Last card in 2020!

Hello Everyone,

It is the last day of the year and I wanted to pop in to tell you: THANK YOU so much for all your support, all the comments, all the love. It means so much to me! It was a tough year for all of us and crafting really helped me to go through without losing my sanity. It is my therapy and my joy in hard times. I have a lot of plans for 2021, I wish I can realize them step-by-step. What I know for sure is that my love for paper is gonna stay and I will keep crafting until I can. And I would love you to share this journey with me.

My last card of the year was born as a little sister to my yesterday’s card. I used the same Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn STAMPtember collaboration stamp/die set with the same aqua colours. Just this time I built a Bird House (Magic Iris Add-on) from woodgrain cardstock, chose a pretty patterned paper in the background and opted for a different Winter Scripty Sentiment. To build dimension I die cut the house, roof and the bottom part 3 times and adhered them on top of each other. It makes a huge difference!

I hope you enjoyed this card, I will insert here a few more close ups.

I will upload this project to the Lawnfawnatics Challenge 15 (New Year) and to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Sparkle and Shine and Simon Says Stamp Moday Challenge Celebrate.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is SSS_Wednesday-Challenge-Blinkie-3.gif

Thanks for being here today with me and I wish you a much happier New Year! See you in 2021!

Happy New Year – Lawn Fawn

Hello Everyone,

I had a day off yesterday, just for myself and crafting so I finally had time to indulge in my Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn STAMPtember Exclusive set from 2020. I cannot get over the cuteness of these birds! I made 2 cards, the first one is a slimline one:

I started with stamping and colouring the images from Season’s Tweetings (it was a limited edition set, no longer available unfortunately). I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Then I die cut the new Scallop Slimline with hearts die from white cardstock, masked off the scalloped parts with Purple Tape and used the Music stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink to create a background.

Then I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the panel from Season’s Tweetings and added a red one above from Winter Scripty Sentiments. I love the look of the two fonts together!

While I still had the edges masked off I stamped the string of lights from Season’s Tweetings 3 times at a diffenet angle directly on the stenciled background and coloured the lights with Copic markers.

After popping up the birds with 3D foam tape, I stamped the Fa-la-la-la sentiments above the birds with teal ink for a tone-on-tone look.

As a finishing touch I added clear shimmer to the lights and accessories and covered the bulbs and beaks with glossy accents. To make it more festive I scattered a few clear sequins all around. Before adhering the panel to a white slimline card base (3,5*8,5 inches) I cut a dark red mat for the scalloped panel. It gives a nice frame to my little scene.

I will upload this project to the Lawnfawnatics Challenge 15 (New Year) and to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Sparkle and Shine and Simon Says Stamp Moday Challenge Celebrate.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration and will check back tomorrow for my last post this year.

See you,

Newton’s Nook Designs Winter Release – Day 4

Hello Everyone,

We have reached the last day of the Newton’s Nook Designs Winter Release reveals, which is always bitter-sweet. But we saved the best for last: a cute little kitty set called Newton’s Snowman (it also has coordinating dies) and a small but oh-so-pretty sentiment set called Happy New Year.

All new products will be available on 20/11!

CARD 1

I stamped and coloured the Newton’s Snowman stamp on white cardstock using Copic markers. I cut the image out with the coordinating die.

I wanted it to be in the center of attention so I kept the rest of the design simple: I used the Frameworks die set to cut a postage stamp rectangle from lime green cardstock. Then I cut a slightly smaller rectangle from patterned paper (Doodlebug Design) and matted it with white cardstock before adhering to the lime green piece. I popped up the die cut image with 3D foam squares and added the sentiment from the Snowman Roundabout stamp set on a thin black strip.

I chose a kraft card base this time to match the kitties and embellished the image with a clear shimmer pen (scarves), glossy accents (carrot, eyes and buttons of the snowman) and some stickles (caps and snowbanks).

These little details bring this cute image to another level.

CARD 2

To showcase the Happy New Year sentiment set I created a fun slimline card to have enough space for some celebrating kitties. The previously release Newton’s New Year and Newton Celebrates sets are coordinating so well with the new sentiment set!

After stamping, colouring and die cutting the images from the above mentioned sets I was working on the festive background.

I die cut a scalloped slimline rectangle with the Slimline Frames and Portholes die set from Bristol Smooth cardstock. I masked off the scalloped part with Purple Tape (Thermoweb) and applied Speckled Egg, Bundled Sage and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks in a light layer. I like to use blending brushes, for me these tools give the smoothest results. Then I used the Bubbly stencil and went back with the same colours just with a heavier hand. To resemble the champagne instead of Squeezed Lemonade I used Scattered Straw this time. After removing the stencil I used water and black and white acrylic paint to add splatters and dried it with my heat tool. I also spritzed the whole panel with glitter spray for a subtle sparkle.

I stamped the Happy New Year sentiment in the middle with black ink and popped up the images on the sides with 3D foam squares.

I added clear shimmer to the champagne and glossy accents to some details and adhered it on a black slimline card base (3,5*8,5 inches).

Happy New Year – 2020!

Hello Everyone,

I cannot believe that it is 2020 already, I need to practice writing it down. I feel it is going to be a special year, I am looking forward to all the changes it may bring in my life. I have some personal goals set and also crafting wise I have big ambitions to improve my colouring and photo-shooting skills and learn something new. I want to start making videos and teach the beauty of cardmaking. Super plans, right?

