner which I die cut with the Banner Trio dies. I decided to decorate it with some thinner colourful banners which I cut with the A7 Frames and Banners and Frames and Flags die sets. I love dimensional die cuts, it looks so cool!

After popping up the image and banners with 3D foam squares, I decided to add an extra sentiment on a Speech Bubble, it makes it more playful I think.

As a finishing touch I added some little die cut images, used glossy accents on the noses and hearts and emphasized the dogs’ eyes with a black glaze pen.

Newton’s Nook Desigs January Release – Day 2

Hello Everyone,

Let’s continue the January Release reveals today with Newton’s Nook Designs. On Day 2 we are showcasing the cute Newton’s Heart stamp/die set.

All new designs will be available on 20th January.

For my card I stamped and coloured the kitty using Copic markers: E44, E43, E42, E41, E01, E000, R89, R46, R27, R24. Before die cutting it with its coordinating die, I white heat embossed a sentiment in the middle of the heart. Doesn’t it look pretty?

Then I created the background: I did a quick ink blending on white cardstock with Fired Brick, Abandoned Coral and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide inks. Then I placed the Meow stencil over it and went back with the same colours before spritzing it with Tart Cranberry Mica Spray. I love the texture and mess look it got this way! When it was dry, I cut it down to be slightly smaller than an A2 sized card front.

To hold my kitty, I created a tag using the Fancy Edges Tag die set: I cut the base from kraft cardstock, the fancy edge from red and added a white reinforcer. I embellished it with white ribbon and natural twine before popping it up at an angle with 3D foam squares on the background. I used 3D foam squares under the kitten too.

As a finishing touch I used a drop of glossy accent on the nose of the cat.

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 1

Hello Everyone,

I have such exciting news, we are starting the January Release reveals today with Newton’s Nook Designs. YAY! It is a small but adorable release, with unique designs and new paper pads. On the first day we are showcasing the cute Puppy Hearts stamp and die set.

All new designs will be available on 20th January.

For my card I stamped and coloured the puppy using Copic markers: W9, W7, W5, W3, W1, W0, BG09, BG57, BG23, BG11. Before die cutting it with its coordinating die, I white heat embossed a sentiment in the middle of the heart. I love when I can incorporate the sentiments in the coloured images!

Then I worked on the background: on Audrey Blue cardstock I used the Woof stencil with Gina K Glitz Glitter gel (Turquoise Sea). While it was drying I did some die cutting using the Heart Frames die set and white and light grey cardstock.

When the background was dry, I assembled the card using 3D foam squares under the dog. I added some black and white twine to the top (I know, I use a lot of twine these days, but I cannot help it, I just love it!) As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes and a drop of glossy accents on the noses.

Pretty Pink Posh January Release IG Hop

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the January Instagram Hop with Pretty Pink Posh. Grab a cup of tea or coffee, head over to my INSTGRAM and hop with us.

For my card I used the cute Potted Roses and Heart Critters set together. I love how these sets are designed to coordinate! I stamped the roses 4 times and the cute panda once, coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

The Copic colours I used are:

  • roses: RV25, RV23, RV21, G46, G14, G12,
  • panda: W9, W7, W4, W1, W00.

Then I die cut a Scalloped Diamond Tag from light grey cardstock and created a frame from the roses. I popped up the panda in the middle with 3D foam squares. I used my Cropadile to add an eyelet to the top and finished it with a black and white twine.

I chose a pretty patterned paper from the Doodlebug Sweet Things paper pad and popped up the tag with 3D foam squares. The sentiment is from the Potted Roses Stamp set: I white heat embossed it on dark grey cardstock and cut it out with its coordinating die. I love when handwritten sentiments have coordinating dies, I would never be able to fussy cut it that neatly.

I decided to add another white embossed sentiment from the same set, just this time I chose pink cardstock.

As a finishing touch I used a few Pink Blush pearls around the tag, emphasized the eyes of the panda with a black glaze pen and added a drop of glossy accents to the nose. So cute, isnt it?

GIVEAWAY

Those who leave a comment on each post participating in the Instagram Hop will have a chance to win a $30 gift card. More details you can find in my IG post. Hope to see you there!

Then I created an elegant tone-on-tone background: I die cut the Pretty Petals background die from white cardstock and adhered it to an A2 sized notecard. I love the texture it gives!

I also die cut the Large Hugs Shadow die from gold glitter cardstock and the shadow piece from black cardstock. It really gives a nice contrast and helps the sentiment to pop out. Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

It is always bittersweet when we reach the last day of the release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs, but we have still a very versatile and elegant set to showcase today. Snowflake oval is perfect for your winter cards beyond the holidays. It coordinates with the previously release Oval frames die set and can be combined with many critter sets too.

All new products will be available on 14/10/2022.

For my card I firs heat embossed the Snowflake Oval stamp with silver embossing powder on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I used the scalloped oval from Oval frames to cut it out. I used a blending brush and did some simple ink blending over the embossed image with Distress Oxide inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. I added some water droplets and also some silver pearlescent paint from Finetec.

It looks gorgeous on it’s own, but I wanted to make it cute so I stamped the tall snowman with the puppy from Holiday Heights with a light grey ink and did some no-line colouring with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

The colours I used are: BG9, BG7, BG5, BG2, BG1, BG05, TB5, TB3, TB1, OR3, OR05, JG3, JG1, JG05, CT4, CT2, CT1, EB5, EB4, RB2, RB1. I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

I used the Snowfall stencil with white texture paste on a white card base to create a tone on tone wintery background for my focal panel.