To celebrate the new year I created a simple critter card using two of my all time favourite brands: Lawn Fawn and Hello Bluebird. I stamped and coloured the bears and pines from the LF Winter Skies set and cut them out with the coordinting dies.

I took a Blue Violet cardstock piece and cut it down with the postage stamp die from Newton’s Nook Designs Frameworks set. It is my all time fave! I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Hello Bluebird North Star set and splattered the panel with white acrylic paint.

I die cut a stitched hill from Simon Says Stamp white glitter cardstock and assembled the scene on a kraft card base. I popped up the bear with 3D foam squares and added stripes to their scarf with a white gel pen.

So simple yet so cute, isn’t it? I am wishing you all a wonderful new year with all your wishes coming true, full of happy moments and quality time with your loved ones! And heartfelt thanks for following me on my crafting journey, it means the world to me!

See you soon with more inspiration! Have a lovely day,

Zsofi

NEWTON CELEBRATES

NND_NewtonCelebrates_zsm01IG

I stamped and coloured the kitty in the Martini glass using Copics, and cut him out with the coordinating die. I also added a party hat to enhance the party feel 🙂

NND_NewtonCelebrates_zsm04

For the background i used the Sunscape stencil on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Peacock Feathers distress ink. After removing the stencil i softened the edges with Tumbled glass distress ink and sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz for a subtle sparkle. I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die afterwards.

NND_NewtonCelebrates_zsm05

I die cut the word “party” from glitter cardstock using the Essential alphabet dies and adhered it to the bottom left corner. I popped up the die cut image with 3D foam squares and added a few golden confetti die cuts (Balloon shaker die set).

NND_NewtonCelebrates_zsm03

I also stamped a sentiment in black above the kitty and added a few black dots with a multi-liner. I used my favourite clear shimmer pen to give extra sparkle to the drink and covered the olives and hat stripes with glossy accents. When it was all dry, I adhered it to a kraft card base.

NEWTON’S NEW YEAR

NND_NewtonsNewYear_zsm01IG

After stamping, colouring and die cutting the images from the set, i planned my card design. I cut a piece of patterned paper to cove an A2 sized card. I cut a thin strip of white cardstock to hold the heat embossed sentiment (i embossed it in green to match the colour theme). I matted it with a tiny wider golden strip and adhered to the card base.

NND_NewtonsNewYear_zsm02

I die cut a stitched scalloped circle frame die (Lawn Fawn) from white and dark green cardstocks. The frames i layered on top of each other for more dimension. I felt that the occasions needs a bit more shine, so i decided to make the inner circle a bit more festive. I used the Confetti stencil and Nuvo Clear Shimmer paste. I love the sparkle it gives!

After adhering everything in place, i covered the champagne with a clear shimmer pen and added glossy accents to the labels and the hat.

MFT Sketch Challenge 365

Hello Everyone,

I am back again with another card design I created based on the MFT Sketch Challenge 365.

When I saw the sketch I thought of rainbow masked circles using distress inks. So that it what I did on a stitched rectangle piece of Bristol paper and a 1.5 inch circle die mask. I sponged all the colours i chose for the card and spritzed it with Tsukineko Shimmer spritz for a distressed look and some sparkle.

20180101_152645 wm

I die cut the word Happy 2 times, once from black and once from silver glitter cardstock. I layered them on top of each other slightly offset.

20180101_152701 wm

I heat embossed a Joy Clair sentiment on a black strip in white.

20180101_152716 wm

To finish this very colourful but simple card, I sprinkled some iridescent jewels from Lucy`s Little Things all over. It gave the festive look I was going for with this New Year card.

20180101_152732 wm

I will upload this card to the MFT Sketch Challenge 365, the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Something new and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

I hope you like it and will return soon.

See you,

Zsofi

Welcome 2018

Hello Again,

It is almost midnight and i wanted to share another card I made with some free digital stamps by Gerda Steiner Designs.

20171231_103930 wm

Image is printed on Copic friendly paper and colour with Copic markers. Then i die cut it with a stitched rectangle die, matted it with black glitter cardstock, another stitched rectangle from silver metallic cardstock and a dotted scalloped rectangle from purple cardstock (to reflect the colour of the new year).

20171231_104034 wm

I spread a few rainbow sparkle confetti from Simon Says Stamp all over it for a more festive look and covered the numbers with Tonic Aqua clear shimmer pen (I just love this pen so much).

20171231_104027 wm

I will upload this project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Party and to the Wednesday Challenge Anything goes.

That is all from me from this year, I hope you enjoyed all that i shared and will continue to follow me in 2018 too. I have some fun planned already. Happy New Year!

20171231_163004 wm

I used my favourite stamp set Fairy friends, stamped the cute fairies and coloured them with Copics. I die cut them with the coordinating dies. I added some shimmer with the Tonic shimmer pen to the wings.

20171231_162854 wm

The background is stenciled (MFT Mini cloud edges) with Tumbled Glass distress ink. The sentiment (Big Scripty Words) is heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder (WOW) and i sponged distress ink on it as well to match the background. The rest of the sentiment is from a Joy Clair set (Hello sentiments).

20171231_162923 wm

I added a silver glitter frame to the scene (Avery Elle Postage stamps frame die) and finished the card with a bunch of rainbow jewels from Honey Bees Stamps.