While it was drying, I die cut a stitched circle from mint cardstock with a die from Frames Squared and stamped a sentiment on it in black.

When the cardbase was dry, I popped up the focal panel with 3D foam squares, mounted the coloured image with dimensional tape too, adhered the sentiment and finished it off with a teal-purple twine from Lawn Fawn.

Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 3

Hello Evereyone,

We are halfway through the Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release reveals, but as you may have guessed, today is all about kitties. The 2 sets featured today are Newton’s Gift and Christmas Nap and they both come with coordinating dies.

Look at the coordinating die for Christmas nap: it even has an extra sentiment die!

All new products will be available on 14/10/2022.

CARD

For my first card I started with colouring the napping pets from Christmas Nap using Copic markers. The exact colours I used are the following: E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, YG67, YG17, YG25, YG03, R89, R39, R37, R35, Y17, Y08. I cut it out with its coordinating die.

Then I chose a pretty patterned paper from the Canine Christmas pad and cut it with the postage stamp die from Framework. I also cut a small piece from woodgrain cardstock to serve as floor and added a thin red strip before adhering it to the “wallpaper”.

I used the Frames and Flags die set to cut a brown banner and white heat embossed the sentiment on it.

I also cut a very small oval from gold cardstock with one of the small dies from Oval Frames – it serves as a small carpet under the tree.

After popping up the image and sentiment with foam squares, I gave the whole panel a light green mat before adhering to a white card base. As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen and glossy accents.

TAGS

When I first saw the Newton’s Nap stamp set, I thought how nicely it could work as gift tags!

So stamped and coloured a bunch using Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating die. The colours I used are: G28, G09, G07, R46, R29, R27, R24, E42, E41, E40, YG25, YG03, YG01, YG00, W9, W7, W5, W4, W2, W1, W00, E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, C7, C3, C0, E01.

To make them sturdier, I cut the coordinating die once more from white cardstock and adhered to the back of the coloured tags.

I stamped the sentiments on each with black ink and used a hole punch to make space for the twine.

As a finishing touch I used clear shimmer on the ribbons and glossy accents on the berries and noses.

GIVEAWAY

Would you like to win the “Christmas Nap” or the “Newton’s Gift” Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set! Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release – Day 2

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Holiday Release reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs. Today we are featuring 2 adorable little stamp/die sets: Holiday Haul and Wreath Pups.

All new products will be available on 14/10/2022.

CARD 1

For my first card I started with colouring the cute puppies from Wreath Pups using Copic markers. The exact colours used are the following:

  • wreath : YG67, YG17, YG23, RV69, R39, R37, R35
  • puppy 1: T9, T7, T5, T3, T1
  • puppy 2: E55, E53, E51, E40

I cut it out with the coordinating die. I also cut a scalloped rectangle with the Frames and Flags die set from vellum and a green banner to hold the sentiment which I white heat embossed. I added a slightly smaller white rectangle under the vellum and popped up the puppy an banner with 3D foam squares.

I used one of the patterned papers from the Christmas Time paper pad, matted it with dark red cardstock and mounted the focal panel on it with foam tape.

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the ribbon and added white gel pen highlights. I used a gold glitter pen on the berries, a back glaze pen on the eyes and glossy accents on the noses.

CARD 2

I started with stamping and colouring the truck from Holiday Haul with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: DR6, DR4, DR2, DR1, DR05, GB5, GB4, GB3, GB1, BT4, BT3, BT2, BT1, BT05, IG8, IG6, IG4, JG7, JG5, JG4, JG3, LG4, LG2. I cut it out with the coordinating die.

I used the Circle Frames di set to cut the biggest scalloped circle from white and a smaller stitched one from light blue cardstock. I used the Petite Snow stencil with Ranger white Texture Paste to add snow to the latter and cut a slightly bigger circle from red metallic cardstock to give it a frame.

While the snow was drying, I white heat embossed a sentiment on patterned paper from the Christmas Time paper pad. Then I popped up the focal panel with 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the presents, and glossy accents to emphasize some details. Instead of the vivid white gel pen highlights I used a white pencil to add a softer look. Looks cool, isn’t it?

Hey ghoulfriend – Heffy Doodle

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. It is officially Fall and pumpkin season so I had to pair some orange gourd with my favourite ghost from the latest release. It is a simple design, let me show you how I made it.

First I coloured the pumpkins and ghost from the Costume Critters and Ghoulfriends stamp sets using Copic markers. Then I cut them out with the coordinating die.

I also die cut a tree from black cardstock with a die from the Elm street set and cut a wonky stitched rectangle from white cardstock to hold my scene.

I did a very quick ink blending with Distress Oxides for the background: Salty Ocean for the sky and Shabby Shutters for the ground. Before adhering the tree I used some white pigment ink on the branches to make it look more spooky.

I stamped a sentiment above the tree, matted the scene with black cardstock before mounting it on a patterned paper from the Fright night paper pad.

As a finishing touch I added twine on the top and some sequins from the Pumpkin Spice Sparkle Mix to the tree. I also used a black glaze pen on the eyed of the ghost and glossy accents on the pumpkin stems. So cute, isn’t it?

I wish you got inspired and ready for Halloween crafts. Don’t forget to show us what you create in our Facebook group, we love to see your cards!

See you soon,

Zsofi
